A man was sunbathing naked at the beach. For the sake of civility, and to keep it from getting sunburned, he had a hat over his privates. A woman walks past and says, snickering, "If you were a gentleman you'd lift your hat when a lady walks by." He raised an eyebrow and replied, "If you were better looking it would lift itself."

This policeman was being cross-examined by a defense attorney during a felony trial. The lawyer was trying to undermine the police officer's credibility... Q: 'Officer, did you see my client fleeing the scene?' A: 'No sir. But I subsequently observed a person matching the description of the offender, running several blocks away.' Q: 'Officer -- who provided this description?' A: 'The officer who responded to the scene.' Q: 'A fellow officer provided the description of this so-called offender. Do you trust your fellow officers?' A: 'Yes sir. With my life.' Q: 'With your life? Let me ask you this then, Officer. Do you have a room where you change your clothes in preparation for your daily duties?' A: 'Yes sir, we do!' Q: 'And do you have a locker in the room?' A: 'Yes sir, I do.' Q: 'And do you have a lock on your locker?' A: 'Yes sir.' Q: 'Now why is it, officer, if you trust your fellow officers with your life, you find it necessary to lock your locker in a room you share with these same officers?' A: 'You see, sir -- we share the building with the court complex, and sometimes lawyers have been known to walk through that room.'

I will start it: SEC ession, SEC ession, SEC ession. (Sounds like a chant on a different forum.)

I'm kind of curious of why you think I even have a side. I guess the closest description I can give myself would be anti-liberal progressive. That is not the same as traditionalist. That is not Republican. That is not Libertarian. That is not Democrat. I will vote for Trump because I know he is better for the country than Hillary. You can try to pigeon-hole me into one of your preconceived notions if you like, it doesn't really bother me. And like Bullets, I will also call it like it is. Just because you might not like it or agree with it doesn't make it false.
-
I'll bet the number of people leaving the U.S. is thousands of times less than the number of people moving in.
-
I agree with you. Building a wall is not racist. (I don't believe Trump is going to build it, but I'm not convinced he won't try.) The Left has stated over and over and over that Trump is racist, and when I ask to be given examples of his racism, this one seems to always be included. And it's predictable how the Leftist media paints pretty much every Republican politician as racist (and the Republican party in general). So much so that true racists can hide behind the avalanche of unfounded racist accusations.

Can you name a country in Africa in which you think you (or anyone for that matter) have a better shot at Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness? Hell, don't just limit it to Africa. Can you name any other country on Earth where you feel you have a better shot at Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness?

Most of the "Haves" worked to earn their wealth. And most of the "Haves" contribute to a lot to charities. And the "Haves" pay the lions share of taxes. And all you can say is that the "Haves" don't want to share their wealth. You stated on another thread that the Right was expert at fear mongering. I beg to differ. The Right doesn't come close to approaching the level of the Left on fear mongering. The Right is way behind on media sensationalism and yellow journalism. I don't even think it is possible for the Right to convince their followers to "bite the hand that feeds them." This propaganda coup perpetrated by the Left to convince their followers that rich people are evil and do not pay their fair share is astonishing to me. The Lefty leaders have done this to create a divide between the two. How the Lefty followers have accepted this nonsensical notion is amazing.

We accept millions of immigrants every year. Many more millions want to get in. Compared with the 10 or 20 people that moved to Islamic nations, I see your point, these are similar numbers.
-
Has a minority ever said he couldn't get a fair trial because the judge was white? And did you call the minority racist? I think not. And building a wall is racist how?
-
Well taking the high road means not throwing out baseless accusations. It also means when you throw out an accusation you should provide proof when questioned on that accusation. Something you have failed to do on multiple occasions.
-
Just admit you can't provide proof and be done with it.
-
I did. And not one racist remark against Hispanics was found. How about you just go ahead and provide this info.
-
And how does he refer to their race? Are you going to try to throw out that tired old lie about him calling all Mexicans rapists? Are you really going to attempt that again?
-
Are you referring to legal Hispanics or illegal Hispanics. The polls that I've seen show that legal Hispanics are against illegal immigration. And they are the only ones allowed to vote. Well, unless the Democrats are running the voting booth. And I'm not sure how many of the Supreme Court members are up for re-election. I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that none of them are.
-
Nice. I'm not going to speak for nappy, but I will continue to refer to President Obama as simply Obama, just as I do for GW, Clinton, Bush I, Carter, Ford, and every other president. I refer to Hillary Clinton as Hillary to differentiate her from Bill. There are many, many things for which to criticize Hillary and Obama. I'm not going to stoop to a cheap shot on a name when there is so much more available material.

Social Security trust fund projected to run dry by 2034
Englebert replied to Bobcat1's topic in Political Forum
I'm surprised you hold Rockefeller in such high esteem. After all, he was a devoted Baptist and funded many Christian organizations that the left hold in such contempt. In his later years he did use his wealth to do a lot of good, but his wealth was accumulated off the backs of his employees. You know, the employees that worked from sun up to sun down with no overtime pay, no 401K, no benefits of any kind, no sick leave, no maternity leave, no paternity leave, no union representation... I'm not familiar with his hiring practices of minorities. Would the diversity of his workforce pass the Affirmative Action mustard? Maybe your admiration stems from the fact that he and Carnegie were so adept in cornering the markets that they forced Congress to create anti-monopoly and anti-trust laws. I'm just guessing here. Please enlighten us as to why you feel Rockefeller represents the pinnacle of the business world. -
Trump Warns What Will Happen if Hillary is Elected
Englebert replied to Hagar's topic in Political Forum
Where do you find these people? I have been around pretty much all of Southeast Texas and haven't found one member. I have friends and acquiantances in practically every city, town, and unincorporated area in Southeast Texas and none have even mentioned a present day KKK presence. If they are out there, they must be in hiding, which begs the question of how you've had personal experiences with them. -
Are you implying that nappyroots is "dissing" Obama by not adding President in front of his name?
-
White people were at the forefront of Civil Rights. Do you actually think that 13% of the population could get legislation passed that 87% of the population was scared of. Sounds like one of those revisionist history stories you are so found of.
-
You read a lot into something not said. I don't know how you can come to that conclusion based on the limited information provided. You could possibly be right, but if so that statement needs more context for rational people to deduce the meaning.
-
So why do Democrats think they can strip someone's second amendment right without a conviction, but not the fourth? Please explain how the fourth amendment is unimpeachable, but the second amendment can be tossed aside based on assumptions and accusations. And that's the best shot you can come up with..."I think I abide by civil rights". That is weak. LOL
-
You forgot to include "controlled by Democrats" in your common denominator list.
-
All you lefties should be taking note of the Democrats shutting down the government. You people always try to blame Republicans for shutdowns, but this is undeniable Democrats shutting down government. And they are shutting it down under the guise of the Orlando massacre, when none of the bills proposed would have stopped it. So let's hear from you lefties who is shutting down the government and who is grandstanding. (Hint: They both start with a "D".) And if you don't take note and condemn this action, be prepared to be called hypocrites like you try to label Conservatives. (I'm going to be using this one for years to come.) And it's ironic that the party that is supposed to be for civil rights is staging a "sit in" to deny people of their civil rights. And please explain the difference in condemnable decorum when Joe Wilson shouted "you lie" versus what the democrats have shouted at Paul Ryan. (Another hypocritical action to put in the coffer.) I know, I know. You have to wait until the Democrat leaders put out their talking points before you can formulate your own opinion that mirrors theirs. I'll wait.
