My boys (sophomore and junior) were notified yesterday that they both will be on the student committee being put together between the 2 schools that will put the school name, mascot, colors, etc. together.  They are supposed to meet Monday.

i was just about to ask the question, when do they expect to do the re-naming and color/mascot meetings

then why not travel outside the area/region ? it seems more programs are doing this regularly and if you are that good than go find competition that will risk taking a loss or maybe even make newton better? does it appear newton will remain a statewide 3a threat for years going forward or is there a rebuild season somewhere in the near future?

jasper always seems to have good looking kids that dont quite reach their potential but you can definitely tell the kids give it all they got. is this a down year for HJ in relation to what they are acustom to ? its funny to even say down when they win district still and go a couple rounds every year it seems

i did not expect this but who did? looks like things just got a lot more interested in district 23

Craus is the Groveton coach right? hasnt he won a bunch of games at Groveton lately? looks like several good applicants

I'm an outsider too, but I know a bunch of people in both schools and communities. Unification is something that is needed. It will make the school environment better and it will make life outside of school better if we can get everybody UNITED on one goal and one purpose, to make BISD the best district possible, academically, athletically and in the area of fine arts. 

absolutely can not forget those fine arts programs if you ask me

realistically should this not be a 30 point game in favor of silsbee ?

i was wondering this same thing last night. i dont know how difficult it is finding refs for the game if you changed it to an earlier time in the day or what all is involved in changing the schedule last minute for both school districts involved. i hope everyone is safe

give me east chambers by 10 at home in this contest and i also like kountze to win at home, but would not be shocked at all if ec wins both games. from what you all are saying EC is really good and should have a great opportunity to go deep in the playoffs

My coworkers son plays for Buna. I noticed these two teams are tied for 3rd in this district. Don’t Buna normally finish in the top few spots for basketball? And who is the favorite to win this game? I may go Friday to check it out

was I pretty close? last I heard it was 80 something to 50 something.....

i have not seen silsbee this year but i can imagine they are still very good. having seen HJ, i know there are times when they are capable of being a team that can cause teams trouble especially if the 3ball is going through the net all night.  the only time i seen HJ was in the tournament this year, when my Rebels were not playing, i watched several games.  i dont normally predict games like this, but I will go with a final score of
