I wouldn't want every one to agree with me.  That's not normal.  As I stated, we will make a believer out of WOS which is different from saying that I want everyone to agree with me...  Just wait and see, Griff.
You insist on believing that Navasota is getting the shaft here.  Many of the comments you're referring to were from the LaMarque fans and LM is not part of the Golden Triangle.  The majority of us who are from Orange and follow WO-S are well-aware of how good your team is.  No one has to make a believer out of us.  It seems that Navasota fans have been more active in predicting a blowout against WO-S than the other way around.  We know Navasota is the best team we've seen this year, but the discrepancy comes from the Navasota fans.  The greater lack of respect, at least on this board, is coming from your fans.  That's OK...we're happy with being the underdog and we look forward to making a believer out of you that no one will beat us convincingly or blow us out.  Whoever wins will not win by much.  The team that executes best will win this.
 2.
Truth hurts, Reality bites and will settle in a week or so for the WOS following... I will leave it at that.  All year, Navasota hasn't played anyone... Navasota only passes... Navasota, this and Navasota that..  Navasota will lose to La Marque... La Marque will whip the floor with Navasota... La Marque 36 Navasota 21....  BLAH, BLAH, BLAH..etc...  Navasota goes up 24-6 on La Marque in the 3rd and chose to RUN.  Yes, RUN.  Navasota will be, I repeat, Navasota will be the best team that the Mustangs have seen.  I am not going to predict a blowout but Navasota will win and will do so convincingly.  And, there's no need to go back and forth all week...  We will make a believer out of WOS and the rest of the Golden Triangle.
Umm...Mr. Rattler...the same can be said about some of your Navasota followers.  Just scroll up and you'll see Cover 2's prediction of a blowout.  He's been popping off like that for two weeks.  As for BADSANTA, he's not from WO-S.  I believe he's a Silsbee person.  Most WO-S followers know about Navasota's success and potential.  You're always going to have a few outrageous prognosticators on a public message board like this one.  It seems you're only going to be satisfied if everyone just agrees with you that Navasota is going to win this game.  Sorry...but we're in this to win it, and you're team is in for a challenge.  If that bothers you, get over it.  If you win, we'll congratulate you.  If you lose...well...we'll see.
look at the second comment of the thread  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D maybe you should look a little more Mr Senior Poster
Well how about that...the "Rats" will score 6 according to him.  And do you or anyone else take that seriously?  No rational person from WO-S is predicting a shutout or a 6-point total.  I guess the freshman comment stung a little.  I could care less about the status of a poster.  It's just funny that you popped up all of a sudden, just like the 12345678 (same person?) and you will be gone shortly after the game is played, regardless of who wins.  'Happens every year at playoff time.
 4.
Wo-s will not score enough point to win this game no way no how sorry Mustangs.
Wow...impressive detailed analysis of the upcoming game.  I'm convinced.  'Hope the Mustangs just take your advice and stay home since they "will not score enough point."  ::)

 7.
first off let me asure you WO-S dose not play dirty football and you can take that to the bank. navasota is the #1 team in 3a as everone knows being #1 that mean your the best and by what has put up here on SETXsports thay look like thay cant be stoped thats why there #1. to us mustangs fans this game reminds us of the mustang gilmer game a few years back a game the mustangs had a chance to win but fell short BUT that is in the past  lets play for today  if you dont bring your A game there is no tomorrow.lastnight we saw a QB that ran with power and we that were there saw what happned the kid took some shots that rocked the place .everyone always talks about the mustangs (D) but lets stop and think about it this is NOT a mustang  team from the past thay have become a very well balance team the (O) is no slouch give them a inc thay will take it to the house this will be a game matching speed on speed  best of luck to both teams.come monday the coaching staff at wo-s will try there best to get there kids ready for the #1 3a team in the state
Skip, who said anything about playing dirty?  I agree with you on the WO-S vs. Gilmer matchup comparison to us playing Navasota.  I was telling someone that last night.  The Navasota QB and their offense reminds me of what we saw against Gilmer.  Thankfully, this year's WO-S defense is better equipped to challenge that.  I've seen a few predictions by posters saying Navasota will score 40+ points as if we're just like any other opponent.  We're just given the casual brush off by some of these fans.  We don't need any extra motivation for this game, but I'm glad some are willing to offer it.    8) Hurry up Friday!
 8.
Super game Stangs !!!!! We beat the Lepords and Zebra's tonight. Several really bad calls by the back judge and some flagrant calls missed by line judge.
Yeah...and don't forget...Lorena had ONE penalty for the entire game.  Have you ever seen a team play a penalty-free game, especially one that got whipped like that?  Absolutely incompetent officiating.
 9. Man, oh, man...good thing Nederland won this game, or this would turn into a 100-page thread.  Since you won, it'll probably only be...99. Lol!  Congrats, Bulldogs.  SETX is proud of your team.
 10.
Just because our offense hasn't scored 100 points a game doesn't mean they can't play. I've seen LM twice and our offense is more diverse and better than LM's. if LM offense put up 20 I look for us to do that and then some unless we build 20-0 or 21-0 lead in the 3rd then you will probably see the running game only again. It's not lack of ability, it's philosophy... It's smart football.
Right on!
 11. As good as WO-S plays on defense, no one realistically believes they will shut out Navasota.
 12. Wow...that kind of comment is not one you expect to hear from a high school coach.  College...yes, but not high school.  It sets a bad example for the kids.  Way to go, Nederland!
 13. Nice win by WO-S!  The defense was relentless in pounding Lorena and their QB.  Several bone crunching tackles by WO-S that were fun to watch.  The big hit by our #14 on the Lorena recevier was a LEGAL hit and should not have been penalized.  Did anyone else notice that Lorena was penalized only ONCE for the game?  And that was a flagrant personal foul when a Mustang scored a TD and a Lorena player tried to rip off his helmet?  It looked as if the ref didn't want to make the call until he got an ear full.  Lorena's OL was guilty of a lot of holding and pushing after the whistle, especially in the 4th quarter.  Not once was it called.  Terrible officiating crew tonight.  One penalty for the whole game?
 14.

Haha yall guys are funny Navasota 45 to Wo-s 14
Sounds about right.
Sour grapes.  ::)
 15.
Lets start now no point and waiting.
You mean...let's start now because YOU can't wait.  I can see it now.  Happens every year.  A playoff opponent of a team in setx pops up on this site before a big game, stirs the pot, and after the game is played (win or lose) he is gone.  You're the next wise guy to fill this role.  Mustang fans and others from setx are happy to oblige your request to talk about the game, but try to show a little respect so we can enjoy the chatter.
 16.
Just listened to the game. Mustangs roll in this one. I was on Twitter lastnight and I loved what I saw. Navasota players tweeting aboht the stangs. A mustang responded we dont care about Navasota they are playing LaMarque we are playing Lorena we'll cross that bridge when we get there
Good! That's exactly the way our players should be handling the chatter.  Coach T drills the "one team at a time" mindset into the team.  It's especially important this time of year.  Championship teams are built this way.  Let the Navasota guys get carried away with that.  Thanks for posting this.
 17.
Yes WOS had a huge talent advantage iver Whimberely that year. And Navasoto 's team this year doesn't have near the firepower that team had. Deon Bealsey at QB - University of Texas Starting cornerback, now in the cfl Earl Thomas at wideout and cornerback. University of Texas starting safety 1st round draft pick and pro bowler. Jacoby Franks at wideout Texas Tech starting wideout two years. Ladarious White at wideout UofH signee. That's just the superstar names from that team they had 7 other guys who were either sophomores or juniors on that team that play college ball. Navasota doesn't have one ki that can touch those 4 kids I named
Wimberley was better than WO-S...hands down.  Naming players who got college scholarships from WO-S doesn't change the fact.  Wimberley was equally as good of a running team as they were a passing team.  We decided to put more defensive emphasis on stopping their passing game, and in response they did the smart thing.  They used their offensive line and tailback to bulldoze us.  That was an impressive OL.  We could not stop them.  At least two of their O-lineman signed scholarships, one to UT.  The Giddings game in '06 was one we should have won.  It's one of those occassional moments where the better team lost.  Play selection had MUCH to do with losing that one.  In the Gilmer game, I thought that was the best game our former OC called in all of his time at WO-S.  Play selection included a time-consuming drive to start the game, and aggressive calls the rest of the way.  The strategy was right for that one.  We had two dropped TD passes, and one slightly overthrown one.  Three potential TDs.  We had zero room for error in order to win that one.  Gilmer was better than us.  I'm looking forward to a solid performance by our boys this Friday.  I know they're focussed.  Let's go beat the spots off those leopards.
 18.
If we get past Lorena (which is gonna be a great, tough game) and Navasota gets past LaMarque (sorry, I think LaMarque has something for them) Watched a little bit of video of Navasota and Coldspring looking at the Navasota Offense. You really can't accurately judge a team by a small patch of film but here is my impressions and someone can correct me if I am offbase. Quarterback is very good, very good arm and moves well in the pocket. Would remind you of Beasley with a better and more accurate arm, but more of a scrambler as he is looking to get the pass off. They seem to throw a lot of bubble screens and outs to draw defense in then go deep sidelines. Very good timing on the outs, you would almost have to play bump and run on them. Seems like their running game is an offshoot of their passing attack (much like ours during the Beasley years), didn't really see anything that stood out there. Did see a lot of missed tackles by Coldspring that game. Coldspring seemed like they got some pressure on the QB from the outside, I would love to have it up the middle and see how he does. For a team to beat them your A) gonna have to play cover 2 and put a lot of heat on the QB or B) you better have a very talented secondary and be able to put a lot of heat on the QB. I really would have to wonder how they would do on a muddy, extremely windy, or wet field. I think this would be one game I would want to play off of turf (that's not gonna happen). Yes, their offense can be disrupted if your good enough to do certain things. IMO they would get some points on WOS but not like they are used to. IT would come down to whether or not the Mustang Offense can put points up (I think they can). It would be a great game for sure.
Good points.  IF...IF...IF we beat Lorena, it will be quite a treat to play either LaMarque or Navasota.  I wish I could be at both games this Friday.  One game at a time, Mustangs.  All the focus is on Lorena.
 19.
going into the game with the texans we were a 20 point fav    wow that was a long drive home thay out smarted us just ask dan hooks are cornell thompson
I remember differently, Skip.  The Texas sportscasters I listened to said Wimberley was the favorite going into that game.  Many of us thought, "What? Why?"  We learned after the game why they were favored.  They were flat out just better than us.  No Mustang team has ever before or since been steamrolled like that one was.  It's still the only game in school history where WO-S gave up more than 50 points.  As for the '05 team in comparison to this year's Navasota team...no one can reasonably say the WO-S squad was head and shoulders above the Rattlers of this season.  Two reasons why...1) the season isn't over yet, so Navasota can still show more of how good they are and 2) our play selection was made by a former OC that is now head coach at another school.  Yeah...remember all the underachieving by the offense during those years?  I would give this year's Rattlers offense the edge over the '05 Mustang offense.
 20. To judge what WO-S has based on the West Columbia game is a mistake. But, if any possible future opponents want to cling to that game as a measuring stick, go right ahead.  ;D
 21.
I saw the highlights from the WC game. Wo-s couldn't stop the pass against a team that runs. If y'all meet La Marque or Navasota it's going to be ugly.
You just can't shut up about WO-S, can you?  'Still no guarantees that Navasota and WO-S even will play each other, but you just can't resist bringing it up.  This has been going on for at least two weeks.  Our team and coaches are thinking about nothing but Lorena.  For your team's sake, I hope Navasota is not looking past LaMarque as you are.
 22. WO-S is the home team, Lorena is the visitor.
 23.
why waller texas cant thay find someplace else to play
Because it a fair neutral site between Lorena and Orange and because they have a nice stadium with a turf field.  Check out the photos: [Hidden Content]
 24. Your work Friday nights is very much appreciated, TB!
 25.
Wo-s is in trouble come the 4th round if they make it.
Before a 4th round game can be played, there must be a 3rd round win.  WO-S will concentrate on the Lorena/Fairfield winner and you need to earn a win next week against your opponent.
