Never in a million years did this Dayton Bronco think he would be cheering on the Crosby Cougars, but WHAT. A. GAME. I walked from my classroom to the stadium and that was definitely worth not going home! Y'all have an amazingly loud fanbase! Did I mention loud? That's the loudest I've heard Abe Martin in the 4.5 years I've been in Lufkin. Anyways, what a heck of game, Crosby! Good luck next week as y'all play Liberty Hill! This Bronco-turned-Lufkin Panther will be rooting for y'all!

Thank you! Those are some bad-A homemade cowbells made by one of Crosby's biggest fans!

Was it you that was standing on the rooftop to the side of the big screen?

  2. Texarkana Texas High (12-0) vs Crosby (11-2), 7:30 p.m. Friday at Lufkin’s Martin Stadium: It’s a rematch of an area round playoff game from a year ago, when Crosby announced themselves as a bona fide state title contender with a rout of unbeaten Texarkana Texas High. Once again unbeaten Texas High takes on Crosby, but this time the roles are reversed as Crosby comes into this one as the favorite on the strength of a strong regular season and the pedigree of last year’s run to a state title game. Last week Texas High crossed state lines into Louisiana and took care of Crosby’s district rival Port Neches-Groves with relative ease in a 44-21 win. RB Braylon Stewart continued his tear in the playoffs rushing for 190 yards and three touchdowns, while the Tigers defense held an explosive off from PNG to just 258 yards, with much of that coming when the game was well in-hand in the fourth quarter. Crosby on the other hand, had to hold off a furious rally from A&M Consolidated in a 53-50 victory. QB Cyrin Myles threw for 268 yards and added 122 yards rushing and three touchdowns, while WR/DB Kamren Kirkwood had over 200 total yards, a receiving touchdown and he picked off two passes for the Cougars as well. Last year Crosby’s offense threw up 62 points in their blowout of Texas High, that loss hasn’t been forgotten up in Texarkana so expect the Tigers defense to play inspired football, but will that be enough to slow down this incredibly dynamic Crosby attack? Stepp’s Pick: Crosby by 9

Congrats Crosby! Texas High is going to be a lot tougher than last year, should be a great game. As for Consolidated that freshman QB and Soph RB’s will have them sitting pretty the next several seasons.

Yes as long as they can reload on the D/O- line they will be a strong favorite in reg 3!

As for Texas high I have to say first to 50 wins. They have big butterball linemen that our fast d line will be able to take advantage of.

There defense is nowhere close to the size of AMC (thank goodness) so that will help tremendously! They are faster tho so we will have to be ready for that.

I'm not sold on Texas high and the record they have. They have yet to break 50 in a game this season I think if Crosby comes out and punches them in the mouth again like last year it will be a wild ride!

Lol come on 5 turnovers and won by 3. Y’all are gonna miss the hell out of kirkwood..that catch like many plays he has made all season saved the game.

the ints were nothing special, the freshman qb got away with a bunch of prayers against BH. If they played again that wasn’t gonna happen regardless of who the opponent was.  That kid is gonna be good but he isn’t ready yet.

And don’t tell me about being up double digits with 5 minutes left..it’s irrelevant and Crosby was again one onside kick from possibly losing the game which was a much different story than the 28 Pt non competitive games most Crosby fans were predicting.

The point of all the points your desperately trying to make is irrelevant. Crosby took care of business and the hill came up short. Barbers hill had many different opportunities to put the game away and it didn't happen.  Crosby made a few adjustments at the half and were able to get some much needed stops as well as win the turnover battle.

Could Crosby have lost? Yes but here we are headed to lufkin to play Texas High In December. Had the hill taken care of business I honestly believe yall would have had the higher hand and be playing ball next week, but ya didn't.

BTW it's week 4 baby! Let's talk about Texas High, AMC is old news!

I was saying in another post. The Indians have the whole O line back, the QB, the top 3 WRs, we literally have 17 starters back next season. Our district should realignment keep us all together should be good prep for whomever makes it out alive to the playoffs next year. PNG was so young this season most people dont know were able to make it this far with 17 underclassmen starting.     GO Cougs.

Yall have had my support after we played yall at the res. The district as a whole should be a extremely tough out next year between Crosby, PNG, Barbers Hill, and ?

Once this season is over I will be very much looking forward to next year's district run. Very possible one of the top 5 in 5A D2.

I  agree, I was a believer in FBM. Not bc of dctf and their rankings though. I do not subscribe to them being the end all be all in txhsfb like some do. I thought this was going to be a different year for them in the trenches. However, I was wrong. But I was right when I called Timberview beating Ennis.

    Good luck to yall today

I think it may be time to congratulate China Springs on a great season, and good luck in basketball.

Carthage beat a pretty durn good 5A-D2 Crosby team, and for those that didn’t watch any of it, they did it while trying to decide which QB to use.  Spending almost half the game with the wrong one.  They’re not just good, they’re real good.  Would most likely win 4A-D1 and may could win 5A-D2.  That’s just my opinion so don’t break your keyboard in rebuttal, I just think they’re that good, and with each Crosby win, it enforces my belief.

I have to be honest here tho, if Crosby and Carthage lined up today it would be a hell of a game. Both teams were looking for there identity, Crosby found there's during the barbers hill game and hasn't looked back

I don't have a dog in the hunt anymore, but it seems pretty clear to me,

    Crosby, Texas High, AMC, PN-G.

Man we were so close to having 3 teams going on to the 3rd rd!!! My brother in law  #26 was the fella who recovered the bobbled kick to start the 2nd half, major momentum change, really wish they would have pulled it off.
