Marco wasn’t banking on this I bet. Word gets out it may be hard to get good recruits for next year. I thought Tic did a good job this this year. 

I first met Stan when Clay was at Jasper. Jasper had just came down to 3A and entered Huntington’ district. It became a quick rivalry with within the first two years as the four games produced eleven overtime’s. Stan always jokingly referred to the Huntington police as the gestapo. Lol.   He  would often text laughable things to my phone.
We will miss him. The board won’t be the same.  Thoughts and prayers to his family.

BTW, an interesting bit about steve - When he first moved down here, his first job was at Wickersham Ford in Orange.  if you’re older, you probably remember the ad line “ If anybody can, Wickersham can”.   steve is the one that came up with that.

Yet the only two teams in 4A still playing.   Must have done something right.   😜

That whole trip had a strange overhang on it. You could feel it in the air. What few games we observed I was checking updates on my phone more than watching the games. Hoping for normalcy to return. 

I see where the Nazareth girls are back at state. 30 appearances, 25 titles and 5 straight... and the boys have lots of championships to add. If you could bottle that it would be a best seller.

Always makes me happy anytime i see a small country school beat a "small school" from a big city with a huge player pool.

Very diplomatic no-look.  We need to be kind to Hagar as he is approaching “super senior” status.  

Hagar, actually you were just testing them to see if they were paying attention. Right? 

They epitomized the word team.   Hated to see them beat my g’sons team, but they were a joy to watch.  Then, they didn’t have height, or a star, just 5 average guys, but it appeared that all of them knew where the other four where at all times.  More like a choreographed performance than normal basketball.

Was a great game too.  One of the better ones I’ve been to.  Other than some pretty poor officiating (it was bad for both teams and I’m usually pleased with Southland officiating - this game drew 2 of the worst ones in the conference), I thought the game was really well played.  Both teams played a very clean, high level game.  

Wow! Another great win for HD!  That’s two massive upsets in a row!
