1. It didn't surprise me. He tried to leave every year he was there. He took an assistants job. Good Luck Deweyville.
2. No It is a reference to how the parents operate now. The Coach before Toot did not do any conditioning and Toot came in and coached the kids with conditioning and telling them what to do and since he was not from there a select few village idiots did everything to complain about his program. Now that the other tragic situation happened I don't know if I would touch any job in that district, not for fear but they do not go about their complaints they right way. It is social media first and school board second and the coach may get contacted at some time after that. It's a bad deal
3. I believe they were calling for Toot's head his first year for yelling and screaming from my sources and the success of his program advancing further than ever before helped him out. He is a heck of a coach and will be missed
4. if it is Jacks he better not run them or condition them or yell at them because they will tell momma and the school board will want to know why he is being mean to the little darlins
5. Stump and Brewton are good coaches
6. Not even Superintendents get 5 year contracts. Mott and Gilmore had their own agendas and if Dale would have been a consideration then the Posting for the board meeting would have had a line about the resignation of a board member and then a line about the replacement of a board member. They would have then had to schedule another board meeting to hire a head coach/AD. There is also great leadership in that district if you look at the districts accomplishments academically and other areas. Athletics is not the only area ( but some people didn't want that to succeed either).
7. Wasn't there some issue about a brother in law being on the Board? Anyone think this could have been a problem? Maybe the brother in law didn't want to get off of the Board.
8. they have been looking for something for 3 years to get rid of him
9. I honestly believe that the next challenge for WOS will be in the playoffs. I saw them against Nederland and their defense is unbelievable.  They will have to get their offense going against better comp.  They will do well and I know that every school that plays WOS respects them.
10. Everyone should expect to win or you should not play. I would be more concerned with a team and fans who are saying things like " this is an outstanding team that we are playing and we will have to be firing on all cylinders tonight.". That tells me they are focused and are going to be ready.  The guys who come out and say we are gonna win by 60-0 and then you don't it is just smack.  My guess is that it is not the players doin the talking because the team and coaches is quiet respect. Take a cue from Mack Brown, like him or not he is always singing the praises of his opponent.
11. who from HF is complaining about refs? the only ones that I see complaining are WOS fans.  WOS fans it appears you guys have the real deal going here.  Don't ruin it by complaining and being arrogant.  Your team is probably the best team in 2 districts from what I have seen and heard.  You neet to really enjoy this, it could be something special.  Don't be bad fans and disrespect the teams.
12. I can't believe that some of you are ready to throw in the towel after the first game.  Your defense did a great job only allowing a nine yard drive for a TD.  Offense has some kinks to work out the freshman did a good job he will be a work in progress and will make freshman mistakes. The rest of the team needs to rally around him and he will lead you. I hope they find a place for the other QB and accepts his role and knows his role and leads from this point on and does not pout.
13. i's time for the community to get behind the new guy.  It's your kids he's coaching and if you want your kids to be successful you better support them at least.  They gripped about tarver his whole HF carreer now he is one of the legends.  give the new guy a chance.
14. So what do the people of Kountze think about this.  I find it hard to beleive that Coach Dale didn't put his stamp of approval on all of this.  Just move on with the job you have.  I would think the kids from Kountze might take his actions as a slap in the face, do you care as much as you said.
15. I believe you did more than drive the bus and go along for the ride.  You had to do a lot of coaching to get the results you did.  Congrats Coach Neal job well done.
16. If they are not moving for athletic purposes then sell your house and move to beaumont or where ever you want to move.  Don't live in the HF district and let your daughter go to HF and send your boys somewhere else.  If that is not moving for athletic purposes it will take a lot to convince me otherwise.
17. It is really sad for HF and other schools when a parent will use a different address in order for their child to play for a better team.  That is not the intent of the UIL and the reason why there are district boundries.  If they move to Beaumont that is well within their righrts to do that but to use a relative's address is stretching the rules. I know it happens all the time but it doesn't make it right.
18. I think they were there in the 90's and early 2000.  Tarver would have been AD.
19.
Coaching boys and girls is different. Anyone with kids of opposite genders knows that. Nice ol Gary Blair at A&M would not be treated with the same respect by the men's team there. It makes you wonder if the AD there really cares about boys basketball when he hires someone like that.
How can you say that? It's not even basketball season and you claim this guy is a loser.  You need to wait and see what happens.  That is so ridiculous.  He may just be the right guy for the job.  Give him a chance and I bet you will see something good.  you never know
20. I don't understand why everyone makes a big deal about the basketball coach being a former head girls coach.  I don't know the man's past but being successful on any level can carry over.  If he teaches the fundamentals and the game of basketball to the kids gender should not play a role.  What is all the talk about teaching to the test.  The test is based on the state curriculum so if you teach the state curriculum then I guess you teach to the test. I have seen good coaches win game with inferior talent as well as see great talent underachieve.  Coaching is important and the whole puzzle has to fit to win championships.  If you have ever looked at the UIL brackets you might understand that it is a very difficult thing to win a state championship.  Didn't Bum say there are 2 types of coaches "them that's been fired and them that's gonna be fired"  Come coaches get fired because of lack of talent and high expectations.  Average talent with a successful bought into program can win a lot of games.
21. To much interference from parents.  They think they know more than the coaches, always trying to find a way to get their kids out of the work.  Instead of parental support they kill the program.  Coaches want to go somewhere that they can work without constant interference.  Parents should support not interfere.
