Imo Don’t think it’s a down year just yet, one point loss to the bulldogs and then get in a good practice with lcm , then Newton which could possibly beat most Setx teams this year, so can’t say they are down just yet.

Nederland missed 2 kicking attempts as well in the WOS game. This years wos team is far from weak imo & WOS will make another successful run in district & the playoffs

WO-S fans should move on from this game. WO-S is going through growing pains. Newton will lose a  ton of people next year and will have to go through the same growing pains. WO-S will be all right as long as Cornell it there. Just in case WO-S want's to get rid of him, there is a long list of school that would love to have him, including Newton. WO-S will be all right. Regardless of what happens in pre district games, WO-S will walk through their district and you might just see them and Newton at AT&T stadium.

Been a long time since I’ve seen Newton come out the gate in mid- season form, hard to say where the weakness is, gonna say waterboys need to step it up and keep them hydrated lol

Hey, take it easy on the bandwagon fans. The only team we have been able to root for making it consistently past the third round of the playoffs has been WO-S and Newton. I graduated from a school that  takes an annual 55 to 0 beating from the Stangs' but hey, ill root for them if they are the only team from the area left in the playoffs.

Wos never does. u cant find out what u have by playing st Mary school for the blind and sisters of the dead. But there are alot of schools that rather play those kind of teams than play wos 

How did they do the last time newton beat them ? So saying that are the weakest is not calling them weak?  So had they won last night would they still be the weakest team in the last five years, heck no you would be saying this young team is gonna make some noise.

All the talk about WO-S finding a QB needs to take a rest. Please. The sophomore QB we have has tracked nicely upward with his play at every level since 7th grade. This was his second start, in wet and sloppy field conditions, with an all time great Newton team in front of him. That should stop being the measuring stick for this kid. He is right where he needs to be. Have patience and show some better reasoning here, please. He will be fine. I expect improvement from him throughout the season. So should you. Watch and see.

My main point is yes, WOS May be a little down at the moment but the season is still early. What some are forgetting is just how dang good Newton is this year. I would be willing to bet that is the last time Newton scores 21 points all year. This Newton team is on par with 2016 WOS....just a once in a generation type team....an L hurts but it wasn’t like WOS was beat by an inferior team. Hell, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Newton could run rough shot through 4A also! As I always do, I’ll be rooting for the Eagles to bring some more hardware back to SETX (ok, extreme North SETX) lol.

After that, I still believe Newton and WOS are the best 2 teams in SETX. Yes, WOS lost to Nederland but they never count lol!

WOS will be fine. Just needs to get the very young team on track.

WOS is still a very good team and only getting better. Newton is just a really, really good team. Sloppy night hurt both teams, but the best team is winning the game.
