My 3A-D1 District 9 Rankings
TrojanWarrior08 replied to TrojanWarrior08's topic in High School Football
I need a moderator to close this one out as I have Week 3 up already so everyone let's continue on that thread because I want to do a week by week segment on this district and let's get our thoughts towards last week and this week. Everytime I post up on this particular segment one needs to close and we will discuss based on that particular week so with that being said let's move to the new one l've posted up yesterday. -
It's Monday so it's time for my thoughts on the weekly rankings again. I'm actually busy at the time of this post so I'll make it short and sweet so here we go: 1. Woodville (1-2) - The Eagles as I stated has an easy slate of opponents coming up and they can only go from here with a beat down of Liberty although that was not the case in the first half but still put it on them when needed most. (They will be F-I-N-E) 2. Palestine Westwood (3-0) - This is the only team in district that is still undefeated. I understand what type of opponents that they had to play but district starts in 2 weeks so expect a loss or 2 down the road. 3. Coldspring-Oakhurst (2-1) - The only reason why I've bump them down is because of the loss to H-F and not because of Westwood record for mine and obvious reasons. H-F's O-Line is by far the biggest we will see this season unless we make it to the playoffs. Another reason why the Trojans are in this spot is because of the defense holding H-F to only 2 points the entire second half. 4. Diboll (1-2) - I was very tempted to move them above Coldspring in my esteem rankings because they played the defending state champs but their first half performance left a little bit less to be desired but the second half they showed up but a loss is a loss and the Trojans record is better (although the teams Coldspring beat can't hold Franklin's jockstrap at all). This team should get better as the season progresses. 5. Shepherd (1-2) - The game against Orangfield should show a bit of indication of where the Pirates may wind up this season. A terrible loss to the Bobcats nevertheless. T. 6. Crockett and Huntington (0-3) - The records speaks for itself one team is very young and the other one history speaks for themselves.

Hamshire-Fannett (30) @ Coldspring-Oakhurst (8) - FINAL
TrojanWarrior08 replied to jdawg03's topic in High School Football
I was thinking the same thing but Hamshire-Fannett are the real deal in my book and that big #70 looks like he can be on a NFL O-line right now I haven't seen anyone that big so far this season in the games I've seen and that includes some of 6A and 5A. I knew we would lose this one but we did play them way better than last season. -

Good job Trojans especially playing the second half like that and good luck Longhorns on your season. -

My 3A-D1 District 9 Rankings

Trust me I wanted too lol -
Although our district is a coverage district but the area where I live ex: Huntsville, Coldspring, Shepherd, Willis, Conroe ISD, Splendora, Cleveland, etc. we are with what I consider to be a gray area in Texas we can be SETX or East Texas, Greater Houston area or Central Texas so we're just glad to get coverage out here and thanks to SETX Sports for making it happen because Lord knows I can't do that other site.

I like a topic like this especially in the 4A- Below discussions which is why I made my thread about my district. Bellville is on of those teams that sometimes that they cover on here if it's in a local district but since yall will play some of the teams from the site in the playoffs (if yall make it there which yall should) then I don't mind the insight over into the season for a team like yours or others that SETX may play.

No sir not even happening... Even though what I said Diboll being who they are losing key players to graduation it will be closer than that. I have that game 34-21 or 34-28. -

I agree with the whole statement especially Diboll losing what they lost in graduation plus the next game Westwood will play... I'll try to see what info I can get out of that game Friday while watching our game against Hamshire-Fannett. -

You entitled to your opinion but that doesn't make it a fact. The fact is that both teams are way better than any team Westwood has played so far. -

They won twice that season with the only other team in their district that they best was Eustace. -

Only due to the teams that they played I think the only thing I know about Kemp is I think that they had only one win all of last season (I'll check this out to be sure) and as far as Buffalo is concerned they usually do well in non-district but in their own district is another ball game and Westwood is probably most like the best team they will see in non-district. Coldspring wins are different because one is a 4A-D2 team that although last year they only won 1 game I believe they was for the most part in their games towards the end at the last minute of each game including us. The other team a 4A-D1 school that will most likely move up at the next realignment that played against us well for a team to be in the running for a district championship and they just came off a blowout win against a 6A team (who has no business being one but it is what it is can't argue with how many students are there) but a win nevertheless so I guess make with this info however you see fit but Coldspring's wins are more impressive to me than that of Westwood's. -

You could either put both Coldspring or Westwood at 2 or 3. The only reason why I have Coldspring at 2 is because of the higher classifications they played opposed to Westwood. -

We got after next week until district starts... Since we just got football back I'm not rushing the season. -
East Chambers (14) @ Hamshire-Fannett (30) - FINAL
TrojanWarrior08 replied to jdawg03's topic in High School Football
Plus in this week's game against us if they don't have a run game against us then they're in a whole wide of trouble as I alluded to in my thread. Our secondary has been better so we know that H-F likes to throw the ball with their QB so they are more prepared for it this week. -
My 3A-D1 District 9 Rankings
TrojanWarrior08 replied to TrojanWarrior08's topic in High School Football
I had to do this because not too much light has been shown enough on this district and I think at least 2 teams out of this district can compete during playoff time with Woodville being one of the 2 teams (because I do believe that they will district by default unless something dramatic happens) or Coldspring and Westwood (I low-key have those 2 teams evenly matched for now but also understand that Coldspring is running a new offense so it will take time getting adjusted to.) -
My 3A-D1 District 9 Rankings
TrojanWarrior08 replied to TrojanWarrior08's topic in High School Football
Thanks for the input... I really haven't looked at Newton's size just yet but on Woodville's schedule as far as I can tell only us Westwood and Franklin are the biggest size wise they will see for at least the regular season. The next opponent in Liberty are very undersized and Woodville should fare way better than Coldspring did against them. This @jds82 is what I was referring to about common opponents no matter how each team plays each but I do bother to look at the teams and the score although on any given Friday the outcome can be different. -
Been meaning to do this but had a family member being in the hospital but now since I have some time I can tell you guys my rankings and thoughts. So with that being said let's get started with my first pick: 1. Woodville - As I stated in another thread before they have played 2 teams that are state ranked and perennial playoff contenders and played them close both match ups. They will be fine for the rest of the season as the schedule gets easier with next weeks game against Liberty (Only thing I would have to ask myself is Newton is better than Franklin right now because of the score differential but we won't know because of the different classification they're in and hope Franklin keeps scheduling teams out here in Southeast Texas in pre-district). 2. Coldspring-Oakhurst - In the first game of the season I realized that our secondary has improved drastically from last year I think 3 picks against Liberty but I also noticed that the past 2 games the Trojans are not really a good second half team as they will do most of the damage in the first half and get too laxed after that once they put up a comfortable lead. It could be that the defense may be tired or what but next week will be the hardest game outside of Woodville we should have all season in the Longhorns but this time this will be at our house. I do have the Longhorns winning this one but I think we will hang with them better than last season at our house. 3. Palestine Westwood - They blew out 2 teams so far and if the stories I keep hearing about their QB is true then this team is going to make some noise and put the whole district on notice. This is my dark horse pick to win district. 4. Diboll - No knock on the Lumberjacks but this is a completely different team than last season but when district competition rolls around expect them to compete as I feel every team outside of Huntington and Crockett has been better than last year. 5. Shepherd - I had the Pirates either securing the 3rd or 4th slot in district but the loss to Tarkington changes that. The Longhorns are much improved so I expect them to get a playoff spot in that district. But don't count out Shepherd yet because the RB is the trust over there. I expect a win next week providing that the team can correct the mistakes in the Tarkington game. 6. Crockett - This teams is very young and against a state champ in Mart the week before showed that. Last week game didn't do much for them either and I expect for them to be bottom dwellers of the district this season. 7. Huntington - Well the team speaks for themselves but they have played spoilers before in this district and they can do it again. I'll will try to keep this updated every week so stay tuned as I stated that these are my personal opinions on each time regardless of fact or opinion.

Week 2 out of coverage area scores
TrojanWarrior08 replied to BBfan061's topic in High School Football
Lovejoy is usually a pain in the arse come playoffs. They always play spoiler for a very good team trying to make it to state.
