1. Wasn't WS's property vandalized before or after the game last year? I hope things don't get out of hand.

 3.
Good stuff. Good luck this year Jasper. We are pulling for y'all!
Same here! Glad to see Newton on top again!
 4.
It is hard to tell from a scrimmage, but sure sounds like Barbay & Co. are off to a great start... I wish yall a good season, except the one game of course... ;D
Yep, scrimmages can be deceiving. I remember 2003 we looked horrible in scrimmages and not too great in pre-season and went on to the 2nd straight semi-final game against Burnet. That was a very special team. Then, a few years ago, we looked unstoppable in scrimmages and either we failed to make the playoffs or lost really bad in the 1st round - I can't exactly remember (mental block, LOL!).
 5. We started out the year much stronger than we ended. We were just not good as a team.
 6.
Superintendent resigned today! Wow! Smell funny yet? :o
No superintendent lasts long - just waiting on this one to happen, as well. It's hard to make improvements when no one really wants anything to change.
 7. Both are at fault. The JISD Admin should've learned their lesson from hiring Lauve and Bickham. They should have hired someone with ties to the area. I always thought it was a bad idea to hire Morgan. But, trusted that the JISD Admin knew what they were doing. And, I trusted that Morgan would be a professional and at least stick to a two-year contract. Unless he's leaving for health reasons or he was being forced to do something illegal or unethical, there is no good reason why he should have broken his contract, especially at this time of year. If he felt like he needed to leave, then he should have done so in January - very unprofessional on his part.
 8.
Well I will let it out the bag cause jisd is a joke.i got called this morning and was told that chris coleman wouldnt renew his contract cause jack alvarez wanted to come to jasper.if this is true then chris coleman needs to go and yes every coach is leaving.what phone call I got
I find this one hard to believe considering JISD could've hired Alvarez when Morgan was hired. Something dramatic would've had to have happened in order for this to be true. I could see JISD wanting to wait until next school year to extend and Coach Morgan feeling like he's done a good enough job to be extended now. Maybe that's it...We'll never know the full truth. But, it's kinda fun to speculate.
 9.
Jasper is a circus!! :o There is one man behind all this and it's not right.
Who's the ringmaster?
 10.
With Morgan leaving and a new hire to come, that will make 4 different AD/HC for Jasper in the last 6 years. That sounds like more of an administration problem than a personnel one.
Many in Jasper are thinking the same. I was very pleased with what he had done for the kids - more scholarships that I have ever seen in a single year AND fewer kids failing classes.
 11. Real proud to see this - congrats to the kids and coaches! I don't remember us signing so many in one year.
 12. I didn't see this coming - I thought Kirbyville would beat Rusk pretty easily. But, congrats to Rusk and congrats to Kirbyville on making the playoffs after a rough start.
 13.

Touchdown chapel hill 42-14 chapel hill :8 left in half
LOL
Bless your heart.
 14. One of the things I love about late fall is high school playoff games on a Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately, my home team - Jasper - is predicted to go one and out against the top-ranked 3A team.
 15.
Okay jasper I work in tyler now and they ae talkin how they are going to kill y'all. Good luck jasper let's beat chapel hill (:
Thanks for the support! We'll see what we can do.  ;)
 16. Congrats Karrion! Does anyone know if he has any interest from colleges?
 17.
Plus, Morgan has not only done it on the field but off the field as well. Jasper had a 78 percent athletic pass rate last year - that's up to 95 percent right now.
This is the accomplishment I'm most impressed with. Most of these kids will not be playing at the college level, and far less will be playing on Sundays. So, the emphasis on education is of utmost importance.

 19. Something tells me Huffman and Liberty stay where they are. And, Jasper and Buna go south.
District 16-3A Rusk 570 Diboll 502 Huntington 544 Jasper 729 Center 624 Buna 477 ------------- District 20-3A Silsbee 822 Bridge City 762 West Orange-Stark 689 Hardin-Jefferson 570 Hamshire-Fannett 533 Orangefield Huffman Hargrave 962.5 Liberty
20. I think this game will be similar to Kirbyville's game with Diboll.
 21.
Well being real here Jasper needs a win so they can say they had a good season because when it comes time to play Chapel Hill I don't expect a win from the bulldogs. I support the bulldogs but Chapel Hill is in a whole other class.
Agreed...They need to let the team finish out the regular season with an outright district championship.

 23. I think Kirbyville is putting the pieces together and getting their swagger back. This Jasper Bulldog fan thinks they pull out the next 2. If they can do that, they can be proud considering how the year started. And once the playoffs start, it's a new season. It's not how you start, but how you finish.
