Coldspring just added Alec Dunhum on the coaching staff. For those who don't know he was the other RB outside of Sherman Gilbert who went to play college ball for TCU... Gotta love what Coach Allen is doing to the coaching staff already.

He was also the QB when we were getting ready to make our deep playoff runs with RB Sherman Gilbert.

He was my QB when he was a Sophomore and I was a Senior. Definitely a good hire.

Yes for D1 they would essentially replace Teague and whoever left that district.

Kudos to the girls but I'm strictly talking about football here no offense. That's where the majority of my posts you will see on here will involve only football and some basketball.

This Trojan for one prays that y'all get the football program up and running so that the kids can have an opportunity to play and live in the district and also makes for new rivalries (for football at least). As far as our program goes the junior high kids is what we have to look forward to as far as the next talent goes although our JV was pretty decent this year.

Yes it's been years since they've been asking about it but I'm glad that it may come to fruition now.

He was referring to the current number of students that they have now without football being a part of the equation.

I think they have 3A-D2 numbers but they're steady getting students over there so if they're not 3A-D1 they damn sure about to be. Which also I wonder what district would they fall in once they start playing football because you can make them go north or south.

I only assume because the coach that's currently there that has head coaching experience would be a good fit but the thing I would like to see is bring in a new coach with absolutely no ties whatsoever then see how this season plays out then bring your own set of guys in and build off of that although it will be hard with the talent pool being dry and whatnot.

Most likely imo it will be the interm play here but since their are keen interests from other coaches in other places we would most likely know by the end of next week or week after before 2 a days start.

@Tyerman is supposedly getting that program together as he is the athletic director/head basketball coach. He would know more about that.

And this is true... And is was true when I played especially my senior year (Barbay's first year). We had huge guys just walking around that could have helped on the O-Line alone but didn't want to play for various reasons.

I understand that but however I'm talking about the lower levels when I say this. I don't know any of the ones in high school currently especially at the varsity level and on that we agree.

In my opinion some are and I'm speaking for the parents of kids that I've actually played with if that talent falls on them like their parents have. Now if you're talking generational talent that once and awhile that comes along then I would totally agree with you as none of those former players or their children lives in San Jacinto County anymore with the exception of a few and they don't play sports.

Idk which ones but the ones that I do know that are my classmates from Coldspring already has kids going to Shepherd now and some are already playing organized sports now.

That's what I've been saying for awhile on here now. The whole entire Point Blank area alone will migrate over the lake once Onalaska starts football. As far as Shepherd is concerned they will get more athletes coming in just by being along on the 59/I-69 corridor as the area keeps building up.

Same thing that I was told. We've had those same facilities since 1999 with barely any upgrades. I'm actually surprised that the front of the school looks like it does now.
