  1. What is the word on the Jags job? Do you guys have anyone in mind? What was the problem that Stowers had with the folks at Central? I know I heard he was unhappy with someone and or something.
  2. The difference in the game tonight was the turnovers by Dawkins. Many were just lazy passes or mental lapses that led to a hand ful of easy buckets on the other end. Take better care of the ball and cut his to's in half and Lamar get's W.
  3. Anyone else notice that Tom Haliburton does no research? "Faircloth has coached such outstanding athletes as former University of Texas and current Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Roy Williams while working under head coach Darren Allman on the Panthers coaching staff." Faircloth joined the Permian staff in 2006. In 2006 Roy Williams had 1300 yards receiving and 9td's...for the DETROIT LIONS! But totaly failed to report that he did coach potential first overal pick in this years draft in QB Mathew Stafford durring their state championship season in 2005. Tom is a tool!
  4. Another name on the list with HC experience that didn't get interviewed was Darrell Andrus (HC at CC Flour Bluff). He has done a good at FB in a short period.
  5. I liked Faircloth as the potential HC without HC experience when Danaher and Stumps names were out there. With his history with Westlake he may have a good shot at that job, but if PNG offers before Westlake begins it's process, I would think he would take the PNG job because waiting for the Westlake job would be a gamble. I wonder if we will see Danahers name on the Westlake list? If I were him that Westlake job would be a sweet way to end your career!
  6. Sharing a facility is not a big deal for the fans, because they just show up and watch. But for a coach, his staff and the players it is a real pain in the butt. Every game requires a set of bus trips, can't just relax or do much last minute gameplanning before the game or after the game. Getting the equipment to and from becomes a hassle. If the playing surface is different than the practice surface it becomes an issue especially on rainy gamedays. You always feel like you are the visiting team because the locker room is not home. Craig never had to deal with that at TJ, but the SFA and Lincoln folks know what I am talking about!
  7. I agree with Billy. The unreal number of fouls (many nit picky) played right inot the hands of SH. Hard to run when you are taking the ball out after free throws all night. So we got teed up for our player saying something to an official (Roc does need to cool it, his was warranted) and they have a guy foul out and stare down an official as he walks by him, then bumps him and nothing?? I pay to watch basketball, not the men in stripes. Someone needs to point that out to them!
  8. H E L L I thought Charles Breithaupt was the director! He's the guy we see and hear from all the time.
  9. You no way to much about Garret not to be him! This info is not readily available. Not sure I like the idea of a HC candidate on a local MB trying to sell himself. If you are not Garrett then give us your name or PM me with who you are and who you coach for. Otherwise we should all assume that you are Garrett and that ain't good!
  10. I gotta say Jay Brown is twice the player that I thought he was last year. Big suprise on both ends of the floor. Not sure I can remember a 6'7" guy at LU that blocked shots like he does??
  11. Ya'll had exactly that with Danny Malone. And we could have it again with Chris Garrett! He has already had coaches from Plano, Allen and Duncanville that said they would go anywhere with him. Are you Garretts agent? : Give it a rest already. You do realize that we don't get a say in who they choose. You are lobbying to the wrong people! Besides if you look at the programs Faircloth has coached at you would see the same. Westlake and Highland Park are synonymous with Championships as is Permian.
  12. Ditto. That kid is a beast. Even though he tears up opposing backfields (PNG's included) he also makes our boys better by pushing them to their limits.
  13. Are you the guy? The former player that Danaher speaks of in his interview? Good post, sounds like someone with Phill's ear! I heard the same from someone regarding his intent for the PNG job and reasons.
  14. IndianCat, did you play for Danaher at CCC?
  15. Sorry, must have missed when you asked! Someone on staff!
  16. So which is it, he "isn't leaving WB" or you "don't believe he'll leave WB"? ;D
  17. Whatever? : You realize how ridiculous that is right? 6 wins in 18 years. That says all I need to know! Back on topic. I would be very happy with either, Danaher, Stump and even Faircloth has a pretty good resume as an upstart. Faircloth offenses have been impressive and he is used to winning (Permian, Highland Park and Westlake).
  18. Yeah he turned them all around and has 6 playoff wins in 18 years to prove how great he is! So if Haynes is so great (with his 6 playoff wins) what is the knock on Stump (with his 6 playoff wins)?
  19. Exactly one deep playoff run, Semifinals is a deep playoff run. I am not knocking what the man has done, but he is not on the same level as Hooks or Barbay, yet!
  20. Break that 12-11 record down by year for us please! Also, WB had an Emergency Football Staff meeting after school today!!!
  21. What makes them so great? 1. Hooks has won in 5A, 4A and 3A with multiple state titles (and lots of years)! He is great. 2. Barbay has won at the 3A and 4A levels with multiple state titles (and lots of years)! He is great. 3. Neuman has built a good program at Nederland, no state titles and only one deep playoff run (lots of years). Not great, but very good. Now, would you have taken anyone of these coaches after four years of there career? Probably not unless you could see the future. You take a risk on a young guy based on what he has done in a short period of time and hope it continues as in Hooks, Barbay and Neuman! Stump has done a very good job in a short period in his first public school gig you can't deny that. And I am so tired of you saying that he wins because of the talent. The same talent was there when Rabb was there and he couldn't win! Plus Stump has won as many playoff games in four years at WB as your self proclaimed great coach at Hardin (Haynes) has in 20 years.
  22. I'm sure he got what he wanted out of having his name on the list and being publisized! wonder how much they bumped him at LH to stay. This is what's wrong with the list being made public before hand! Schools wasting time and money to interview candidates that really have no interest other than to squeeze more money out of their current employers.
  23. If Stump made the move they'd play in the big one each year! You sure your paying attention here? ;D
  24. I want a coach that sees if we have the athletes that throwing the ball is best, then do it. If we have the type of athletes to run the ball north to south down your throat then he does that.Whatever it takes to get a W. This is what I am talking about. I want a guy that adjusts to his talent each year. Not someone that is going to try and put a square plug in a round hole just because that is what he is used to! After researching, Danaher has mixed it up quite a bit over the years. I like that. I also like some of the different things that Faircloth has done with Permian and HP before (not sure about his involvement in the playcalling at Westlake, but I know he is used to winning!).
  25. Well, if that's the case, it's a good thing the applicant list got released. Now LH will know he is putting his hat in the ring for another job. Just think, if the list had never been released he wouldn't have had a bargaining chip. ;D ;D ;D From what I hear Danaher was the applicant that asked that they try and keep the list from the media. If true then it should say a little about his intentions. As far as Vance and is offense is concerned, PNG has been a run, run, pass, punt offense for so long now, I think alot of people are leary of running even more. I agree you can run to a state title if you are mixing it up and play good defense, but we had that here and it just wasn't getting it. I think we want something a little different. But if they do hire Vance I won't argue with the sucess!
