  1. With the exception of a few, most of the schools in the SETX area have subpar facilities
  2. Wasn't referring to you or BISD specifically, Soulja However, trying to defend BISD is like building a house on sinking sand. Hopefully, the new admin rights the ship before long.
  3. I don't understand why people get defensive regarding their poor facilities. I think the point of this thread is to bring attention to the fact that the DFW Metroplex is ahead of the Greater Houston Area/SE Texas in terms of facilities. Looking at the facts, it's irrefutable. I doubt many of the members of this board would vote against new/better facilities for their respective schools, whether athletic or academic.

  5. Barbers Hill - just wrapped up construction on theirs
  6. Personally, I agree with the coalition of people who'd take the facilities. There is a definite pride quality facilities gives a team and a community, but that doesn't discount anything teams have accomplished without them. I attended a school with poor facilities and we performed admirably. I've lived in the DFW, Greater Houston and East Texas areas and have attended high school football games at each stop. DFW is light years ahead of most in terms of facilities, especially south of I-20 and east of 1-35. Last I checked Allen, Aledo, Cedar Hill and Argyle have all won recent state championships and have a decent academic standing with the state. I could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time and it won't be the last for sure.
  7. I don't think anyone is arguing that. In comparison to West Brook's Conroe/Humble schedule, it isn't worse.
  8. Soulja had asked what if, I wasn't sure which Div they would be in.
  9. Is that the District they'd be in if they'd stayed down? District 12 -4A Div 2 Hamshire-Fannett Liberty Orangefield Hardin-Jefferson West Orange-Stark Farthest trip would be a 40 minute drive to Liberty, everything else is within 20 minutes. Ozen and WOS in the same district would be scary in 4A-Div 2
  10. Gonna miss watching the Old District 21-6A Had the pleasure of watching some good games with PAM, West Brook, Deer Park, La Porte and North Shore over the last few years. Now I'm gonna have to split some time between the New District 21-6A and 22-6A.
  11. I had figured that 21-6A would change some with PAM going down and GCM coming up (even swap with 22-5A). With CE King moving up, I really thought that maybe just North Shore would get moved to a different district. I didn't think that they would dismantle the district completely.
  12. District 10-4A Div 1 Bridge City Cleveland Huffman Hargrave Livingston (brutal drive) Navasota (even more of a brutal drive) Little Cypress-Mauriceville Silsbee The rest are manageable distances - BISD is well renowned for their decision making skills
  13. Is there really that big of difference in terms of travel distance between the local 5A district compared to the local 4A big school district? I could be wrong - it has happened many times before
  14. Jack Lynch, been doing it for 30+ years at CO Wilson. The man is truly selfless and outs everything into gettin junior high athletes ready for HS.
  15. Nederland - La Suprema on 365                 - The Schooner also on 365               - Butchers Korner on Boston Ave               - Eaton's Meats on Nederland Ave Groves - Larry's French Market Port Neches - BJ's BBQ Bridge City - Tequila's Lumberton - Dippity's I know I've been to some hole in the wall places that were awesome in Port Arthur and Orange, but I'm not sure of their names.
  16. Will these guys coach themselves? If you have to use alumni then I guess Kevin Barbay and Monte Barrow could do Nederland. Maybe Matt Burnett for png?
  17. That's neat Should be fun to watch. Hopefully both communities will show suPport
  18. So is this thing really going down? Is it broken into age divisions or is the class of 1961 gonna go head to head with the class of 2011?
  19. Big plays and turnovers killing LP Singleton and Seales are legit PA coaches have no class
  20. Alright fellas, I've got a question. Winner of this game takes on eithe Steele or Reagan, both San Antonio schools. One could assume they would claim the Alamodome, if there were to be a home and home flip. Any ideas on potential sites for the semis?
  21. La Porte vs PA Memorial Saturday 1 pm Reliant Stadium - Houston, TX 1st Meeting determined the district championship. Now, the winner will represent Region 3 in the 5A semifinals
  22. They beat Clear Springs which is a pretty solid 5A team, I think they won their district
