Tigers take it 94-39. One thing I hope that can continue into the season is 11 3s made in this game for the Tigers.

Silsbee 1 is the 8 returning varsity players that are here missing Luke plus Adonis, Devon and Jordyn.  Silsbee 2 is Jv and below.

If. And that's a big if,  that one comes to Silsbee and everyone else stays it would be real scary for our opponents.  Grayland would be a starter anywhere in the area.   It would probably even be bigger for Tiger football.

I have no problem with Barnes starting,  I thought he was quite capable of starting last year.   The only problem at all. Is just figuring out who those starters will be with so many capable.  We have Michael McCain, Tre Grubbs and Dontre Thomas all but guaranteed starting spots. Then you have Kolton Mackey, Bruce Newton, Trejan Harris that were the three that filled those other two spots most of the time.  Then you had Ricky Maze, Kaylon Barnes and Luke Tanton who all played key minutes last year.  All of these return. I think for the regular season we only had 11 players, graduated 1 and 1 transferred.  If I have forgotten anyone please remind me.  If you add both the expected freshman to the varsity Devon McCain and Jordyn Adams(hope that's the right first name),  we have 11 players plus you have 3 that came up for the playoffs in Bass, Adonis and Tre Lowe.  That would give 14 without the possible rumored move in. I think most of the time with even 15 players Coach Sigler would get them pretty good playing time with possibly 3 solid groups just because of the way he has rotated in groups of 5 in the past.  He could go 3 minutes first team, 3 minutes second team and 2 minutes third team each quarter unless the game dictated otherwise. Good problem to have in some ways.  It's up to the players to look towards the team instead of themselves.   That was a strong point last  year, let's hope it is this year.   As far as those other two starting spots,  if that one rumored transfer was to happen it would be down to one open spot and filling it would be a tough decision.  One I am sure the coaches would love to have to make.

I don't know that they should have called a TO, they had a good break with Harden having the ball. I though he should have kept going to the basket instead of the pass. He did have 2 defenders going with him but go to the basket and dish off for an open shot not pass to the closest to you. Either way you have to at least get a shot off, drive and dish or shoot and hope for a foul if you don't score.

I think it is only against il rules if you coach your own players, as far as Brady coaching his players the school isn't uil. I know a few years back according to posts Yates coach Wise was also an AAU coach.

Brady you have great points. AAU coaches like yourselves are great for these kids. Devoting your time and money and pushing these kids to be the best they can be is great. But, and you will have to answer this, how many of these summer coaches are like yourself and how many are there to maybe Coach their kids or other kids or even try to get a moment in the sun themselves by having success. I realize some of these high school coaches may be merely there for the job as well but many have just as much care for the kids as well.

As far as the remarks about average AAU or High School Coaches, my interpretation would be that based on pure coaching ability. I am not a good evaluator of that but I know from seeing comments that there are some AAU coaches that have had very successful careers so I would put them on the top level just like Coaches like Sutherland locally or Boutte and so on. Those coaches at the top levels may be pretty even. When you get to the lnext level where coaches haven't really had success at the top and maybe don't have the coaching skills of these the above category, I would say may be the average coaches. For the most part I would think from that level the high school coaches would have the edge there based on their education and maybe experience. my opinions there are not a criticism of you or any other coach in particular just an overall observation. I could be wrong because I have very limited AAU experiences.

With that said my hats off to the Coaches such as yourself that go the extra mile and devote large portions of your life helping these kids. I think that is one of the best things a person can do, help our youth to better themselves, keep them off the streets and give them goals to reach for.

Not enough team has been caught twice. Brady caught cheating in the playoffs. I may be extreme but it should cost him the season. Make others think before doing it.

AggiesAreWe, good job on the numbers, I do think Silsbee hit 4 batters. They hit our #12 three times and in the last game hit #2 once.

I do want to say it was a good series and Silsbee will be a very good team for years to come. Those boys are very good to be Fresh and Soph. They played their butts off. It was also good to play a team that has good fans. Silsbee's fans are a class act.

Silsbee and Shepherd both played underclassmen and they all played big time. So congrats to Silsbee on the year they had and hope Shepherd can keep going.

Need to man up and pull out back to back wins.

No excuses, no errors just baseball.

Need to make a statement to prove that you belong and to kill all the extra curricular going on afterwards.

    Handle up and represent Tigers.

I have to say I am definitely not an AAU expert by any means having only seen a few tourneys this year. But from what I have seen, I wouldn't think the average aau coach is on the same level as the averag high school coach. Now the top level coaches I don't know. But as far as average I just don't think they would have the same education or experience that a high school coach has. Like was said they don't necessarily have to be as good to benefit the players in big ways. The players get exposure and the benefit of playing time and seeing other competition, those pay off.

I really can't say the AAU coach is better because the Summer Coach gets to choose his players. Some get the best talent from the area/state. Shouldn't be hard to Coach a ton of talent with no school board telling you who to play, not to mention you can dangle the carrot of College exposure. No hard to get kids motivated to play.
Your top AAU Coaches are paid, that's their Job to win, they are given top talent, top assistants, trainers & a good budget & sponsorship. Give this support to your average HS Coach, we may be able to end this discussion

I don't think anyone said its different now, maybe they were expecting Pac to force it into being different but it didn't happen. Maybe he would have had a chance to make it different if his shoulder wasn't hurt, if that is true. Fact is just like I have alluded to Mayweather used the exact style I would use if I was him. Like he said this is boxing not fighting, slugging etc. look at football or basketball years ago, slower more deliberate, today's games are more fun to watch but those styles can still be effective. Just like pure boxing can be nod Floyd is definitely the best boxer.

Why? Several reasons hype, people either love or hate him, wanting to see him get beat, and simply wanting to see one of the best ever. It's boring just like a 1-0 baseball game where there are only a couple base runners by each side. Boring to many but loved by pitchers and their fans.

I agree, pretty boring but definitely effective. He does bring a little similarity to Leonard in his showmanship and movement. This was really my first of his fights to watch and that's who came to mind fairly quickly. His style is probably the smartest and most effective way to go about it.

Definitely what I meant was I don't want to count them when I say I haven't like the at bats I have seen. Sure missed attempts can be considered a poor at bat but what I am talking about are at bats where that isn't part of it. A sacrifice is a very big part of baseball and many games are won or lost by them.
