I've watched a little bit of Palestine, and Huffman definitely has more than a Chance.   But this will be the test to see if they are deserving of all the praise for being undefeated.

If they get beat, they are still deserving of the praise for a good season. SMH This game does not dictate a good season or not. Huffman defends the Wing T/Slot T as good as anybody. I see Huffman winning this game big!

  2. I  know Huffman competition not the same - whatever. Some notes about the upcoming game

Palestine giving up 299 points this season to Huffman's 143

    Palestine scoring 337 points to Huffman's 470.

I haven't seen Palestine play a down ever so not even sure what to expect here. Looks like both teams had a cake walk in the first playoff game.

Congrats to all teams making it to the second round! Lesgo!

It’s no disrespect to Huffman. Carthage HC Surratt  Is the best in the business the last time LCM went 10-0 he was coaching at LCM. It’s crazy we let him slip away. Good luck to y’all. I truly don’t know what type ofBears show up Friday night.

A round at a time man! Wish the best of luck to everyone in our district! Good luck from Huffman!

I love the enthusiasm you possess for your hometown team. I really do. But you have to be careful to temper enthusiasm with reality.

    1. “No weakness anywhere on this team.” You will be exposed when you play better teams not in your district. For a small fee, I will give you an in depth analysis of Huffman’s weaknesses (more than 2 of them).
    2. “Can they compete with Carthage, i believe will be in the 3rd round?” Simple answer: No - refer to all comments above to the same question.
    3. Defensively they are stout! Huffman gave up a total of 39 points to Bridge City and Lumberton combined. That is not stout. HH strength is scoring, not defending in my opinion.

Hoping for the best representation of our district by all 4 playoff teams. Can’t wait to see how it all plays out tonight!

Thank you for your response and your opinions. Do i personally think they cant be Carthage, Probably not. But getting to that third round and given the opportunity sure beats the heck out of watching basketball already! Huffman is excited about their boys. Not many teams can say they went 10--0. I dont care if its a PISPPOOR district or not. Good luck to all teams!

  5. Huffman has an opportunity to run the table Friday night. This is one of the best teams to come through Huffman in years. Last time they went undefeated was like 1984. No weakness anywhere on this team. Can Huffman make a deep run into the playoffs? Can they compete with Carthage, i believe will be in the 3rd round? Huge athletic O line that love to pound a run game, which has become the strength of a spread type offense. They can spread you out and chunk the pill. Defensively they are stout! Every single win this season has been by double digits! Is this the year for Huffman?

Splendora seemed like they could have competed.

A bad turnover and a demoralizing tipped option pitch that resulted in a defensive TD for Huffman just knocked the fire out of them.  Once they got behind, they started throwing the ball and making some mistakes.  Snowball effect.

Not to overlook the Huffman defense though.  They play tough and there wasn't many explosive plays from Splendora.  Splendora had quite a few 3rd downs and they converted a lot.  But they weren't going to keep up with a shootout.

Huffman man handled them from snap 1. Splendora is a descent football team and Huffman handled business liked they should have. Huffman handles LCM in the same manner as they have the entire season! Huffman 35 - LCM 14

BH South 8A doing good as well,  7-0 in district so far going into last game next week vs BH North 8A.
36-0 vs Crosby, 28-0 vs Dayton... good group.  I’m not sure how the BH 7th grade teams are doing, but I hear Dayton’s 7A team is top dawg in the district. I heard they are real nice,   they are wining all their games pretty decisively.

Dayton's 7th grade team is legit! I think they play Crosby 7th grade next week and that would be a good one. That Dayton team is disciplined, tackles well, and are just something special. Yes I know 7th grade and things change but good lord they are tough!

    Huffman has good coaching????

well, that’s questionable. Huffman is Lead by a senior group of kids that have had their let downs. If we get through this Friday, the LiCeM game will determine the DC.

i think my Falcons will drop one. I just hope it’s the right one. As of today, we could still finish 3rd

Huffman could have issues if they decide to keep in the air. Weather may keep Huffman on the ground which I am good with.. Let that big senior led O line have a field day.  Who the heck are you thinking may knock Huffman off Splendora or LCM?

Huffman looks great at 5-0, but for their 5 wins the opponents total record is 6-23.   Three of the teams are 0-fers (0-6, 0-5, 0-6).  So how good are the Falcons?  We’ll see tomorrow night.  IMO, Lumberton has a real chance.  This may be one of the better games Friday night.

AGREED! Should be the strongest test of the season for both teams! GR8 football weather too!
