No UIL team should have to compete with academies for state titles anyways. It's bs. I can almost promise you all those kids ain't from the same neighborhood.

They could shoot lights out. In that Tourney was a team from NYC that played like they were in Rucker Park!!! I also saw Yates back in 2008/09 destroy those types of teams. I think Silsbee will be good to win a game or 2. Experience is key here. They will run thru district and I dont think they will see close game till the Regionals. I'm hoping Silsbee gets a win or two at this tournament. Not expecting for more than that, if we're being realistic. I see La Marque is in 4A again. Silsbee still owes them a few more beatings in something after those 90s football games.

Was thinking they may have been like Strake Jesuit, but apparently not.

I don't think schools like that should be allowed to play in the UIL either, especially in basketball. 

So Family Faith is allowed to play in the UIL?

St Marks gotta be a loaded private school.

For Silsbee I think the main thing that needs to be worked on is playing solid ball for all four quarters. If they had played Skyline like they did in the second half, they would have had a good chance to win. Can't show up for only one half of basketball against other good teams and expect to win.

Just continue to improve and get better.

Not the end of the world losing a game in December.

Need to learn how to deal with teams like this. Classification isn't an excuse when another 4A team has already beaten them by nearly 20 points. It's not a total loss if Silsbee can learn something from this. Same thing happened last year with Duncanville.

Been a few years since Silsbee played Skyline. Think McCain and Adams were sophomores back then. Skyline likes slow, low scoring games. They beat Silsbee by about 10 points, I think. They were highly ranked that year. Don't know how good they're supposed to be this year.

I believe North Shore loses some players in the trenches. I'm sure they have players to fill those gaps, but they'll be a little more inexperienced. 

Duncanville's QB is amazing. I wouldn't want to see him again if I were NS.
