Tournaments usually have a 15 after 3 rule for times sake.

So the mock alignment on the uil website is trash? It looks like to me that they want to keep it at 32 districts in each classification. If that is the case, then the number of teams in the districts will be like they are now.

I think the "spring" may be referring to getting them out of jail.

Travel!! If you look at the mock proposal, you will have a total of 3, 4 team districts in 3a and 3 in 1a. 5a and 4a will be a range from 6 team districts to 10 team districts. 2a - 5 -8, 3a 4 - 6, 1a 4-7. Remember with the proposal as it passed for 1a, only 2 teams from each district make the playoffs. How is this proposal more equitable than current policy? The 3rd place team in a 10 team district is possibly better than the second place team in a 6 team district.

The nfhs rule book states that a forfeit be recorded as 7 - 0, or one run for every inning you play by state adoption. If a state association plays 9 inning games the forfeit would be 9 - 0.

"A school which does not participate in baseball after registering may be suspended in this activity for a period of one year, unless sufficient justification is shown for not entering a team. " This is straight out of the uil baseball manual. Not having enough players should keep them from any penalties. This should be justification enough.

Talk about a classless move!!! How about griping about a coaching strategy when you have so many that berate the umpires. Maybe the move was the wrong one. Was the other team still stealing? (It makes a huge diff. imo) Didn't they execute a squeeze play in the playoffs to tie or win a game? Maybe it was practice. Maybe the kid that squeezed was 4-4 in the game and he bunted him so they could get an out. I don't know the circumstances but ya'll are bashing a coach who lead his team to the state tournament!!! Last I checked only 4 of over 200 1A teams made it.

Great article. Congrats to the Sharks on a great season. This works out great for some because the Nederland gym is actually a shorter trip from their house than going out to Sabine Pass.

Pull the kids off the court!! Miss free throws on purpose!! Should Harvick give back his trophy for winning Daytona due to a rain out?? Should the golfer pay back his winnings at peeble beach because they only played three rounds?? NO! All of these situations were not the winners faults. They had no control over the weather or the other team being so undisciplined that they left the bench.

Maybe the other coach should teach his team not to leave the bench. I am just going by what is stated because I am blocked by my provider from youtube. RESPONSIBILITY FOR ONE'S ACTIONS!!! This is missing in our society and sports.

This WAS a playoff game! YES prep was the first round opponent. Another fine example of the uil messing up! They should have never let charter schools in!

The next level would have to be a STATE CHAMPIONSHIP since the previous coach won or tied for the district crown for 5 consecutive years, had 2 state tournament appearances, lost in regional finals to eventual state champs once, and averaged 30 wins a year. Continuing a strong baseball tradition would be a better statement than putting STATE CHAMPIONSHIP or failure tag on the new coach.
