  1. I've often thought why not let coaches (for schools that did not make the playoffs) continue to practice their teams while there are playoff games going on...it would give them additional time to work on next year's squad..but then again I could see this being an issue with smaller schools where the basketball team depends on guys finishing up football to field a team...who knows what the answer is?...
  2. I'd rather see it go back to two from each district...I agree having 4 teams go to the playoffs benefits schools like Warren, Hardin, Kountze, Vidor, Huntington, Tarkinton etc...etc...And if Warren got a 3rd or 4th spot I'd certainly be excited for the kids...but in my opinion four from each district is too many... That was a money decision by the UIL no matter how they spin it to look otherwise..The system is what it is...I don't see them reducing the number now.
  3. Because I believe the regular season should mean something..Now the top four teams go into the playoffs.. Doesn't matter if they have a losing record or how many teams are in their district..Just one guy's opinion..
  4. My opinion is that it should have never expanded past two teams from each district...

  6. No PC card pulled here.. Calling a high school team bad is no issue.. calling a team toothless, no fight, no talent dogs is over the top in my opinion..Given your long track record of posting on here I'm sure you won't agree but whatever.. it's your opinion..I've said my piece ..
  7. Nope....I call it a group of 16 to 18 year old kids trying their best..Last reply I'll make on this...Go on trolling kids if it makes you feel good...
  8. There are a few Warren posters on this site. Not very vocal as we've been down for quite a while..I've pretty much moved away from making comments and now mostly just post scores...I think the reason you see folks bashing on Hardin more so than Warren and Anahuac is because a few Hardin folks like to claim playoff spots starting in July..They also claim automatic wins versus teams like Anahuac, Warren, Kountze etc. even though Hardin has a historically lower win percentage than these schools..I pull for underdogs so I hope Hardin, Warren and Anahuac someday turn things around and all become contenders at least. Those kids and towns could certainly use it!
  9. All around classless and trashy post...smh...
  10. Warren JV wins over Huntington JV 6 to 0.
  11. I was in no way trying to come off as trash talking just stating that when teams look at upcoming season schedules they usually look at teams similar to themselves and think they have a solid shot at a win. Hopefully all teams can get through the year competitive and healthy..Good luck to Hardin...
  12. I'm sure they look at Hardin as a "potential" win in 2018...why are we talking about 2017?
  13. All the teams you have listed as possible Hornet wins also has Hardin on their "should" win list as well.
  14. I agree with you...Very few people know how screwed up school funding is in Texas...It needs to be their #1 priority in the next Legislative session...but it won't.. They'll just keep kicking the can down the road ..
  15. Oh no I knew exactly what you were getting at. If anything it was in support of your sentiments. We're in violent agreement! LoL!
  16. I think the only opinions that matter are the NISD taxpayers... Obviously for whatever reason the majority didn't see the need, at that time, to pass the bond...If the three new board members can promote the need/sell it and get it passed then great but in the end you accept the will of the (majority) of the taxpayers.. whether you agree with it or not.. Doesn't matter what PNG, United, Vidor or any other fans think..It's always easy to spend others money...
  17. This is another consequence of what happens when the UIL doubles the number of teams in the playoffs...I still believe it should be limited to the top two (at most) in each district...I know it provides a lot of schools the chance to make the playoffs but IMO it waters down the achievement of those teams who challenge to be district champions...It's all about the $$ now....
