Prayers! So glad they got him to the hospital.
I was wondering why I didn't see him get injured. Tough young man to get right back out there and continue on. So many of these guys don't want to let the team down. I hope all the players know to take care of themselves. Some injuries are serious and could be life threatening. Your life is worth so much more than a football game.

Just read on Smoaky.com that CC may be a complete different team than Crockett faced. Those missing players may return for this game. Hope the Eagles don't take these guys lightly.  Just saying.. 

Yea I'd rather not stir him up, I lose IQ  pts when I read such mess......besides I haven't heard from  old CC09 since last years game, we was gonna meet and shake hands and talk about the game during warm ups but he stood me up, had me in danger while I was purpled out and all standing amongst as bunched of hungry blue people on CC side in front of their concession stand I made it back alive though

Im sorry but for me to pick Crockett to beat Newton I have to seem them tackle consistently and not give up big plays on defense. So I am going with Newton who I think is better defensively and will tackle consistently. Newton 52 Crockett 28

Well, as soon as you come up with a website that has accurate yardage for all teams, then we can discuss who has the best defensive teams. Until then, I will go off points allowed.

I am a Newton fan and I feel we will not win, I just hope we can compete with West Orange. I hope we match up to them better but we have so many going both ways the 4th quarter belongs to the opponent and we cannot afford to get anyone hurt or sick. Surrender is not in us but we are bruised up somewhat, anyway I hope it is a decent game. West Orange would rough up Henderson, Newton was behind Henderson 11-8 at halftime but ran out of gas( halftime stats showed we probably out played them and the 6 turnovers didn't help us)

Im expecting a very competitive game. Newton is a really good program that punches above their weight. I think the Lions will get the job done but Newton will have some success running the ball and that will let the Eagles hang around. 

When you beat Kirbyville and Newton back to back, I think Bridge City is way under-rated. Bridge City should take this one.

hb Jaron Hanks (Newton) rushed for 235 yards  and 2 touchdowns on 20 carries. Also had a 2 point conversion.
 

Bryan Barbay addressed to the public this morning what has been known for a while in private. He has been asked to take over the day to day functions of Head Coach/Athletic Director on an interim basis at Newton. At QB Club meeting this morning he explained reasons he is back at Newton and exactly how things got to this point. He also mentioned that Coach WT Johnson came home from Houston yesterday evening and might make an appearance at the game tonight.

Practice at Kirbyville will be a lot more spirited this week .The kids will be teachable and coachable , they know they are beatable now. I look for them to show huge improvements this week. Good luck in district and play-offs.

Kirbyville will be fine, they have the athletes and coaching.  Just gotta get the chemistry and everyone on the same page.  
  Defense has some new faces that are still learning the system and will improve over time.   
I think what they just experienced in newton will benefit and humble the players as much as it will help the coaches.  Better to happen in first week rather than week 10 or 12.  Now you know where you stand.  Seniors time to step it up.
