2. My vote is for Diboll and Kirbyville. What say you?
 3.
By the way, it's an educated opinion.  I have seen Jasper twice this year play teams on down years.  Squeaked by Lumberton and Kirbyville.  Not too impressive.
I gotta concur with the TRUTH. This has been a disappointing year, at least thus far.
 4.
Im going to go ahead and say it. Jasper is the trashiest team I've ever seen in my life next to the comfort bobcats. They take deliberate shots late and taunt more than I've ever seen.  I hope they get killed first round of playoffs.
Bitter much?

 6. Center has had their 2 last district games come down to the wire and lose both. If they miss they\ playoffs, I'm sure those 2 games will haunt them.
 7. Yes, they could. But, I don't think they will.

 9.

Until then, it seems that everyone can score 30 points or more on these Jasper teams of late.
It's a shame. I read this sentence again and immediately thought of the '82 team that was 12-0 in 4A going into the Willowridge playoff game and had only allowed 23 points all season. It's hard to fathom giving up points like we do these smaller schools. I know people were hard on the coaches that were there because we never won it all, but I would take that success back in a heartbeat. I'm sure a lot of my fellow Bulldogs would, too...
Yep, those were the good times. But, the runs in 2001 (last year in 4A that ended with the Region 3 final against Bay City), 2002 and 2003 (both semi-finals ended against Burnet, durnit) and 2004 (final championship against Gilmer) were pretty good, too.
 10. I agree - the team and coaches are getting acquainted with one another and will get better. I'm not ready to write them off - let's give them some time.

 15. Newton is looking really good this year. But, so is Silsbee. Newton's improvement has been greater overall, though. I think this will be a tight game - I'd be very surprised if either team wins by more than 10 points. I'm going with Silsbee by 6.

 17. Hemphill is getting used to a new coach in a new system. West Sabine is pretty established and seems to have picked up where they left off last year. I'm picking West Sabine. This has been an exciting rivalry for many years and I'm hoping everyone leaves it all on the field (please no off-the-field shenanigans)!
 18. The team still has a lot to work on as evidenced by the weaknesses Lumberton exposed in the second half on Friday. But, they are progressing and are more concerned about how good they will be at the end of the regular season.

 20. I'm thinking Newton will be playing with a lot of emotion for this game. They have one of their former coaches back, but as the head coach this time. And, the LEGEND we've been used to seeing on the sidelines for so many years won't be there to open the season. Finally, they want revenge for the last two years. For these reasons, I'm picking Newton.

 22. I'm used to the Zero Week game being Labor Day weekend. The season caught me off guard this year. I guess there's not a whole lot to look forward to when you don't know what to expect...still excited for the season to start though!
