Come on Kenny! No need for an onside kick right now.

PAM has to come out firing at the half or we will most likely lose. They need to stop being fooled by these freaking onside kicks! It blows my mind that these guys weren't expecting them to try it on several occasions. Coaching, coaching, coaching!

Nope...here's how the game will go.
    1. Vidor has been watering its field, putting out Miracle Grow, and not cutting the grass.  The field looks like a cow pasture with grass 18 inches tall.  Coach Matthews will do anything to slow down PAM's #25.  That's a good plan.
    2. Regardless of the knee high grass, PAM will spread the field and find a match up it likes on the O-line versus Vidor's D-line.  #25 will find that match up and run to daylight.  The Pirates better get 11-defenders to #25.  If he gets to the edge, it's 6-points.  I don't know how fast #25 is in the 40 yard dash, but in full pads he is plenty fast enough. PAM will throw the ball sideways.  Take a chance and load the box to stop #25.  Make PAM throw the ball.  Who knows?  Maybe the PAM WRs get lost in the knee high grass and cant' find the football?
    3. Vidor will try student body right and student body left and PAM's D-line and LBs will be there.  Vidor will try the toss sweep, and PAM will be there.  Vidor will try the misdirection play with both the QB and the TB, and PAM will chase it down.  Vidor will try a pass to the TE or the RB out in the flats and PAM's DBs will not be fooled by the play action and misdirection of the Pirate QB.  I know you want to burn the clock, but 3 yards and a cloud of dust will be difficult against the size and speed of PAM's defense.  Nonetheless, the Pirates should do what they do.  Keep pounding the ball and tell the clock operator to be a tad slow on the stop button.  Keep the clock moving.
Good luck to both teams.  Play hard for 48 minutes and add up the score at the end.  No injuries.
    Go Indians.  Peace.

We beat them when it mattered most in the 4th round of the playoffs that year. It felt great getting a little revenge and beating them deep in the playoffs since that was our only district loss.

I would practice on different pass plays. Protection schemes. It won't be really competitive, so why not get some different looks at passing play.  Can't keep doing the same ole same.

PA beating MId County went on my entire life with few exceptions.  The talent in PA always runs deep as evidenced by the many college and NFL players over the years.  I am happy Memorial is getting some time to beat up on 5A teams.  They took their beatings as a small 6A school.  Congrats to Memorial!!! 5A D1 Region 3 is gonna be a bloodbath.

PAM by double digits. Based on talent alone PAM should blow the Indians out easily but unfortunately that may not happen due to the sub-par coaching on our end. Kenny's play calling will cost the Titans at some point but it won't happen tonight. Other than the PNG QB I truly believe PAM is better at every other position. Should be a good game and the atmosphere will be much more intense than it was against Nederland. I expect Hines to have a solid showing tonight and I really want to see PNG attack Vincent so that he can showcase exactly why he's going D1. I'll be rooting for the Indians come playoff time but tonight it will be all about the Titans.

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't saying the kid was terrible at all just that RJ seems to be a bit more talented that is all. Harrison is a 3 year starter with plenty of experience which is what you need come playoff time but after watching him play many times he gets rattled pretty easily and has trouble holding onto the ball. He is big and strong for sure, he can sling it better than anyone in the district but whenever he runs he just doesn't have that natural instinct like past PAM QB's have had.

PAT409 got a reaction from hsforlife89 in Rivalry renewed
It's getting pretty old hearing all the oldschool TJ and Lincoln graduates saying PAM can't renew rivalries like the old days. The kids on the team literally grew up in the same homes, apartments and neighborhoods. Had PAM been in the same district as PNG and Nederland since the merger then this discussion would be moot. The tension has been marinating for over 15 years as you can obviously see with everyone's passion this week being at an all time high. As the article states, this is truly more about the city of Port Arthur vs Port Neches-Groves. Yes I understand TJ has their own history that PAM can't claim on their resume but at the end of the day if you don't think these kids aren't out for blood then you're either stuck in the past or a non-believer.

PAT409 got a reaction from Ty Cobb in Kaepernick and the anthem
I am a veteran and I won't ever support Kap or any of the other players that kneel during the anthem. Yes, I understand it's their right to do what they need to in order to raise awareness about the ongoing police brutality, but I just don't agree with the way he is doing it. He is doing this during his "work" time not on his own time. If any of us did that during our work time we would be fired before we could say "oppression". His actions may have brought much more publicity to the issues at hand but they have also divided America even more. I will be honest, for the most part of my life I was never really fond of police and what they do because of the bad rep they have always had for as long as I can remember. After being overseas and having people that don't even know tell me how much they hate me when they don't even know a thing about me really helped to open my eyes. There are always a few bad eggs that slip thru any system and make the cut. It's very ignorant to put all police officers into one group just because you see a video on the news of a cop brutally killing someone. Once I saw Kap wearing his Fidel Castro shirt and those pig socks, that's when I was certain he was an ignorant fool. I may not have walked in his shoes and seen what he's seen but I promise you that If I were to make millions of dollars doing something I love I wouldn't have the audacity to say that I'm the one that's oppressed.

I am most likely one of the "Moms" being referred to and the intended purpose of the article from what I understand is simply to hear stories from PNG and Memorial fans who are friends, co-workers, relatives...etc about their feelings on the game and how they've been interacting with each other this week, like if there's been any "smack talk", pranks, friendly wagers...etc!    That's IT...actually the reporter didn't bring up anything about the "past" , but it did come up in conversation so I am confident there will be some mention of the past history between PNG, TJ, and Lincoln...nothing wrong with that!  But, I feel, along with many others that the main focus should be on the HERE and NOW,  the PNG/PAM Showdown...INDIAN vs TITANS Ep 1, and not be overshadowed by all us "old schoolers" relishing the past!  I work with a lot of people from PA, a couple of them have sons that play on the team, and they are all really excited to have the MC schools vs PA "rivalry" back and we've enjoyed bantering back and forth this week!  One of the PA "Moms" said the kids are loving all the attention and publicity this game has brought to their school and community cause they've all grown up around MCM/ PNG vs Ned/Bum Phillips Bowl and all the local and statewide attention it gets, and now they get their chance to be a part of SETX HS football history and create their OWN story they will tell their kids, grandkids, great-grandkids!  I just hope it goes something like this after Fri night...."I was in HS the first time PNG played PAM and boy was it EXCITING, our Titans fought hard, but those Indians gave us a scalpin'!" Haha!
I will leave you with this...my husband and I travel quite often, and have been all over  the U.S...football usually always comes up in convo at some point cause we LOVE IT, and anytime we are asked where we're from, I usually say Port Neches TX...and I almost always get the "I got no idea where that is" look, but he quickly follows with, Pt Arthur TX (TJ '92 grad) and the reaction is pretty much always...depending on their age of course...oh yeah, that's where Jamaal Charles/Jimmy Johnson/Babineaux bros/Kevin Everett/Danny Gorer...etc is from!! MCM may hold the title of biggest HS football rivalry in TX, but that just doesn't hold a candle to the 8 golden footballs recently given to PAISD for each alumni that has played/coached in the Super Bowl....most in the NATION!  Now, THAT'S what I call HISTORY and TRADITION!  Heck, most outsiders think Wade Phillips is from PA too...lol!  All that, to say...you are the MIGHTY PAM TITANS and we are INDIAN NATION...the first chapter of the story will be written Friday Night!!
