  3. Old School - I'm not implying you made anything up, hoss Just sayin you came out swingin this morning after I made a joke. Your avatar tells me everything I need to know. All hail the grumpy cat lol!
  4. Would appear someone woke up in a mood this morning... and with the inability to pick up on humor. I hope your day improves Old School - you sound aurnry
  5. Are you advocating the entire removal of SETX? This website is a guilty pleasure of mine, I'd like to keep it for the time being.
  6. Possibly Toby Foreman Who wouldn't want to leave BISD?
  7. Whoever you want! I'd go with the latter
  8. Got it on tap at the house You should bring Keith and them
  9. Going off what teams have coming back and what I saw from the previous season, my feeble mind predicts the following going into Week 11: Vidor (2-5) vs PA Memorial (7-0): PAM plays their Freshman 2nd string while resting their bellcows heading into the playoffs. Vidor laments the day that Port Arthur dropped to 5A. Port Neches-Groves (6-1) vs Nederland (6-1): Both w/ Losses to PAM, battle for 2nd in District. Larry and BF secretly agree to play the 2s in the second half to see what they have coming "next season" so the old timers can drink coffee and debate games from the 1950s about which school is better. A mysterious 8th grade kicker puts it though the uprights for the win. Venues, dates and times for playoff opponents were made well in advance of Mid County Madness. Lee (1-6) vs Central (4-3): Central gets into the playoffs with a 5th win, Foreman waves his towel around getting the Jaguar faithful pumped for a Bi-District game at the Butch. Livingston (0-7) vs Ozen (3-4): Ozen finishes district play @ 4-4 and misses the playoffs due to losses at the hands of PAM, PNG, Nederland and Central. They can care less because it's basketball season, and Livingston's punishment for submitting false numbers is finally at a close. Lumberton (3-5) Bye: Coach knows how to roll out the balls for basketball tryouts.

  11. A lot of the "teachers" they had in those classrooms weren't certified teachers at all. The ones that were let go were either long terms subs that weren't the teacher of record for that class or emergency hires under emergency certifications.. In fact, some of the teachers of record didn't even go to that class, they just had to have one on file in order to receive state funding for that section of the subject. The students would see "Mrs. Smith" as their Algebra teacher on their schedule, but "Mrs. Smith" never showed up to class. It was taught by a long term sub for the duration of the school year.
  12. My son is the best dang towel boy that ever donned the cloth, Jockstrap! He could out dry a football on a stormy SETX night before you could say Chattahoochie!
  13. Week 8 = Everyone gets to play! The waterboy and towelboy will be getting smooches from the Homecoming Queen!
  14. BISD is 1 of 18 school districts in the State of Texas out of around 1200 to be put on Accredited-Warned status
  15. How so? Not trying to buck the system, but that wasn't the case when La Marque was being questioned was it?
  16. According to Channel 12 News: BREAKING: BISD on Accredited-Warned status from TEA. One of only 18 of our state's 1,205 districts warned to improve. Details on #12newssetx
  17. I follow SETX/Greater Houston in general I'm not from here, but I guess you could say I follow the mid county schools the closest. Co-workers' kids, blah blah blah I got to watch Central vs Nederland and PN-G. Central's line was suspect at best, the QB was indecisive and they've graduated their best offensive weapon. I'll give you that the defense was pretty solid. However, Central lost to Ned and PNG, and were taken to the wire by Lumberton. All in all, I don't see them winning the district. I've been wrong before, and I'll be the first to tell you: You told me so.
  18. Hahaha! Having Lumberton as #1 is almost as hilarious as having Central there! It's PAM, then the Mid County Schools and either Central or Ozen bringing up the rear. Let Vidor, Livingston, Lumberton and Lee fight it out for the toilet bowl!
  19. He may be ready to bounce from The Sota if he is getting jerked around by an omniscient school board
  20. Any chance Silsbee tries to snag Lee Fedora, I hear he's looking for a new gig
