  1. I'm sure that B. Spell expects Brady to step up an take over the roll of the Go To WR, but like what's been said, only time will tell. I think that this district is wide open. There isn't really an odds on favorite this year. Some schools (Ned, Vidor, and Lumb) have a good core of players returning. Others have new coaches and possible new found sense of self. Should be interesting and I can't wait to see what happens.
  2. A) Oregon's uniforms are legit I thought he was goin for the TCU uni look. I know the helmets have it, but I was expecting more of the TCU Black and Purple thing goin on... IMO
  3. I agree with what your're saying totally But.... Nederland had a 2-2 non district schedule result in 2005 ;D Wins against Texas City and Friendswood, losses to West Brook and West Orange-Stark
  4. Does anyone remember the 2005 Vidor team that was "scrappy" and had TWENTY returning starters? Would some one like to explain what happened then?
  5. An assistant said theres a strong possibility of Frog goin to lamar
  6. Nederland High School graduate of 2008, Ryan Sampere, signed with McNeese State Univerity today in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He had spent the 2008-09 season with Galveston College.

  8. I don't think that I would call that "attacking" really. Dude was just saying the kid doesn't take getting hit well. Geez lol! Most QB's are taught to get back up quickly, dust themselves off, and sattle up again. I've personally seen some times where Bellow has milked it on the field, but I have also seen him play thru it. He's a good kid and has done well the last 2 seasons. But I do see not having Asa being a problem for him, due to his being able to catch the ball within arms reach lol! I hope Barrow works with Kirby on making his progressions, and he should be fine.
  9. Bench press hardly translates to much on the football field, especially at RB. LEGS mean everything!!! I can give my left gonad if a RB can throw up 300+. Give me a back that can put up a 550+ squat and 300+ powerclean!!! Which apparently MIchaels, Grogan and Hanna can do Michaels is in a class all by himself, nuff said, discussion over, PERIOD! Now, the #2 spot is definitely up for debate: My vote goes to Grogan of Nederland, the kid must have 36" thighs. Runs thru defenses like a hot knife thru butter, and has the second gear after the 2nd level of defense to take it the distance
  10. Just like back in the day! Nice! It was always a thrill walking off the bus, seeing all of the fans cheering for us as we walked into the dressing room. Guess it's my turn to cheer the boys on once they pull in. Lookin forward to it, bringin the fam and the in-laws with me (Lumberton fans). Should be a blast
  11. Good job boys! Great TEAM win! Smith looked like Cool Hand Luke at the helm, Schlett made some clutch catches, and Adams was in on almost every tackle. Thats a way to step it up! Hope Brady and Bellow get well soon
  12. After Neumann got onto the D for underperforming in the 1st Quarter, Landry and Lovelday really kicked it up. Along with N. Cardenas and Maddox, those 4 are the heartbeat of the defense. Good job for Adams, showed alot of heart for a little guy Congrats Dogs, take it to Magnolia
  13. Coach McGallion told me the team will be comprised of 3 types of players: 1) High School Recruits (ie Cardenas and Tatum) 2) Guys w/ experience who attend Lamar: *Names mentioned were Ryan Butler (Ned WR/DB, Class of 06, played at Trinity Valley CC), Brad Croak (Vidor WR/DB, Class of 07). Brett Ramset (OF QB, Class of 07, played at Louisiana College), Zac Skinner (Silsbee OL, Class of 06, played at Blinn), and Zach Bass (Ned OL, Class of 2006, played at UMHB) 3) He also said they wanted to "sprinkle" in JUCO guys I CANT WAIT for some Lamar Football
  14. Well, this unnamed coach hasn't done much with what he's had at LCM. Albeit, it's not like he's been working with the cream of the crop. Kids don't respond to him and obviously his assistants don't know what's goin on. Seems alot like Fisher's last year or two in L-Town. In the end, the LCM administration should do what's best and hire someone who can lead them to greener pastures. Now to the game: With all of the dissaray and confusion in Bear Country, I see the Bulldogs running wild in this one. Though historically, LCM normally gives Big Ned a run for their money. As long as Nederland can keep a consistent balanced attack offensively and 11 gold hats flying to the football on defense, they'll be fine in district play. Nederland 45 - LCM 7
  15. All of which are currently attending Lamar I remember watching Butler when he was at Nederland, that kid was an athlete! Bass wasn't too shabby either, he was the anchor of the O-Line his senior year
  16. Nederland 3rd and 7 at the 47 w/ 6 seconds left to play -pass is completed and time runs out Nederland 7 - Ozen 7 Halftime
  17. Nederland DL, Marcus Louviere, sacks Moore for an 11 yard loss 3rd and long for Ozen - Pass by ozen is short 4th and 11 for Ozen - they go for it, Nederland picks it off 1st down at the Ozen 14 yard line for Nederland
  18. HB Pass by Ozen awards them a 1st down inside the Nederland 40
  19. Ozen has a little march goin on 2nd and 4 at the Nederland 49 3:30 in the 1st
  20. Ozen stifles Nederland and forces them to punt Ozen takes over, 1st and 10 at the 17
  21. Kirby Bellow lets one fly and Vidrine catches it and takes it to the 4 Nederland is flagged for ineligible man down field, and is penalized 10 yards
  22. Wareall churns out another good gain for a 1st down Nederland 1st and 10 at their 47
  23. Nederland causes Ozen to go 3 and out for the 3rd time in thde 1st half Nederland takes over at their 32 -Grogan gets the ball and carries it to the 38
