Silsbee can push region next year. Got one kid with mad skills that should be on varsity next year. If he can keep improving, he can be a very good player on varsity. Also had a couple of really athletic kids on JV that were done in by grades. We'll see how they turn out. Silsbee will have two very good freshman classes coming up the next two years They might can push state again in 2021.

Yates had the better overall team. Much as I hate to say it. Funny thing is, a lot of those Yates guys were on the team last year to go with their two superstar players and lost by 17 points. They really were more of a complete squad this year. I hope next year Silsbee will be that way. Can't rely on one or two guys always scoring 35 points a game to win. I'd rather see 7 or 8 kids going for about 12 points a piece or something like that. One thing that really bothered me this game was how many easy baskets/dunks Yates had. Silsbee takes a lot of chances on defense, and when it goes wrong, it leads to easy baskets. I know 32 minutes of hell may scare lesser teams into submission before the first quarter is over, but it usually doesn't work when your opponent is as good as you are. That's one reason we almost always lose to good 6A teams. Get some kids back on defense, learn to take a charge. Clog that paint up. If the other team beats you cause they made 25 3-pointers, then so be it. I know that may sound like blasphemy to suggest something other than press and run, but sometimes you got to mix it up and do something different.

Should be an interesting game. Really can't say I'm a big fan of Faith Family. Hope some other team wins besides them in 4A this year.

Really wanted that match up as well. Not sure if Silsbee would have matched up with Faith Family very well, if I'm being honest. They look look like one of those big 6a schools playing in 4a.

I think Silsbee can push region next year. Gonna be a little younger and less experienced, which will result in some growing pains.

Great season for Silsbee. I know this ain't how our seniors wanted to go out, but things don't always go your way. That's life. Be interesting to see how Yates does against whoever comes from region 2 now.

Looks a lot like the game from last year. Wouldn't hurt for Silsbee to try and take a few charges.

They'll definitely be remembered, regardless of what happens the rest of this year. All Silsbee fans own them a thanks for finally going all the way and getting a few rings. I agree they're not as deep as the team from two years ago. That squad could play with just about any team in the state regardless of classification. Wouldn't be so sure about it being a while before we can make another run. Lots of talent coming up to Silsbee High School these next two years.

The paranoid part of me thinks it's only a matter of time before they get you. Meaning they keep playing us, they'll eventually win one. Hope that doesn't happen for at least another year. I've only seen Yates play one entire game all year. I hope those of y'all predicting a 15 point Silsbee win are right.

Probably gonna miss the entire game tomorrow. Not sure if I like surprises when I go to check a final score. Silsbee was not very Tiger like at all most the night. Every time it looked like Silsbee was gonna put them away earlier, we'd turn the ball over and they'd make a 3. That little guard for Life took the ball from Braylon about 3 times. Devon couldn't make up his mind on whether to dunk or lay the ball up and missed an easy shot. Free throw shooting was just alright, not great. Not much effective pressure till the end of the game either. They looked seriously frustrated at Life's patient offense most the game. I know these are young legs we're talking about, but I wonder if all the games Silsbee has played these past few years don't have our kids feeling worn down a little at times. Hope they get a good nights rest tonight.

Real question: where was this Silsbee team at we saw in the last 3 minutes or so. Were they asleep or something? Did Coach Sigler have to scream at them "Guys you know we're playing a game RIGHT" in that last timeout.

It's over. Silsbee finally decided to show up these last minutes.

Refs have been fairly consistent. Only call that pissed me off was the 3rd foul on Devon.

Tigers have looked frustrated most the night. Gonna have to stop getting upset when the refs make a bad call like the last one on Devon.

We just need a good Tiger Run to start the 3rd. Don't let this team stick around till the 4th.
