  1. Hoops, it may be both, but I suspect you are right. I'm hoping that the working class in this country are waking up to the fact that neither party supports them, hence the anti-vote. Time will tell.
  2. I'm not doubting that climate change is not, at least partially, a man-made result. Nevertheless, climate change is not a hot button issue with me. I do what I can; recycle, reuse, and try to leave the Earth as good, or cleaner than the past. The company I work for, and all other American industries that I am aware of, have spent millions of dollars over the years to make our environment safer and to make sure they comply with all of the regulations our government, the EPA and dozens of other alphabet agencies force us to live by. So why is our government making a big deal out of climate change when we are already doing more than the rest of the world? Can you honestly answer this question without blaming the Koch brothers?
  3. I can't argue at all. Mcaffery and Watson are good bets. Kaaya made me a little money at the end of the season last year, so I'm already a fan. With Richt in charge, there is a tremendous upside. September can't come soon enough!
  4. Wow king! Good stuff and bad... I'm not sold on Pac-12 teams in the playoffs. I think Bama makes the playoffs, but the SEC will be much stronger overall. I like Tenn for the East. I hope you are wrong about Strong and Texas. I hope you are right about Baylor in the playoffs! While you have your crystal ball out, how about way-too-early Heisman candidates?
  5. This is written by Scott Adams, creator of the Dilber comic strip. [Hidden Content]
  6. The Dems are acting as fools, but no one here is watching it. Meanwhile, the media has discovered that Jerry Springer style debates are great for ratings. None of the candidates for either party are acting Presidential...
  7. Truly interesting times we are living in. While it is no secret that both parties are out of touch with American voters, this debacle with the Republican party really illustrates it. The firestorm they created with Trump mania may well incinerate the party as they know it. Good article.
  8. Reb, your posts and opinions are valued, and even if I disagree, I would never be offended. Under no circumstances would I ever vote for Clinton or Sanders. If Trump gets the nomination, it would take a lot of prayer before I ever voted for him.
  9. I almost voted for Carson. He has, by far, the most integrity of the candidates. When I ask myself: 1) Who would be best to stabilize/repair the economy? 2) Who would appoint the most conservative SC nominee? 3) Who would the enemies of the U.S. respect and fear the most? The answer didn't point to Ben Carson... While I genuinely admire and respect him, I don't believe he would be the best president. Saying that, I honestly believe Trump, Clinton or Sanders would be much worse!
  10. I've been saying this for years! Right now, the kooks and dope smokers look like better candidates than the lifelong, lying, crooked politicians in both parties! It is still hard to throw away your vote though...
  11. I'm about to leave work and go vote. It is disheartening... When there were 17 Republican canidates, I was optomistic, thinking Trump was the joker on the stage and would force candidates to talk about real issues. I didn't see this coming, but should have. The Republican party is reaping what it has sown, and this is what they have to show for it. The have completely spurned the Tea party and the working class. I will cast a vote for someone whom I believe would be a good President, but won't get the chance. On the plus side, even Trump should be a better option than a crooked liar or old, white socialist.
  12. Interesting article. It's amazing what Sanders is doing with virtually no PAC money and that Jeb! did so poorly with all that PAC money. I sure hope Super Tuesday shakes things up quite a bit!
  13. I was wrong too. It surprised me with Bush dropping out. Now... if they will indict Hillary, I might get my wish for no more Clintons, no more Bushes!
  14. I'm with Apple here too. I heard on the radio today that Apple said they don't have that technology right now. I don't believe that, but the judges opinion is wrong. That is like suing the gun manufacturer because I shot someone. That has been done before, so who knows how this plays out.
  15. I don't see any candidate backing out before March 2. Super Tuesday is too close for anybody to withdraw. Saying that, I'm curious to see what happens in SC and Nevada. Still kinda undecided...
  16. That's bad... Johnny makes the news because nothing happened! I still think he gets a shot with the Cowboys.
  17. The Republican race is getting nasty, mostly due to Trump and Cruz. Rubio and Carson are trying to fight back, but come off looking weak. Kasich and Bush don't want to fight with the big boys. I've watched almost all the debates and watched Trump bully Jeb every time. Jeb comes across really weak. One thing I have noticed about Jeb is that he isn't waffling on his stance, even when Trump beats him up for it. If Jeb would stand up for himself and his family; step across the stage and throat-punch Trump, I think I'd vote for him. That's fantasy on my part... Looking forward to see how things play out in SC and Nevada. Glad I've got almost 2 weeks before I vote!
  18. I've got to ask... Is there anyone on this board that is voting for Trump? Of all the people I talk with, I know of one person that is a Trump fan. Most people I've talked with are no longer looking at Trump as a good candidate. Maybe my world is too small!
  19. Wow! I know not to believe EVERYTHING that I read on the Internet, but now I have to question what I hear on Limbaugh? Say it ain't so, my burnt-orange bro! Not el rushbo! Kinda figures... Thanks for clearing that up. I still blame CNN for the crap storm and trying to make news instead of reporting it. Let's see what happens next in New Hampshire.
  20. While you are blasting the Cruz campaign, add Rubio's to the list. They were doing the same. The bottom line is the original misinformation or disinformation came from CNN. They all jumped on it and hurt Dr Carson's feelings. Trump is being a sore loser and slinging crap to see if it will stick. I don't know which bothers me more; The Republicans cannibalizing each other or the Democrats candidates buttering up to Hillary. I'm beginning to tire of the sideshows.
  21. Not enough hate for her! While I disagree with everything Sanders is about, his integrity is valid. Hillary Clinton has no integrity. I can't understand anyone who works for a living supporting either of the Democrats.
  22. tvc, of course you are right. I'm thinking that high school sports are just games, and kids are there to learn. Truthfully, high school sports are a business with jobs, careers and scholarships depending on the outcome of children's sports and games. Kinda Pollyanna on my part...
  23. The difference is people had a choice whether to give money to Madoff, or not. As workers, we have no choice. I've long held the belief that the borrowed spending the politicians is treasonous. The have not only squandered the labors of our generation, but many generations to follow. Every politician that participated in these acts should be held accountable. It will never happen.
  24. While I'm not a true political junkie, I found the coverage of the Iowa Caucuses fascinating. Turned into a 3-man race with Cruz and Rubio outperforming the polls and Trump sliding a little. The thing that blows me away is Jeb Bush. Spent 55 million and garnered 3% of the vote. The Hillary/Bernie numbers are astounding. Rubio gave the best speech of the night. Final thoughts... I can't see why any working American would vote for an avowed socialist or a lying criminal gun-grabber. The other perplexity is Evangicals supporting Trump. The circus moves to New Hampshire...
  25. I'd like to add another perspective... When my kid was little he played Little Dribblers basketball. There was one kid on the team that, while the same age, far exceeded all other kids on the team, and the league, for that matter. I talked with his Dad; he was getting nothing out of this excercise, and the rest of the team wasn't either. If the minature Larry Bird stayed with the team, we would've won every single game and all got a trophy. Instead, he moved on, and we were a mediocre team at best, but all the kids got a chance to learn and play. That's what the league is for.. so kids can learn and play. I kinda feel the same with this news story. At that level, winning isn't the most important thing.
