  1. Please, the over-confidence of the fans has nothing to do with the players. Seems like Lumberton had a lot of problems tonight, from what LR1969 has been posting. That's the way it goes. We're still pleased and happy with our boys. Nederland, great job. We're pulling for you in the next round!
  2. I can't go tonight But best of luck, Raiders!!! We'll be rootin' for you from home. In fact, we've even had a little horn blowin around here already.
  3. I hardly think Credeur is scraping to get by.
  4. Lumberton does in fact, have the lowest paid teachers in the area. However, I don't think that's enough information for any of us to speculate on how much Credeur is paid. There's a lot more to job satisfaction than money, but I guess some people haven't figured that out. Lumberton may have the lowest paid teachers in their district but not in this area..Buna, Kirbyville, Warren, ect., have way lower district pay scales. As for job satisfaction over money, money usually wins. Why does Lumberton have such a high turnover in teachers???? Money!!!! And yet ... there are many who have been here for years and years and wouldn't be anywhere else.

  6. I would vote for THAT bond issue! You better vote to give the man a raise or he is going to take the six figures PNG will offer him. Just sit back and watch. NO WAY! the man has started something here that no one ever has, do you honestly think Lumberton is going to let him go? coach C isn't going anywhere . it's pretty obvious that you don't understand who he or what he is about! for those who know him, including myself, know that he is more than a dollar sign.besides lumberton gave him the AD title before he even went to the playoffs, and now that he has done that 2 years in a row...his home is here. I do see it as a compliment that png would consider him, with their winning tradition. who wouldn't want him? Alvin Credeur was in the Lumberton High School graduating class of 1981. (Yes, that's mine too.) He sat next to me in Algebra I. (I should have cheated off him!). He isn't going anywhere ... he's come home.
  7. See, herein lies the problem. Those that don't follow the program don't really know what his overall record is. They just assume that it is great since it's PNG and they hear about them each season, but take a look at teh real numbers. Overall 94-65 (0.591) with 6 playoff appearences. Not bad, not great either. The 0.591 winning percentage ranks him 11th on the all time PNG list for coaches. Theres been 18 HC's at PNG. But what has happened lately. Without the D. Long three years the record is: 64-58 (0.525) In the past 9 years since the state title game run: 52-40 (0.565) But that includes just three (3) winning seasons and three (3) playoff appearences (1 in the last four years). The numbers speak for themselves. Not as GREAT as everyone thinks are they! To put that into perspective, Neuman over that same period is: 119-52 (0.696) with 12 playoff appearences. Matt is a great person and good coach, but if he can't see that he needs help on the offensive side of the ball then maybe he should be replaced. I would love to see him stay and focus on defense and hire an established, imaginative OC. Just don't have any reason to believe it will happen. seems the numbers are different ??? Last ten years 1998 9-2 Bi-District 1999 14-2 State Finals 2000 5-5 2001 3-6 2002 5-5 2003 10-2 Area 2004 8-4 Area 2005 5-3 2006 5-5 2007 8-4 Regional 2008 3-6 Total 75-44 I was a little off on the losses, but is still a decent record for the past 10 years, not great, but decent. Notice how the years are bunched up for playoffs. Do you think that it might be the rotation of a mixture of players coming through and then a not so good crop of players. Just my honest opinion based on keeping up with HS football across the state for a long time. So ... what I'm hearing is that PNG isn't beating Ned as often as they think they should, so they need to get rid of a coach that's been there umpteen years. Do you all truly believe that playoffs should be in your year every year? Do you truly feel that you simply can't get through life without a completely dominant team? I think your coach and your kids work hard every year. I think your turn will come again. All this whining about PNG in years past and it's not that way now ... that's the past...and it may well be that way again, but this sense of entitlement has gotta go.
  8. I agree, actually. I don't think PNG has anything to b!tch about with Burnett.
  9. it's those lavendar glasses the dayton folks wear ... makes everything a sickly blue
  10. While you're at it, call the spelling police and the color police. Our colors are Columbian Blue, Red and Silver, not Loogie (not lugey, sheesh) Blue and Faded (have you not seen the shiny, bright red uniforms?) Red.
  11. I tell you what ... Lumberton has every reason to extremely proud of the team and the program that has been put together. For years and years, we've watched a lot of you enjoy success, while we have mostly enjoyed ridicule at your hands. Everybody wanted Lumberton for their Homecoming game, so they would be assured of a win. Years and years of that make a community wildly excited when the team evolves into one the is competitive. We are EXCITED, 42 years of excitement have been unleashed, and some people, not being as ... couth ... as others, get stupid with it. So, what's your excuse for being obnoxious? Just because another team other than the Broncos get some attention? It's not like it is undeserved. We haven't built a football dynasty yet, but we're working on it. Just cause you think you're going to get into the team's heads and maybe screw up the Nederland game? Wouldn't surprise me if Credeur has told them they can't be on this site. He probably isn't on it himself. Your team may well be better, but this kind of garbage tarnishes what they are. Therefore, you ... take away from what they are. Personally. Just because others are obnoxious, does it mean you're going to jump in the lake too? Are you a sheeple?
  12. What are you, 12 years old? Has anyone ever said that Dayton doesn't have a great team? Nope, they haven't. Did Dayton lose to Lumberton? Yup, they did. So what, you-know-what happens. Lumberton lost to Vidor this year. Big whoop. And people think Lumberton's fans have cornered the market on the obnoxious.
  13. I actually was kidding... just stirring the pot a little. BTW... here's that set of rules(suggested rules I suppose) you were looking for: [Hidden Content] My apologies, I had no idea that there were even rules and that it was so scripted. Saying all of that, I have never heard much of that or at all at any stadium, but I do agree some are more aggressive than others with their play calling. PS I was just stirring it a bit myself. Our announcer calls " ... and that's another Raider ... FIRST DOWN!!" encouraging the fans to join in yes, but he also calls "...and that's another *TEAM's* ... FIRST DOWN!!" when appropriate as well. Been there, heard him do it. He can't help that the home team's fans are overshadowing the PA system on the visitor's side ... ;D
  14. Ummmmm ... wasn't Asa on the team Lumberton played and spanked last year? Did he not play last year? If our boys handled him last year, why wouldn't they be able to handle him this year? We had ZERO running game last year. PERIOD. We threw the ball 85% of the time late in the season last year. Not saying y'all can't limit Asa at all, but he is not the entire offense as he was last season. Grogan is the offensive MVP and Brady, Vidrine, and Salenga are excellent options other than Cardenas. The offense is WAAAAAY BETTER than last season's which was a very one dimensional offense. With that being said, our defense is still quite porous and requires us to score a lot of points to win. Agree, to compare last years Ned offense to this years is way off base. Central exposed the game plan to beat Nederland... offensive ball control! Lumberton will have our hands full with this offense. We cannot afford to get into a shoot-out with them like Livingston did. We will need to run the ball and PA pass and connect and keep them off the field. We can be successful in containing the offense this way and disguising our looks. I believe Coach C will have a game plan and I expect this to be a great game. That's all well and good, however, the OP referred to "Asa alone", not to the entire offense. I believe that this will be a tough fought game, and if the Lumberton defense plays as it normally does, Nederland's offense is going to have to work very hard to overcome it. I honestly think it's anyone's game. I'm a Raider fan through and through, but even I will not post a brash statement about winning any game in this district, hands down. I didn't even do that for LCM and the poor ol' Bears haven't won a game all season. It's one thing to support your team, it's another to be ridiculous about it.
  15. Ummmmm ... wasn't Asa on the team Lumberton played and spanked last year? Did he not play last year? If our boys handled him last year, why wouldn't they be able to handle him this year?
  16. Credeur sat most of the starters and played the other kids in the second half, and sat all of the starters in the last quarter. Depth is not one of Lumberton's strengths. There aren't that many players on the team, honestly.
  17. Not according to Channel 6 --- they just announced Lumberton as District Champs
  18. Not a chance Coach C is Lumberton Alumni! Why would he want to go to a program that has been heading south and leave one that he got going north? It's not just that his program is heading north ... it's that he's come home and he's doing exactly what he's wanted to do for years. Help Lumberton become a winning program. We were 0-10 our senior year when Alvin was on the team. Don't think he liked that much.
