1. Lynch has done plenty at C.O. That man is an ICON. He has dedicated his life to developing young players so they are ready to play when they arrive at the high school. If anything, Nederland is lucky to have a man like that at the junior high level. He's a hard-nose, old school coach with amazing work ethic. Its a darn shame you would say that about his program at CO Wilson MS. **Now, what I can't comment on, is the other MS, Central
2. I'm so happy for those boys at Legacy. They needed this win!
3. Do they know for sure if Forney is cleared, or is that just rumor. Just because the paper says he was out 3-6 weeks, doesn't necessarily mean he'll be back by then.
4. They'll open up the passing game gradually w/ Raines. They're bot going to let a sophomore just sling it this early in the year.
5. Every team has some players that have less than ideal attitudes. If Neumann and Barrow have him sitting, its for a good reason. Also, wish him a speedy recovery, if he's is injured.
6. I think this game will be a great measuring stick for these 2 teams to see where their respective teams are at the beginning of the season. It'll give the coaches a picture of adjustments in personnel and strategy.
7. From what I have heard Carson Raines (Sophomore) has been working at 2nd team QB. Also, a good baseball player.
8. Berry Athletic Complex in Cy-Fair. Most mid-major colleges would kill to play there
9. Does anyone know of the release date of their Greater Houston Area high school football preview?
10. Both players bring something to the table: Smith is a game manager and has the ability to get the ball to everybody. He moves the offense down the field methodically. Forney has the most upside in regards to overall talent. He has the "big play" ability coaches like in a playmaker. However, he's very high risk/high reward in his QB play. He also can play WR/TE or DE. Nederland is returning 4 experienced WRs and have picked up Chris Cunningham from the basketball team (good size and good ups) who will contribute immediately. Coaches will pick the QB who puts the team in the best position to win.
11. 1st: Forney showed some moments (MOMENTS) of good QB play. He has tremendous potential and some raw talent. I think he may have even thrown for 1000 yards during his starts last season. Now that I've established some POSITIVE points, I'm going to analyze his play/ability/work ethic. Here are some stats: quality collegiate/NFL caliber offensive lineman typically clock in at 5.0 seconds in the 40, while interior DT's clock in at 4.9. Forney says he ran a 4.85, that's not fast. FYI Dionte, don't try to prove you're fast (or not slow) by stating an average 40 time to prove people wrong. I think that his post was the longest run-on sentence I've ever read lol!
12. I personally enjoy soccer, but that's neither here nor there lol! Nederland has #2 Dionte returning at the trigger along with 3 experienced wideouts in #12 Schlett, #4 Salenga and #9 Sonnier. The defense also returns quite a few with at least some game experience. DBs: #20 Kemp, #9 Sonnier, #85 Alpough, #24 H. Butler, #14 B. Butler and #10 Ridgaway. LBs: #45 Brown and #29 Delord; plus #54 Bill and #18 Carr on the DL. I believe that a productive off season along with the development of some talented kids from the freshman group will put the Dogs right back in the mix of things next season.
13. Since some of our teams are done for the season, I thought it would be neat to possibly voice concerns or excitement for next season. Who is coming back? Any JV/Freshman that can be contributors next year? Etc...
14. I've watched Cinco play a few times this season. Their offense is very methodical with a triple option approach out of the Flex-Gun. The defense is pretty stout as well and makes solid adjustments. Should be a good matchup and one I'm looking forward to this one.
15. I was just saying I hope we don't take anyone lightly, not that they will. Things can happen, and teams on a roll sometimes are lulled into a false sense of security. I see the Dogs winning this one, especially if they play like they have been the last 2 weeks.
16. I just hope the Dogs don't take Lumberton lightly, they've had our number the last 2 seasons. I don't think Neumann will allow our new found confidence blind us this week anyway. BTW - I don't if Raider fans should be throwing the history card out there lol! Given Lumberton has beat us the last 2 years. Other than that, Nederland has brutalized the Raiders. All this being said, I hope the Dogs stay focused snd punch their ticket to the dance for the 12th time in 13 years. Ned by 14
17. Ok thanks for clearing that up! Simple math for Big Ned and Vidor: WIN = IN
18. Do any of the brilliant minds out there have some idea of who would play whom with all of the different playoff scenarios taking place? As far as I know, if Nederland and Vidor win: Div I matchups: Goose Creek vs Central - Crosby vs Nederland Div II Matchups: Dayton vs Vidor - Barbers Hill vs PN-G Everything else is beyond me with all of the point differentials and head-to-head stuff, just hoping someone can step in and clarify a few things please  ;D
19. Weather should be clearing up somewhat around 6 this evening. Will be muddy, but little or rain during play. I'm taking Nederland by 10
20. People from Nederland don't think they're better than anyone. Where would you get that idea?
