  1. Center had some pretty big boys last year. Like three kids 6`6. They also shot the ball pretty badly in the previous game against the Tigers. Of course this year ain't last year, so we'll see how it goes. I'll be a little more conservative in my prediction and say Silsbee by 12 - 15.
  2. Silsbee doesn't play HF. They got Center and Dallas Carter next. After the Dallas tourney, it's nothing but district opponents.
  3. Tiger Scoring: Harris - 19 Miller - 18 Bottley - 11 Harper - 8 Haynes - 5 Williams - 4 Cartwright - 4 Jackson - 3 Elam - 3 Brisbane - 2 I believe Silsbee made nine 3 pointers.
  4. Problem is it's hard to keep shooting the ball like HJ did in the first quarter for the whole game. That's also the worst 1st quarter of b-ball I've seen Silsbee play all year by a pretty wide margin. Boys looked like they had their minds on Christmas presents instead of basketball. Thankfully Bottley kept it from getting completely out of hand by hitting a few 3s early.
  5. No dunks unless someone got one when I left with about 2 minutes to go. Looking at the score, I'd say it was 0 - 0 in that department. Miller missed one. HJ's coach was pissed at his players. Called a timeout twice just to yell at them in the second half. Just glad Silsbee realized a basketball game was being played after the first quarter.
  6. He needs to sit down. Coach Sigler took it easy on them in the first half. Acting like the refs cost them the game or something lol.
  7. Oh wow we made it to 100 after all. Didn't think we had a chance the way we were playing when I left. It was freezing in that gym tonight 🥶
  8. Getting a little sloppy on defense in the 4th.
  9. Hmmm....I give that one a 7/10.
  10. Game would be over already if we didn't rotate out the starters so much.
  11. OF had a few really good shooters last year. Don't know if any of them are back this year. They might can keep it interesting for just a little bit if they get hot from 3 point land.
  12. Bottley made five 3 pointers. Probably had around 20 points. Haynes played but he wasn't his usual self at all. May take a few games for things to start to feel right. Still don't know the exact status of our 6`4 freshman. Haven't seen him since the injury. Hopefully he can come back and get some games under his belt later in the year.
  13. Little point guard for Lufkin ain't too bad.
  14. Silsbee isd has been. Look it up in Youtube Tiger JV loses by 20. Gonna be a long season.
  15. I'll take the Tigers by 6. Think we lost a close one to them last year. Hope we get our starting PG back soon.
  16. They need to work on this foul trouble thing. Gonna get us beat against a good team.
  17. LaGrange had some respectable squads not so long ago. Don't know what's going on with b-ball in this corner of Louisiana.
  18. Anybody care to see Duncanville play a full game: This just ain't fair. Almost all their starters are close to 6`8, and they got a 6`10 coming off the bench. #11 makes 3s like they're layups.
  19. We're gonna get soft playing games like this. Surely there has to be one or two good teams at this event. Got a pretty hard game coming up Tuesday.
  20. Dville beat Montverde. When was the last time a "regular" public school could beat top academy teams? Yates?
  21. They need to get scary if they want to have a chance at state, assuming they can make it. Lets see how it goes from here on out. I'm still not a fan of us taking out all 5 starters at once early in some games. Harris and Miller should be on the floor at all times outside of foul trouble and a little rest. The team should go through them outside of blowouts.
  22. Don't know about any of the teams ( well I guess WOS) in this tourney. The hard tourney will be towards the end of December if there's no quality teams in this one. Silsbee just needs to focus on getting better from here on out and peak come playoff time. Be nice if a few more bench players stepped up a bit. Also be nice if we can get Miller and Harris to both go off on teams at the same time. More often than not if one is playing well the other will have a quiet night (see the last BU game). Not sure the status of our injured freshman or Haynes. One thing the Tigers have improved on over last year is burying lesser teams and putting them away. Last year we let a few squads hang around in games they had no business being in.
  23. North Little Rock got a legit 7 footer. Would be an interesting game to see if they played BU.
