Apparently, game time has been moved to 6 p.m. per Livingston twitter. I would love to see chaos but i think Livingston is locked into 4 no matter what. Play hard, don't get hurt and get ready for next week.

Says who? Anyone can have a bad year. Look at Aaron Rodgers. Besides, they will still make the playoffs and win 2 games at least. This is much ado about nothing.

IDK which livingston team shows up. They made a lot of mistakes last week and took a significant step backwards. Vidor's offensive style may be more conducive to a better defensive showing. Livingston spoils homecoming by 6.

Huffman ain't making the playoffs. Lumberton/LC-M will be one or two. Vidor and Livingston will fight for third.

Orange has too many high schools. There should just be two - Orange and whatever you want to call the Bridge City-Orangefield combination. Bigger schools would mean they could offer more programs. I'm enjoying Mustang fans loose their mind over a team that will probably still go three rounds deep.

Livingston may be the one shot LC-M has to win district. I doubt they beat Lumberton, but stranger things have happened. Hope the Bears can win out. I'd like for the Lions to find a way to finish better than 4th.

All those nasty tobacco stains in outfield was nasty... And that trey grass system they used to use at NRG was terrible. You would twist an ankle if you weren't careful.

The stadium situation didn't help either. It was a drought year. Shame they couldn't get the turf in before the season. I like grass though. Just so hard to maintain The turf looks pretty but the players getting hurt on it troubles me. Hopefully the NFL goes back to grass and everyone follows their lead

Honestly, I thought LC-M would have become more competitive with West Orange -Stark due to WO-S's rapidly declining enrollment. Maybe this will be the decade we actually make it a rivalry. Gotta win for it to mean something. Remember 1983. Remember 1994. They have a good coach. They need to win at Mustang Stadium next year.

Made it back to the lake in a few minute smoking a Victory cigar. LC-M winning is always good for me.

No. I wish they would join Texan Live. KETX the Eagle. They do a good job of calling the game with Ken Luck and Brian Besch. The pregame show starts a 515 and they go over all the games in Beaumont and Houston. Highly recommend it.

Huffman isn't huffman this year. Livingston is susceptible to giving up long passes. If you can hold the line long enough for someone to get 25 yards down field, you got a 50/50 shot of scoring.

That was two years ago, actually. I don't think I posted much last year. No more children playing. Thought I'd take a break from watching children's games for a while... The whole reason I moved up here was to get away from children's games, only to be sucked back in because the kids wanted to play and the teams needed people to help coach. Livingston was bitten by the injury bug last year hard. Not an excuse, just part of the game. They are healthy this year. LC-M may have the best player on the field but Livingston probably has the next 5-6 before we get back to the Bears. I expect a track meet. I'd also like bragging rights over my sons. i just can't see the Bears winning.

It's gonna be a shoot out. Livingston is fast and has more weapons. They can't defend the pass to save their life. Wouldn't surprise me that the team with the ball last wins the game. I'm picking my adopted hometown Lions over my hometown Bears. It's gonna be a long, sad ride home to Bear Path.

So you're saying a 1-2 team can't make it to state? Gotcha. I never thought I'd see the day when mustang fan would turn out to be a whiner and a quitter. Y'all should be ashamed of yourselves. Its a tough district. Should prepare you for the playoffs. Quit living in the past and focus on the task at hand -this season. Because it's the only season that counts.

The district win streak had to end sometime, right? Nothing lasts forever. Their fans are so spoiled, they can't comprehend that the guys on the other sideline might be as talented or maybe more. They're in a tough district. They just have to deal with it.

Yes they have. Several posters have pointed out multiple season where they lost 4-5 games in a season. Both Hooks and Thompson had off seasons. Most recently was 2018. The only thing that matters is making the playoffs and advancing. Mustang fans have short memories and are very spoiled.

Isn't WO-S the smallest team in its district? The school isn't growing. Maybe dropping down to 3A would help. WO-S is everyone's super bowl. That they had a tremendous run of success in district before this year is a testament to the excellence of the program. Down years happen. And Silsbee and H-F are very good teams. The most important thing is making the playoffs. I feel bad for the first place winner in the cross district.

Feeling a little better about this team. They have improved every week. Still give up too many big plays. But they have enough talent to make district interesting. They just might beat LC-M next week.

It's a hard job. Sometimes the talent on the field just isn't good enough to win the game. You can have a well coached team that just got stuck in a rough district and that's the breaks. These are children playing a game. Just a few years ago, you had a hard time getting them to run in the right direction in pee wee ball. And you hated when the parents fussed at you when you were doing the best you could to show them the fundamentals of the game. Amplify this by a few thousand on Friday night and it would give you nightmares and ulcers. Are the kids playing hard? Does he put the kids in the best position to win or at least be competitive? Do the kids execute and not beat themselves with silly unforced penalties? Do they look better every week, despite the score? If you can answer yes, then give the guy some slack, even if you don't like the record. Only 12 teams are going to win the last game of the season. That said, the head football coach is typically the second highest paid employee of the school district. He should not be above criticism. If he isn't cutting it, go attend a school board meeting and make your feelings known. If that doesn't work, then vote those bums out or run for a seat yourself. But to hate on a man because he lost a game to a rival or better team is ridiculous. At this level, he is a teacher instructing kids on how to play the game properly, the value of team work, how to handle adversity and most importantly keep them safe.

Hopefully the Lions can right the ship this week. I'll take keeping it within 10 points as an improvement.

The Louisiana schools spend around 12million. Lamar is closer to 19 million. Lamar would probably need to spend 7 million more a year to be serious about a better conference but a better conference has better payouts, better games and higher revenue because you can host FBS schools. Look at Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern, Georgia State and App State. No one knew who they were 20 years ago. You could argue that Lamar was better known than them. Not any more. The leadership and vision at Lamar, and Beaumont in general, is sorely lacking.
