  1. Thanks VHS for giving an explanation to the rivalry mystery. As well as one of the most unbiased game predictions I have heard from vidor fans this week. Good luck to Vidor, go get em Dogs!
  2. I'm just curious as to why people from Vidor consider this a rivalry game. Because both teams have the same school colors maybe, I don't know... Would appreciate it if someone could point it out to me tough...
  3. With 2 weeks left in the regular season, the playoff picture is taking shape: PNG 5-0 Central 5-0 Vidor 3-2 Ozen 2-3 Nederland 2-3 LCM 1-4 Livingston 1-4 Lumberton 1-4 I guess PNG and Central have mathematically clinched a spot. But what do you guys think about the remaining schedule? Who do you think is in or out?
  4. I haven't seen much footage on Vidor this year. If its the same offensive gameplan that they've had against Nederland the last few seasons, then the one dimensional stuff isn't gonna work. Vidor will need to mix some play action in there. Also, I hope Dionte isn't a one hit wonder. He was very impressive against Livingston, and we can only hope he builds on his success from Friday. I look for this to be a hard fought close game. Nederland will definitely put some new wrinkles in for a perennial over aggressive pirate defense. Neumann typically will find a way to get his team to the dance. Nederland 20 - Vidor 14
  5. My Nederland team (Neumann Era): QB Dustin Hood RB Micah Mosley RB Troy Sumrall FB Dustin Driskill TE Brett Wilson WR Ryan Butler WR Sean Yoder WR Jake Askew OL Scott Mayhew OL Tyler Nemeth OL Chris Loupe OL Casey Cuccia OL Chris Robbins DL Jeff Mayhew DL Ron Mohica DL Jared Bijeaux DL Chase Gentile LB Michael Boyd LB Aubrey Brisendine LB Darin Smith DB Josh Atterberry DB J. Galassi DB Ben McPherson DB Ryan Pilitere K/P Curtis Parks
  6. Its gonna be very interesting how this will play out over the next few weeks. Was wondering everyone elses opinions on the situation.
  7. 1) PNG 4-0 2) Central 4-0 3) Vidor 2-2 4) Ozen 2-2 5) Nederland 1-3 6) Lumberton 1-3 7) LCM 1-3 8) Livingston 1-3 * All records are district records PNG and Central technically don't have a lock on the playoffs, but one could say they have one foot out the door. Everyone else has a fair shot at 3 and 4 in my opinion.
  8. Its gonna take an act of God for Neumann to get that field turf. Nederland citizens came out in droves to vote against that bond issue. *I for one would like it, but I'm a little biased. If the elements are wet and muddy, I take Ned by 7
  9. I heard Larry is gonna flood the field thursday night before the game...
  10. Rain could affect this one tonight! Let's hope Ned has gotten over the turn over bug, and protects the ball tonight. LCM's pass happy offense may face some roadblocks if the weather gets too bad Should be a wet and wild night lol
  11. Maybe where you played ball But in my experiences, coaches have always preached getting north and south, get upfield, go score, or something along those lines. I'm not trying to start a knockdown dragout over some high school kids haves or have nots. I think he is a tremendous athlete, and if given the oppurtunity and proper timing, will make favorable contributions. No hostility from my end Baker, just honest opinions and experiences from a has been.
  12. Doesn't matter if you way 105 or 255, every skilled position player is taught to get north and south. Quickest way between two points is a straight line. Now, I'm not asking him to truck anybody, but I'm sure he can get upfield and make somethin happen. I've got the Dogs 20 - LCM 14
  13. Never said it was a stone fact, just the opinion of some. If we can simplify the offense for the time being, minimize penalties and turnovers, and control the clock, we'll have a better chance of winning the game
  14. Its the opinion of many that when a team switches to a spread type offense, the demeanor of the team begins to change. The players become finesse and lose that killer instinct. Now given there are the Southlakes and UTs of the world but they are few a far between. I agree with yall have to say, but will take it a step further. I am a huge fan of the spread offense, but you have to have the personnel to run it. I think its in the best interest of nederland to scrap it for now. Simplify the offense to give Atterberry the best chance to win. I, Pro, Twin tights, Ace, I really don't care. He needs to be under center, handing the ball off and chewing the clock.
  15. Was told that nederland may actually come out in a pro-style set offense. Whether that's a combination of lovelady and Cardenas remains to be seen, but it should take the strain off of Atterberry If he makes the start
  16. Don't know If "loaded" is the correct word, but they are deep at QB. Some teams wish they had that problem, If it is indeed a problem. If the team's leaders can step it up and go beyond the call of duty, Nederland should be competitive
  17. Hats off to both teams for a hard fought game. Sounds like it was a thriller
  18. What's Friendswood's record? How've they looked so far this season?
  19. 20-16 High Island over Legacy Hard fought game by both teams during sloppy conditions.
  20. If the D can step up their run defense and the offense can rally around Smith, I think nederland will be just fine
  21. Gonna be a good one at the Corral, always is. Just seems that in the past when so many pick against nederland to win it, they somehow find a way to pull it out (02 and 03 for example). Still will be close, nobody runs off on this one. Nederland 20 - WOS 17
  22. What exactly is the injury situation for both teams? Significant or temporary injuries? Key or role players? Just curious lol
