The Lamar softball team is now 2-8. It appears they are going to be weak again this season. They played a few teams close, however Washington is the only good team they have played thus far. The pitching appears to be weak and struggle scoring runs, which leads me to believe hitting is weak also. I quesadillas Hooks can’t recruit quality players. Hopefully they will improve

Certainly need to give Brooks a chance, however Lamar struggling competing in all sports. I guess they just can’t recruit probably due in part to an ugly campus, not much to do in Beaumont, and losing programs. It seems to me since Born was hired as AD, all programs are worse. Bruner had the softball team winning, Hooks can’t sniff a win, Harmony had the womens basketball competing, this coach struggles, winning, Davis has proven that he can’t win in baseball. I don’t know what the athletic programs problems are, but it is not good. I sure hope Brooks can turn it around

I sure hope AB can recruit because the team he inherited is one of the worst if not the worst in the ncaa this year

Have you noticed that he doesn’t stay at one place very long. I think that they get tired of his arrogance in a hurry

yes Lumberton does have a weak non district schedule and should go 5-0, however we are talking about the Friendly Raiders, that under achieve about 95 percent of the time, so 3-2 or 2-3 is very possible

Dogbite as for your question, I honestly do not know who is coming back from the varsity and what the freshman and JV players they have coming up. I can tell you this. As you well know, 4 teams in the district make the playoffs. Nederland’s talent level each year is every bit as good as BH, PNG, and TC. My expectation is that they should make the playoffs every year. When they do not it is a disappointment and in my opinion a bad season. Matheus need to have a tremendous off-season and the coaches must do a better job at every position, especially the Ol, QB, and secondary positions. They were really a weak point this season. My other observation after watching 10 games is this: most HS teams improve from 2 a days to the 10th game of the season, Nederland did not and may have gotten worse as the season progressed. Secondly, there were a bunch of penalties, especially personal fouls, and there was little effort the last 3 games of the season This usually results from character issues, which they appeared to have. Your a highly intelligent fan, so I would like to hear your observation on why they had a bad this season. Razor, obviously you did not carefully read what I said, because I said I didn’t know

PNGFaithful I watched 10 Bulldog games and I saw a text n of arm tackling and poor fundamental tackling skills. In other words, a very weak defense Faircloth takes the top athletes and puts them on offense and then the defense takes shape. He gets ridiculed, but seems to make the playoffs. I don’t know if Barrow and staff have been to the playoffs more than 1 time since he has become head coach. PNG and Nederland have just about equal talent, however it seems as if PNG gets more production from their players than Nederland does in my opinion

Stattrax, you may be right in Monte being a good choice, however in my opinion, the coaching staff did a poor job this year. If you look at every position, as a unit, I didn’t see any excel. It didn’t matter whether it was the OL, QB, RB, receivers, DL, LBer’s, or Sec. I also don’t think 6 out of 8 is close to the dance and they didn’t come to play every night. If you think they came to play vs BH and KP, I would question that

The Bulldog faithful can rave about Barrow and coaching staff all they want and yes they did a good job last year. This season the Bulldogs were a very poorly coached team. They may have broken a record in getting personal fouls, which shows zero discipline and lack of character. Every offensive position coach did a poor job in my opinion. The offense was extremely weak n all positions . Defensively, the secondary was really weak and I saw little effort the last 3 games of the season. Whoever called the fake punt in their own territory and only down 17-10 made a tremendously poor decision, probably the turning point of the game. Hopefully they can turn it around next season. They lost 4 of the last 5 games and that 6th place finish leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

They have been extremely Friendly 3 of the last 4 games It looks to me like they simply gave up with little effort The Raiders who are known as the Friendly Raiders due to usually finding a way to lose, have had a remarkable year this year, hopefully turning into the Fighting Raiders from now on aleays enjoy your comments

Crosby probably about 70-14 Nederland’s defense the last 2 weeks looks like they put 11 orange cones on the field instead of players. The effort has been as bad as I have seen in years Offensively the OLine and QB are just not very good Just one of those bad years for the Bulldogs I guess the talent is not there this season
