Dupree was recruited by  UCLA, Texas, Alabama, Mississippi State, Georgia, Oklahoma, Colorado, LSU, Southern Mississippi, and Pittsburgh. He chose OU after a visit by Billy Sims. Coach Switzer decided to switch to the I formation to better utilize Dupree's abilities. So, it wasn't Aikman they changed the offense for it was Dupree.
