Are you saying they had no competition for the job?
Yes, that's exactly what i'm saying. And if there was any competition, it couldn't even beat him out, hence the NO competition comment.
You rag on Johnson and say that he didn't want to compete.  Then turn around and imply that Bevil had the job handed to him.  Then to make sure you cover all of your bases you say for Bevil to WIN the job there must not have been any competition (talent) on the team.  From the people I know all of the talk last summer was about the kid from West Texas A&M being the guy to beat out for the job.  So your statement about Bevil being handed the QB job at Lamar is not true.  For you and all of the others that are on Bevil's case EVERY QB has bad games.  Last year Super Bowl MVP had 3 ints last week and 2 in the loss to Atlanta.
hey texan where are the comments about ur boy bevil being so good at? why aren't you coming to his defense now? lol ur funny!
Never said Bevil was my "BOY". I just didn't want to let a stupid statement go unchecked.  And the statement about Bevil being handed the job was stupid. Here's your sign.  Now I'm REALLY Funny!!
and are you seriously comparing the play of a superbowl mvp to that of bevil? lol see, you are funny, i could read your stuff in the comic section! lol.

Didn't mean to strike a nerve, but come on, LU has work to do! and alot of it! starting with your boy bevil. (i am 29 though!! u were close!) just not on the score!! lol
 5. South Alabama by 20+. The reason being they're a run heavy offense, they will wear down an already weak run stopping defense that LU has shown week in and week out. I was at the Sam Houston game where on every obvious running situation LU acted as if they'd never seen a running play in their lives. S. Alabama "runs" away with this one big! Plus, Bevil is LU's QB!!

All i am saying  is he needs to realize that he's a freshman and he prob won't get the opportunity to play as a true freshman and he prob won't play as a sophmore, get in the weight room  get faster, bigger, and stronger and win the battle at the qb position but kids these days want everything handed to them and don't want to work for it i mean he's been the best athlete in his school all his career now he's in college and there are athletes just like him and its a little bit tougher for him now not just being the best!!!!Kids gotta learn to work hard , I mean nothing against the kid he's a heck of a athlete, I just don't see why all these kids come home...
Dude you can't generalize this situation. Every situation is different and I have no inside information on this young man. But, he is a true freshman playing behind a stud sophome. So, what the sophomore is going to quit lifting weights, quit running and doing things to get better. No, he is going to work his butt off too because they are at a high major university. If this kid was a junior or senior I'd probably agree with what you stated but that isn't the case here.
I'm tired of all these excuses some of you guys keep making for this kids reason for leaving WV . If the guy doesn't want to stay and compete for the starting job, then I wouldn't want him on my team to begin with. He knew when he signed with them that there would be a battle for the starting QB position. Heck, there's a battle for that position at most programs. It just shows a lack of character and drive that you must posess to play that position. If he wanted it handed to him, he should have considered a different school who promised him everything, including no competition whatsoever. (Lamar) (Bevil) LOL!!!
 9.
Andre Bevil does make some questionable throws and does turn the ball over too much. His leadership skills may need to improve (although the team choose him as a captain). But he is by far the best QB on our roster and he is breaking records. Sorry but no one else is close to being as talented or as experienced on the Lamar team than Andre Bevil. Plus the coaching staff has stated he is injured with a high ankle sprain. Lamar’s 300-Yard Club Name Opponent Yds. Andre Bevil McNeese St., 2010 429 Andre Bevil SE Louisiana, 2010 417 Shad Smith La.-Monroe, 1987 412 John Evans UT-El Paso, 1989 407 Larry Haynes UTA, 1979 403 John Evans Angelo St., 1989 393 Fred Hessen UTA, 1981 367 John Evans McNeese St., 1989 353 John Evans McNeese St., 1987 341 Ray Campbell Houston, 1983 326 Andre Bevil Sam Houston, 2010 310 Tommy Tomlin La. Tech, 1969 308 Shad Smith Texas State, 1988 304 He has only played 4 and 1/2 games and still putting up these numbers when hurt. Are you sure you aren't related or have some type of relationship with someone else at the QB position at Lamar because it is obvious Andre Bevil is the best QB on the roster currently. Does he need to get better. Yes, a lot better!
No, no relation to anyone on the roster, but you need to realize, there's a huge differance in being hurt, and being injured. You can't be carted off the practice field one day, and the next be back on it in full pads the next. And your right maybe about him being the best on the roster, but you have made my point for me. And for the guy who put that he doesn't expect LU to be able to compete with SFA, yet they can compete with McNeese who just lost to SFA by only 5 points and LU loses by 68???? LOL come on man. Where's the logic in that one?

I think we all expect the Cards to win....Still with that being said, its gonna take a little time.. We just may need to change some of our philosphies as coaches, players, and fans...The staff needs to figure out a way to put these guys in position to win, players need to perform on each and every play, and the fans need to support the program.... Go Cards..
that is a pointless article..dabe get paid or is he in a high school journalism class?
Well, I certainly hope the coach expects to win.  Hopefully he will start coaching better.  I have some suggestions:  1) blitz if the front 4 can't get pressure, move 2) 33 and 55 to linebacker and find some bigger defensive ends to replace them; 3) learn a play other than a bomb 4)find a punter that can punt further than 20 yards 5)find a new special teams coach that knows how to make adjustments 6) Learn to run the ball a little, or throw screen passes, or slants  7) If you aren't going to use Chavis on offense, move him to defensive end in place of that 215 pounder 8) put 23 on offense 9) find some secondary folks that can cover  10)get more players that will hit like Coleman and Garrett  11) If you aren't going to blitz, teach the linebackers how to drop back and cover the middle of the field better 12) I'll think of some more later....
I think Ray is pleased with his special teams...in that interview
The very first thing they have to do is get rid of that prima donna QB Bevil. If you watch him play, the first thing you'll see is horrible play, followed by limping after an int, then throwing his hands up like it's all everyone elses fault he just threw into quadruple coverage off his back foot. The kid is bad, and if that's the best they have then card fans need to get ready for a long couple of seasons to come. and for those who don't like what i've said, look at what he's said about breaking records, and that he can't wait to break some more, that's all great, but he needs to be focused on winning, that's all, the records will come.
 11. ouch.....it's over now all but the fat lady!!!! this one surprised me though
 12. who has the ball?how much time left? down and dist. please!!! come on guys don't slack on us now!!!
 13. It was nice last night at the LU/SHSU game to finally hear anyone from LU acknowledge the fact that the last conf. championship to come from LU happened in 1971. I just don't understand why people think that one win superceeds a whole seasons accomplishments. That class ('71)won 7 consecutive games dating back to the prev. season, including the tri-championship in '71.(the last one LU has had). Louisiana Tech, Trinity, and Lamar shared the '71 confrence championship with (4-1)confrence records. And not to take anything away from the '81 teams great win (18-17) over Baylor, but that year they went (4-6-1). But for some reason, that's all people around here keep talking, or care about??? I guess it's just me, but I personally would rather have a conf. champ. ring on my finger any day then a one point win over Baylor, and a losing season. I just feel that people need to give more credit to the guys who brought us our last championship to Lamar. Congrats 1971 LU confrence champs, i'm proud of what you accomplished, and I hope others will finally give ya'll the recognition you deserve.
 14. Yeah, but they can outscore the other team yeah, but that won't win 'em a title
 15. boy gabe every time i reply to one of your rediculous comments my karma goes down. LOL thats hilarious, almost as funny as you.
 16. I really thought Lumberton would win this one, thats the bad thing about young men reading all of this stuff we put on these sites about how many points they'll win by, I guess it makes them too over confident when they read all week that they're supposed to blow a team out, maybe it's our fault??? Still very proud!!!!
 17. Touchdown King and they go for 2 points and fails with 0:53 seconds remaining. Nederland 35-34 and about to get the kickoff. Lumberton just lost 31-21 to Crosby, too confident i guess????
