Lumberton has played a bunch of weak teams this season. They should be ashamed of themselves for that schedule and beating up on those teams. Silsbee by 3 touchdowns. The Tigers aren't great, but they'll look like the New England Patriots compared to everything else the Raiders have seen this year.

If there's any glimmer of hope it's this: Silsbee should have an exceptional team within the next 2 years. By that time most all of these Yates transfers will be gone. They have a few bad recruiting seasons after that, and the region will belong to Silsbee once again for a few years.

You'd think someone in their district would. I mean, they have to know they're going to get beat down by 100+ points come district play. Maybe they just don't care.

So does West Brook have a chance now? Or is North Shore gonna be really pissed the rest of the year and take it out on everyone else.

North Shore's defense has to be near death at this point.

and to answer the question, no, Silsbee doesn't have a chance at state next year now. They should have a pretty special team in a year or two, but I'm not even sure that will be enough anymore.

Well I'm glad Silsbee got a few rings while they could. Super teams are the future, I guess. Between Yates and Faith Family. I'm sure more will pop up. Yes I realize a lot of teams (including Silsbee) gets a transfer here and there, but this is ridiculous.

Yeah he's already 6`4 and 200 + pounds as a freshman. Would like to see him shoot up to at least 6`6. Got plenty of time to grow. Can't wait for him to terrorize district for the next few years. Jayce is his name, I think. Something like that anyways. Him and Thomas alone are two 6`4 players Silsbee will have. Should have a few more guys in the 6`0 - 6`2 range. Don't know where people get Silsbee won't have any size next year from.

Size won't be the reason Silsbee doesn't make it to state. Silsbee has another Jones not named Malik that's 6`4, but I don't know if he's playing basketball or not. They could actually be more consistent across the board in size than last year depending on who all is playing.

That other big kid from HJ didn't do much but want to shoot 3s in the game I saw him play. I think he was 6`6 or something. Didn't seem like he was much of a factor in the Silsbee games. One thing that's gonna hurt early on is Silsbee is not having a full squad till after football this year. One or two starters will be missing for a while. Didn't matter as much this past season with Devon and Jordyn holding it down.

Silsbee has talented kids on the way, but I do think inexperience will keep them from making it to state. Jones and Baltrip should make an impact. Elam may get moved up to varsity or at least JV, I don't know. Hope he shoots up in height just a bit over the summer. No state next year, but the not-so-distant future for the Tigers is very bright

Bridge City could possibly play for 3rd place in district next year. Hampshire Fannent had a solid freshman class this year from what I could tell. They may start to put a more competitive team on the count real soon.

Silsbee kids better be sure to get them grades right next year. Way too many FR and JV players missed half the season. I would expect Raymond Baltrip to make a big impact on varsity next year.

PA Lincoln is the main reason Silsbee didn't get a ring back in the day. They were the better team more often than not. Silsbee could have been the second best team in the state and not made it out of region because the Bumblebees were doing their thing back then. They finally started getting the best of Lincoln towards the end of that schools lifespan. I was a little too young to have seen Darrel MacArthur play. I started going to games shortly after that and remember his brother Andrew playing. I think I may have been 10 years old back then.

It's apples and oranges comparing what public and private schools can get away with. Calvin Tyler came from Ozen and helped Silsbee with depth at the point guard position during their first title run. That, however, is a far cry from some teams trying to emulate the Golden State Warriors in high school.

As has been mentioned before in this thread, the entire Cedar Hill coaching staff moved to FF. The coaches themselves stated the goal was to win a championship. You can bet another FF will pop up if/when they win. I guess buying state titles will be the new way to do things in the future.
