They did what they were supposed to against a bad team. Nothing that exciting really. -

Think that was the girl's score. Boys is 75 - 33 in the 3rd. -
I don't guess that 8th grade class BC had that was pretty good has made the transition to high school very well yet. Silsbee should win by a decent bit. It probably won't be as bad as some people think. Starters will likely get a lot of rest.

Yeah, it's weird. BU had a really good showing against top level competition. Kimball lost 72 - 64 against ESD. That team then gets handled pretty easily by Dallas Carter. Oh well. All that really matters is who's left standing at the end.

I'll take Dville, BU, and (unfortunately) Faith Family out of those matchups. Beaumont United should be #1 in 5A now. If the Episcopal Saints of whatever they're called can take out Kimball, there's no reason to think BU can't do it again.

I don't think CJ Ford played either. A loss is a loss though. They meet in the playoffs, I think DV gets revenge if they're fully powered up.

Was all their kids playing? Black was having eligibility issues again. Him and another starter were missing against Desoto.

One thing I noticed is that they aren't as quick to call jump balls when kids get tied up. Often it was a foul on somebody instead. Don't know if that's normal, or if was just that way in this tourney. Man this Madison game just really made me angry though. There's no way we beat them on what was a bad night for us and then get blown out. Only explanation is we gave a poor effort and didn't want it. Inexcusable. And no, showing up when the game was all but over doesn't count. I guess we can find our way again against the mighty Bridge City Cardinals in about a week. Silsbee still has a chance to make it to state. We're lucky we only have to worry about one or two teams in our way that we'd probably be a slight favorite against. Got a lot of work to do if we want to win it though.

Silsbee didn't even play very well and beat Madison a few weeks ago. Now they're slapping us around by 25 points most the game. Beyond pathetic. You can pump the brakes on all that going to state talk, as far as I'm concerned. Proof is in the pudding. You played though teams and came up small. That's all on us and nobody else.

Playing Carter then playing an arguably even better Bishop Lynch team in one day is tough. I don't really like the idea of "good losses" but hopefully we'll now get better and improve going forward. Sadly we don't have the parts we need to fix some things. I think we're still a year away from being serious contenders.

They were, but stuff like that happens nearly every game. If we had just kept the game close at halftime (which we SHOULD have easily done) and came out fresh with Harris playing, we would have had a great chance to win. The team Silsbee is playing next beat Carter by 2 points earlier in the season, so the Tigers had better bring it for this next game.
