  1. And we haven't had that type of hitter or intimadator since then. Gohlke was a beast. He could lay a lick!
  2. I cant remember the kids firs name. I think it was Chris Pelitere. Anyway, he played for Nederland as a free safety. One night we were playing Dayton in Dayton and the kid put 2 wide receivers out of the game in the second quarter. When I say he put em out. The game was stopped on both hits and they were both carted to the ambulance and hauled off. That kid could hit and he had speed to burn.
  3. Those poles were taken down, then re-set. They're the same poles from 1979. I woulda painted them when they were down. Nah, we like rust. While the poles were down, they DID measure them though. They already knew how tall they are, but they needed to know how LLLOOONNNNNGGGG they were. I hope the new lights dont Creduer out.
  4. I agree, not only some great talent. (speed, strength, size) but I see alto of toughness coming down the pipe. We also have some kids who are used to winning and expect to win. These kids (8th, 9th, 10th graders) have not only won in junior high but they have smacked the competition around. Especially the CO Wilson teams. I am looking forward to the near future in Nederland.

  6. Matt I know you would like more but I hear you just give more.
  7. Waaa Waaaa Waaa....Dont taunt us....We are the mighty Dayton Broncos who were supposed to beat Livingston by 50! Waa Waaa Waaa... I really hope Dayton gets another thumpin soon like Friendswood gave to them! :'( :'( :'(
  8. Whats the deal with the brand new light poles that are already rusted. ???
  9. Good post Coog. The L have the winning part down. Now they need to learn to loose with a little dignity. I wasnt there, I was at the Nederland/CE King game where we lost three starters (QB, RB, WR) and had underclassman step up and help win that game. I am very dissapointed in some of these LUM. quotes about winning if Beard was there. Good teams find a way to win when it counts.
  10. Hard to judge by that score. That was their first game of the year. Remember the Dogs first game of the year. We have come a long ways since the WOS game. I still think Nederland wins this week. Its gonna be a good one.
  11. 5 INTs lead Magnolia past Hays By Tyler Mayforth Updated: 11.15.08 BUDA — Usually it’s the wishbone attack that defines Magnolia High. Against Hays in the first round of the Class 4A District I playoffs, the Bulldogs unveiled a new trick – their defense. Magnolia picked the Rebels’ quarterbacks five times, including three by Dai’Jon Chaney and tormented the home team. The Bulldogs bullied Hays on their way to a 26-14 win at Bob Shelton Stadium. Magnolia will take on Nederland next Saturday at 1 p.m. at Buddy Moorhead Memorial Stadium in Conroe in an area playoff game. Coming into the game, Magnolia knew it could run the ball on the Rebels. The Bulldogs had success all season with the run and in seeing tape, found how they could exploit Hays. “I had no doubts that we could run the ball against them,†Magnolia head coach Andy Sexton said. “I knew if we made our blocks and made our reads, we’d be fine.†The Bulldogs tallied three touchdowns on the ground, including two by Sean McKeown. The senior fullback tied the game in the second quarter on his 2-yard run and then broke it open with a 36-yard jaunt in the fourth quarter. Magnolia only got stronger as the game wore on against the Rebels. As the wind began to blow harder, and as Hays dropped further behind, the home team became restless. Rebel quarterback Sam Breyfogle completed his first three passes for a total of 95 yards, but it was with the wind. Once Hays got turned around, the ball was knocked down, right into the awaiting arms of Chaney. The senior defensive back picked off three passes, including a 70-yard return for a touchdown at the end of the first half. Chaney never was touched on his way to the end zone, giving the Bulldogs a 20-14 advantage. “Just run,†Chaney said when asked about what he thought during the return. “Just get to the end zone. I knew I was gone.†Magnolia rushed for 318 yards against the Rebels, 169 of which came in the first half. Arnold Nevarez accounted for 118 of those yards. The Bulldogs also forced six turnovers.
  12. Wow. I gotta see this kid. That is some big shoes to feel. HUGE! Gotta go with Grogan. He ran all over CE King with leg cramps. This kid is a beast.
  13. Big win for the Dogs. Very exiting game. I credit the Defense for coming up with some big plays. I know I have been critical of them on this message board but they played much better tonight. Great job by the Soph's for stepping up. Tyler Smith looked real good. Good luck next week.
  14. I am all for antler restrictions. I hunt in Tyler County and I see way to many young bucks taken. Nice game cam pic TVC184. Thats about when I get all my good pictures too..... At Night.
  15. Sounds like a crock. This kid is good. He will probably play every down.
  16. What a woman!!!!!!! ;D Hey Cowgirl, you should try Grizzly snuff. It taste like COPE but a third of the price.
  17. I would vote for THAT bond issue! You better vote to give the man a raise or he is going to take the six figures PNG will offer him. Just sit back and watch. NO WAY! the man has started something here that no one ever has, do you honestly think Lumberton is going to let him go? coach C isn't going anywhere . it's pretty obvious that you don't understand who he or what he is about! for those who know him, including myself, know that he is more than a dollar sign.besides lumberton gave him the AD title before he even went to the playoffs, and now that he has done that 2 years in a row...his home is here. I do see it as a compliment that png would consider him, with their winning tradition. who wouldn't want him? Alvin Credeur was in the Lumberton High School graduating class of 1981. (Yes, that's mine too.) He sat next to me in Algebra I. (I should have cheated off him!). He isn't going anywhere ... he's come home. Larry Neumann did not graduate from Nederland. Last summer he put in his resume for the La Marque job. He is from the Pasadena area and stated he would like to live back in that area again. The school board stepped up to the plate and "showed him the money". Dont be so sure that any coach wouldnt leave for the right price. What would you do? :-\
  18. Give him a raise and maybe next year yall will make the playoffs.
