Pretty salty W for Kevin Flannigan and the Bruins. I think if you told Brook fans they were going to play in a district with the Woodlands and Lufkin, draw Longview in the first round and STILL win ten game everybody would've taken it. Already a good season for the Bruins, interesting to see how they show up and play as the favorite now.

Very quick on defense. Best defensive player probably #10. True head hunter.
Longview is 10-0 in Bidistrict games going back to 2006. 8-2 in Area round games during same timeframe.

I would't call Montgomery a strong opponent.  Rockwell is about to flatten them.  Lufkin has as good an offense as anyone, they have a weak weak defense.

I think the true blessing for D2 is LT and Katy are now D1.

Langham Creek's lack of D will get them.....they SHOULD get out of the first round this time....been a minute I think. Region 3 D2....Wide open is right, but "Not good" is another word. Anyone can win it, but I don't see anyone coming close to beating Steele win they make it out the region.

This should be a good game, hard to pick a winner.

Of that group only West Brook switched regions.  They will probably switch back to R2 after last season as UIL took a lot of heat for making such a wide geographic area district.  I don't see them doing that again.
Here is a side by side comparison of what I consider a top 6A team The Woodlands and Ridge Point
Ridge Point scores 372 points in nine games giving up a paltry 71 points.  That comes out to scoring 41.3 ppg and allowing a super impressive 7.9 ppg.
The Woodlands scores 401 points in nine games giving up 102 points.  That comes out to scoring 44.6 ppg and allowing 11.3 ppg.
On the surface Ridge Point looks more impressive with a greater spread between points scored v points allowed.  But dig deeper and a different picture emerges.  The overall record of Ridge Point's opponents is 34-43 with the district opponents overall records being 22-28.  The overall record of The Woodlands opponents is 53-29 with the district opponents records being 27-19.
The biggest victories for RP are 7-2 Stratford, 7-2 Kemper and 6-3 Travis. The biggest victories for TW are 7-2 Cy Fair, 7-2 Spring, 7-2 Katy, 8-1 West Brook and 6-3 Lufkin.
I just don't get the enthusiasm for Ridge Point, mostly they've beaten up on weak teams.

Unfortunately for West Brook the best two 15 6A teams are going D2, KC and Stratford.  Same thing in 16 6A with Westfield.  But, not so with District 13-14, the better teams in that district are going D1 (Cedar Ridge and Round Rock).  Same with West Brooks potential second round opponents from district 9-10.  Undefeated Sachse and one loss Rowlett are going D1, while West Brook gets third or fourth best team from that district.  Luck of the draw I guess.

They are already locked in at D2 along with Stratford.  Both are smaller than the three teams still eligible for the two remaining playoff spots, Klein, Klein Oak and Klein Forest.

I just looked at projected district playoff qualifiers.  Westfield would be West Brook's probable third round opponent, although Houston Stratford their 15 6A opponent in the first round is a very good team too and could pull the upset over Westfield.  Like with West Brook and Longview, the winner of the game between Westfield and Stratford should be a clear round two favorite over a weaker district 13-14 opponent.  Cedar Ridge is not currently expected to go D2.  The potential fourth round opponent for Westbrook is likely the winner of John Tyler and Klein Collins.  Of the 16 teams in R2 D2, I would rank the favorites in  as 1.  Klein Collins   2. Westfield   3.  John Tyler  4. Stratford/Longview/West Brook.

Very curious to see the results tonight between Lufkin and West Brook.  West Brook may be able to score on Lufkin given the D is not a solid as that of the Highlanders.  Right now it looks like Montgomery, West Brook and Oak Ridge will be in a dog fight for the third and fourth district playoff spot.  The picture might be a little clearer after the games this weekend.  Best of luck and safe travels to all.

Thanks for the info. Some people have said similar things in the past on other forums to take a shot, so I assumed the wrong thing. My bad. I do agree, if this team is young, then they're doing pretty good so far. Regardless of who they've played, they're 6-0 I think and have a chance to make a lot of noise around the state, if they can get a win tomorrow against a talented Woodlands team. I'm not expecting it, but we'll see. I'll be pulling for them for district title reasons though, but again don't think it's going to happen.

No, I didn't know your an got hurt, but I knew the starter was good.  When I said that about your qb, it was a compliment.  He's a gamer, and when he's on, the team is on.  No knock on him...
And you're right.  Who has WB played?  I say they're doing pretty good because overall, this team is young and this was supposed to be a 'down year's for them, and they just keep winning.  Great young talent, good running game, but a young defense.  Only time will tell how they will do once they hit the meat of their schedule... Which starts tomorrow and then with the game against y'all looming.

You do know our starting running back got injured in that game and didn't play in the second half right? Not sure why you're saying that about our Qb either. You can say that about most spread offenses that have a very good Qb. You could've said that about Kyler Murray at Allen. Not sure what's your point. I rather have him, then not have him. He can change a game. Maybe Wb will see that when they travel to Abe next week. You say Wb is more well rounded. I've already asked this question on the 6A forum, but how do you know how good Wb really is? They haven't played anyone. Montgomery barely beat Conroe tonight 43-39. That TAPPs school is 2-4. Central is what 2-3? Playing against average or bad teams can make you look better than you really are. Just my opinion though..
