  1. I've been to all 3 high school in GCISD for various events, and the only school that appears to have decent facilities is GCM HS. That's because it's relatively new in terms of construction. Sterling's facilities are old and Lee is in El Barrio
  2. My man is talking sense now
  3. Anything with digital camo or all grey is terrible
  4. Shenanigans I was hearing rumblings of a former local coach with ties to PAM...
  5. ISD = Independent School District just sayin
  6. Regardless of who does the hiring; whether it's BISD Central Admin, Ozen's on campus Admin or a Posse of Booster Club members, it will not be coach from a Mid-County staff. I assure you of that.
  7. Everything official? Head ranger gonna ride in on a hippo to lead the team on the field for the first game?
  8. Ozen won't hire anyone from Mid County - fact
  9. Great 1st post Could your resource be The Old Coach?
  10. I like where your head's at Ranger - more power to you
  11. So, if Stallworth were a chick you were trying to pick up, you'd say ol Stally is a solid 4 or 5?
  12. I know you didn't say Sterling has nice facilities. I haven't been to a school in that district that has nice facilities. Stallworth is a relic and I've witnessed many a kid go down via the turf monster there. Toby was offered a job, took it, then decided against it. Suggs left/is leaving Ozen. Flanigan may or may not be the "Beaumont Coach" in this scenario. Sure speaks to the 'sterling' reputation of BISD. *Sorry - I just couldn't help myself!
  13. That's awesome for Anahuac Nice to see a community put "we want what's best for our kids" into action
  14. Suggs wasn't struggling when he was the Head Coach at PA Lincoln or Bmt Central
  15. I always enjoyed Old School's posts and agreed with him more times than not. However, I'll continue to soldier on and post my thoughts (hopefully within the parameters of the powers that be) regardless if it differs with another member's point of view.
  16. I never said turf should be a priority. I said that those schools who have had it installed have made it one. I've also said you don't need it to win, and of course schools would rather have a state championship over turf. My question is: Why not both?
  17. I don't think Old School is making the argument that they would've played better if they had turf. The argument he's making is that a turf field would be more cost beneficial than grass over a period of 10/15/20 years. I'd want my kids to have the best of the best, just like you and Old School both said. Who doesn't want turf, top of the line weight room and an indoor facility. i wouldn't compare the SETX area to that of the Greater Houston Area, DFW Metroplex, Austin/SA, CenTex...etc. The Dallas Area has 80+ indoor facilities compared to 2 in Houston/East Texas. Id venture to guess more teams that made the playoffs in the state of Texas have turf than others, I could be wrong. Numbers are relative. We all want the best, not everyone does what it takes to get it. It's called priorities.
  18. So, Lance Dale and Lumberton DC? Who does the HF Longhorn faithful want?
  19. SETX can be very proud of recent accomplishments. However, why stop there? Why not try to improve on previous success? What's wrong with upgrading facilities? I'm sure there is some cost/benefit ratio to installing turf rather than trying to maintain a grass field? That goes for the school house, technology in the classroom, updated busses, etc... If SETX schools are experiencing "success" with the current state of facilities/schools/etc, imagine what they could be with improvements across the board!
  20. True blessing these kids weren't hurt Prayers for the families and loved ones who must've been beyond worried and stressed
  21. If this guy is up in Washington State Tell to hit up ol ET with Seahawks - maybe there's something that could be arranged
