He was probably one of the best OC in the area. Grant it DL was a heck of a QB but Coach Long had just as much to do with the sucess of that offfense than anyone else. Answer me this. Why would you hire a head coach who had a worse record than the guy you are getting rid of? Kelly Bulldogs went 2-6 this year. PNG went 3-6

Smitty, the facts are that even though they were the fourth place team, they still went to the second round and should have been in the third round which is more than you can say for for the district co-champs. (Lum). The facts are that there is not a DC in the state that could have made a deeper run with this years team. They just didnt have a deep pool of talent. With that being said, I do wish we would blitz the linebackers more often.

Just heard from a reliable source that Burnett will be reassigned. This source is usually right on the money. I have said it before and I will say it again. I would not take a reassignment If I was him. But..... I am not him. So it doesn't really matter what I think. I think the real question here is who will PNG hire as the next Big Cheese. Gonna get some good bites on this job offer. I would go after Alvarez (Kirbyville). He is about to get a deliver a state championship to a little town south of Jasper. The guy knows how to score and he knows how to win. ;D

I helped build the Nederland Youth Football Association as a board member and coach when Nederland first entered into the league. By the way, I ended my coaching career winning a Super Bowl against West Orange Stark in 2006. I have also managed and help form the Texas Roughriders who have played major division select baseball and have traveled all over the United States doing so. I have ran across a lot of irate coaches and have been very irate and insulted as well. But I always had sense enough to remember where I was, whom I was coaching, and why I was there. When you cross the line that both sets of coaches did, you do not deserve the privilege to coach these kids. You are dang right I am not glad I am not from either town because what happened what a flat out embarrassment. Good thing I am not the President of the STJFL, I would kick both towns out of the League! Well, There ya go. That's some great thinkin roughrider! Lets ban the ENTIRE city.......really? That's also probably why you are not President of the STJFL! Just so you know, in 2006 with a population of 16,751, nederland had 66 violent crimes while Lumberton with a population of 9,637 had 19. As you can see even with percentages, Nederland has a higher violent crime percent than Lumberton. So before you start putting down other towns, you may want to look in your own backyard! I used to live in Nederland and its a great community. Your logic makes little sense. Its 2 coaches, not 2 towns! Its people like you that makes things worse! 66 violent crimes and not one of them at a youth sporting event. My point is that the STJFL needs to have a zero tolerance on garbage like that. Nedrland is not better than BC or Lum but dont take up for the idiots.

Bru--- I got to agree with you on the offense. I just have a hard time dealing with this D. I am not blaming coaches, I am not blaming the kids, they played their A#$ off. I just know what it takes to advance and I dint think the Dogs had the right mixture on D. this year. Nevertheless, I think they had a heck of a year and I think this program has the right mixture to go the distance. It takes a special team to do that. Like I said, huge fan and I support the heck out of these boys.

I just watched the video and all I saw was idiots walking around with their chest bowed out like they were gonna beat somebody up. These idiots couldn't fight their way out of a wet paper bag. I hope they are proud of themselves. Personally, I am embarrassed for the two cities. Thank GOD I dint live in either town.

I got a question and this is not for or against Burnett or Long. What did PNG do in the years inbetween Dustin Long leaving and Mike Long leaving. I remember a couple of playoff teams but no powerhouse. And I dont want to hear any crap about not knowing PNG football if I am not a PNG fan. It is just my opinion that if MB did leave, then I would take a look at whats out there before I jumped all over M. Long. There are some good coaches that would jump all over that job.

Not even a question, I thought Tyler did an outstanding job but Bellows is the starter. Unless Bellows is hobbling around lame, He is the starter. Not even a question. COME ON!
