You know, I think the problem most WOS fans have with you Gilmer folks on this and other boards is that you say these things as if you've cornered the market in them. I got news for you, the WOS coaching staff has been together far longer than any 90's run at another school. The core of this group have been together since the school began in 77. They wrote the book on fundamental football, discipline and execution. You guys have been successful since, what, 2003? You are just babies to state prominence, we've been running with the "big dogs" for 30 years. We've been to the title game 4 times in 30 years and own the best winning percentage in ALL of Texas Highschool football... EVER... IN ANY CLASS. So... no you don't corner the market in discipline, coaching, experience or anything else... your Buckeyes are just going to have to go out and be better than WOS because that's the only way they can win. It will not be due to an intangible. Oh yeah, we have played Ennis so thank you for your prediction... we played them when we were still in 4A in the 2000 state finals... they won, but the score was 38-24. So much for us not being able to stay on the field with them. Great post Gasilla!!

I believe the chain gang can contain Gilmer's rushing game, but looks like the secondary may be in for a workout. This worries me. How does the Stangs secondary stack up against Gilmer's recievers?

After reading this article, I'm getting a little more nervous than before. I have confidence in the "chain gang" though.

No one WOS has face this year has put up those kind of rushing numbers.

Way to hang in there and scrap hard LCM. I wasn't there but sounds like yall saved your best effort for the last game. Don't hang your heads, next year may be better. Work harder in the off season like yall never have worked before and try to get more kids involved and be TOTALLY dedicated to only one thing, ''FOOTBALL". good things will eventually happen.

Well as far as not making it past the 2nd or 3rd round, I unfortunetly would have to agree with you there. Not meaning this in a bad way but the district WOS is in does not offer much competition which hurts WOS in the playoffs. Again not wanting to offend any of the other schools, but the level of play, speed, strength and aggressiveness on the football field is not even close.

What do you expect WO-S to do? Kneel the ball each play after they are winning by a certain number? If I'm a coach and my 2nd and 3rd string is still better than your 1st string then maybe you should do something to improve your team. You obviously don't know know Coach Hooks either. Than man has more class than you could ever imagine.

Has to be the "Dome". It was WO-S' home away from home in the mid to late '80's. Sad that a whole generation of Texas high schoolers have grown up not knowing the thrill of seeing a playoff game there or playing there for that matter.

Don't have enough players? I don't understand how that can happen at a 4A school? Numbers should not be a problem at a school like LCM. Something needs to happen to get more kids involved. That said I wish the kids that are playing the best of luck this week, especially the seniors as they play thier last game. To those I say, play hard, and leave nothing left on the field once its over, for this game you'll probably remember for the rest of your lives.

Better enjoy you hunting while you can fella's, with this new party getting into the White House, our hunting heritage and all shooting sports will be under attack like never before. Stock up on ammo and guns, they may be very hard to come by in the future. >
