  1. We do have trouble hanging on to the football sometimes.  All in all though I think we win this one walking away.  LCM has a quick little back, but our defense should keep him in check.  Our offense should click a little better this week.  I dont think LCM has the team speed in this one.  They could be a very good team though from looking at the film.

Great job Barbay and scouting crew.....Can't believe your fans were second guessing you last week.... ::)

I don't think the fans were questioning just stating that we needed to fix some problems in order to beat La Marque.  In fact I think we still need to cure fumblitis before we can be elite
  4. Well that's good.  We still have a lot of good teams in the region.  I'm not sure what to think about Stephenville on the other side.  They lost the first one to the team from Mexico and then took it out on Aledo and Ozen.  Stephenville may go big school as well.  So other than region 3 not sure who is strong in the other regions.  I know Wimberely has lost twice already.

    2 Vidor
    3 Dayton
    4 WOS
    5 Coldspring

This is What I got.  I only give the nod WOS above my Trojans because they have took care of business.  I think that if we don't lose to Navasota in week 1 we are the top team, but we did not.  SETX is loaded this year it is very difficult for the pollsters and then to try and rank across three classifications makes it even that much more difficult.
  6. Don't know much about the Bears.  I know they lost to WO-S early in the year.  I'm sure we should beat them as long as we don't have a letdown after the big win over La Marque.  I'm gonna go out on a limb and say 35-7.  I have never been down to that neck of the woods anywhere good to eat or something interesting see on my way through?
  7. Navasota is very good and very disciplined.  They probably should have played for a title last year.  I hope they go division 1 again this year.  If we do have to play them again I think we could beat them.  We just have to play with more heart and eliminate the mistakes.  They are very good at capitalizing on opponent mistakes.  I love this non-district schedule and really believe it will help the boys come playoff time.
  8. I hate that it took losing to Navasota to wake us up but, at least we're awake now.  I only got to listen to the second half.  From what I heard though we done a much better job.  We still need to eliminate turnovers.  We could have won the game in regulation if not for the fumble down at the 2 yard line.  Way to go Trojans.  We got another challenge again next week with LCM.
  9. I have seen La Marque on video and yes they are very quick and athletic up front and very quick in the secondard.  I dont think they are any better than Carthage in 2010 and I would rank them right there with Navasota this year. I think if we fix some of our problems from the Navasota game we can beat them.  I dont think La Marque is really that good offensively.  They have athletes outside and a good little back, but there offensive line is very suspect.  The QB is gonna be under pressure all night long and the running game will probably get shut down just like Navasota.  Their QB does not throw as well as the Navasota QB.  This is all coming from what I saw on film of them.

  11. For the Trojans our offensive line needs to get better and get in shape.  We have to eliminate turning the ball over.  The defense looked pretty good, but u could tell we really missed #3.  We got to do a better job of tackling also.  I know the loss hurts, but hopefully this will wake the kids up to practice harder this week because the schedule doesn't get any easier with #1 La Marque this week.
  12. I'm not turning on the Trojans or anything to the sort.  When talking about the cut blocking I was referring to exactly that about the pulling.  I have never been a fan of cut blocking.  If u miss u don't have much of a chance to recover.  As a former line coach and player I just pointed out some things we need to fix.  If anyone really knew me and who I was they know I would never turn my back on the Trojans.  I'm no fair weather either.
  13. One of the biggest problems is a lot of guys are out of shape.  Especially on the offensive line.  I don't where this theory of cutting every play came in, but it has to go.  Against a quick athletic defensive like Navasota u can't cut them u have to stay on ur feet and put a body on them.  Our defense looks good are offense needs a lot of help.  Whoever said about the Kirbyville game a few years a go is right on point.  I really felt we could beat them and with that loss the teams mind got right.  My hope with this loss these guys get serious and practice harder and get themselves in shape.  I don't believe Navasota is that much better than us.  I believe if we play like we are capable that we can beat them.  These kids need to get it going.
