  1. Up-to-date FACILITIES!  That's all I'm talking about.  Silsbee is nice and I give them credit for being first, but what have they done to upgrade?  They are about to get bypassed by the districts that are upgrading to "real" stadium facilities.

i think Stallworth is adding an elevator too...for some reason that just popped into my head, dunno for sure...but if true they will have field turf, jumbotron, newly renovated pressbox, and elevator next year...pretty goodfor highschooland the thing seats 16,500...

  2. Does field turf make a stadium a real stadium? If so Baytown's Stallworth (which is old but still good because of renovations) has field turf now, i think they have had it for a little over a year or right at it....Also Stallworth has a new video board and they are enlarging the press boxes to be double decker....Galena Park's stadium is really really nice as well complete with a video board and all...If you want to see a high school stadium that is ridiculous then go see Cypress ISD's new stadium, went there for the Dayton playoff game against Waller, that place is ridiculous for a high school field, its so ridiculous i wouldnt call it a REAL stadium but an UNREAL stadium....

  3. on the astros forum it says people got rejection letters if they didnt get picked...so i guess their website screwed up when i registered, figures...probably the stubhub and other ticket brocker bots were too busy making up fake names and address at the time and had overloaded the ticketmaster's poor excuse for a system...if you want to go and didnt get picked expect to pay 3 or 4 times face value...i'll watch it on tv

  4. Baylor picked up a huge win in lubbock last night to move to 5-2 in the big 12, and 17-4 overall.  this is one of those wins that is crucial for getting into the big dance.  TT is a pretty good team, and these are the types of wins that Baylor really needs.  there's a ton of talent at the top of the Big 12 this year, and baylor won't find many more wins there.  If they can keep beating the middle of the pack and the bottom feeders, they should end the season with enough wins, and enough wins against decent opponents, to make it to march madness.

game was in waco not lubbock...but it was a win we had to have esp. w/ the 2 game slide...anyway it wil be essential for Baylor to protect its home court and beat the lower tier teams on the road, if they do that then they will be dancing w/ around 10 or 11 wins in conference...

yeah, i dunno what all we are considering "Southeast Texas" on this site but the ones bold are either in Southeast Texas or close to it...

  6. hey, we won! good lord Lee is horrible, i guess they dont know how to play anything other than football on that side of town...

What kind of post was that??? :-\

since district started my Rangers have been getting beat regularly, just happy to see they won against a good team...i hadn't seen the standings and Lee had only won 2 games which was shocking to me considering the talent they normally have in football...

  7. we can figure Liberty's schedule out by using all the other teams schedule, it appears to be as following:

    Week 0: vs. Bridge City

    Week 1: at Hamshire-Fannett

    Week 2: Orangefield (dunno where)

    Week 3: at Kirbyville

Week 4: Open, I think since they have 6 District games....

I got the locations by assuming each series was a home and home and we are playing at the opposite location that we played at last year...

  8. My preseason pick for the 2008 playoffs would be North Shore, West Brook, PA Memorial, and Baytown Lee. If that were the case, NS and West Brook would be the Div. I reps, and PAM and Lee would represent Div II. However, if Sterling were to sneak in there, then WB would go Div II and Sterling would go Div I because of the larger enrollment numbers. Just something to ponder. ;D

haha seriously? Sterling sneak in there?? I wish, but we havent been to the playoffs since 1985, dont see that changing this year....

  9. another choke job by my Bears against the Horns....

Baylor is still young and havent learned how to put a team away when they are up...we actually play a lot better when we are down in the 2nd half, if we have the lead we seem lose (3 of our 4 losses)...OU we were down big in the 2nd half, came back and took the lead late but couldnt pull it out..if we could learn toput teams away when up big we would only have 1 loss on the year...

  10. probably a lot of 21-5a teams will be playing teams in that katy district seeing that they both need 5 nondistrict games and teh rest of the surrounding area only needs 4 or less.....

when i was a freshman in highschool (1999) Baytown Sterling went to Katy and played them...in the most improbable game I have ever witness and probably ever will witness the Rangers beat Tigers 28-25 to end some ridiculous 35 game regular season winning streak...only other game Katy lost that year was the state championship game, Sterling which for once had a decent team still managed to go 6-4, beat the state runner up, and stay home come playoff time...weird year, but that game was unbelievable...

  11. Pretty much NS and the 5 dwarfs.  The haven't lost a district game going on 8 years......

They are gonna lose one this year ;)    i think they lost their QB, who was very good.  I believe they had underclassmen at running back.   I think WB will hold their own this coming year.

if they havent lost a district game in 8 years then they know a little something about losing talent and replacing it....also, if they havent lost a district game in 8 years then that means the last time they lost one was the last time they were in 21-5a, cause i know they lost to Baytown Lee one year when Lee blocked their winning field goal attempt in the final seconds....the next year North Shore ran the table and won district and the year after they got moved back out....

  12. wow guys, im sry i was watching the game (baylor alum)...next time i'll post stuff like this over here i didn't realize yall would be interested...but the game was free to watch online...it rivaled that game UT/OSU played last year that went 3 overtimes, maybe better...i dunno i could be a bit biased, crazy game, glad the bears got the win...

  13. the Liberty job is definitely open (I live here) Stewart resigned, and if he didnt he wont have his contract renewed....

I hadn't heard about Donald Douglass coming back, he was a former Liberty QB/UofH wideout/NFL journeyman/other proleagues.... that would be interesting, esp. if he could keep Anthony Chambers on staff former Liberty QB/Purdue Wideout/punt returner....Donald and Anthony played here when I was young, and obviously by their sucess at the next level they were very, very good... Maybe they could get former runningback Reggie White to come back as well (dont know what he is doing now, he played college ball as well, at a smaller school and a year at Okie State), bring back some of the better days in the 90s of Liberty football....

I dont really understand why the support is coming into question in Liberty, for almost every home game that stadium is full in Liberty, they just don't travel when the team sucks (as it did this year), thats the same with most schools....Liberty doesnt have the great tradition of some of these other southeast Texas teams to draw on, they normally have been in a weaker district and though they make the playoffs most years they very rarely get out of the first round...As far as financial support, Liberty's stadium is old but its a good stadium and large enough for 3a, however I do not know about how much they pay the coaches, probably it is low but Liberty has a lot of low income families and no teachers make a lot of money here, makes sense the coaches are lower normally as well, that really isnt something Liberty can fix though...they only get a certain amount of money so they can only pay what they have....
