  1. Some of it. Every high school in CISD (except The Woodlands schools College Park and TWHS) especially the current Oak Ridge attendance zone area, are growing. Much of the Oak Ridge growth is along the Grand Parkway, but it is also back behind old Oak Ridge and the Imperial Oaks neighborhood. Conroe HS will be one of the fastest growing areas over the next decade. I also expect Caney Creek to move up to 6A very soon. It won't be 2018, but probably 2020. The next new HS will likely be in the current Conroe HS attendance zone. The Woodlands HS's are essentially hemmed in now. There will be some growth as a few undeveloped areas get developed, but The Woodlands is essentially finished growing.
  2. TWHS and College Park are about as big as they will get. Conroe, Caney Creek, Oak Ridge and the new Grand Oaks will be where the vast majority of the growth in CISD will be.
  3. Conroe Oak Ridge will be split with the opening of Grand Oaks. Oak Ridge is expected to stay 6A. Grand Oaks will open as a frosh and soph the first year. But, they too are expected to be a 6A team in the 2020 alignment.
  4. A piece of trivia.....And possibly very good news for future BWB teams. The Woodlands has one of the best JV 1 teams over the last several. That is in part due to lots of talent that plays on JV, that would play on most varsity teams. Huge school, huge program, makes sense. They don't loose. In fact JV 1 last lost a game in 2012 (if memory serves me correctly). They've played Katy JV 1 every year in that period, along with some other very good programs. BWB beat them last week. Fans should feel very very good about future prospects.
  5. Look how well BWB did vs The Woodlands. They did much better than last year. So last year against their two best district foes they played better than expected one game and worse than expected one game. This year BWB played better against The Woodlands than last year and worse against Lufkin than last year. I don't see the problem. Should adjustment have been made against Lufkin, yes. Did they out play The Woodlands in the first half this year, yes. I think there is a really good chance BWB will progress further in the playoffs this year. I like a lot of things about the team.
  6. You are 100% correct. BWB is a very good team. Much better than most 6A teams. Except for Katy, they have given TWHS the best game of the year. I was more impressed when playing BWB than Lufkin. I am surprised by the loss and especially the scope of the loss. BWB had one horrible game last season and in the end had a great year. The same will happen this year. As we learned from last season, one bad game does not a season make. I expect BWB to win out and so will Lufkin. Oak Ridge is capable of an upset over either, the three teams are very similar. But, after seeing and playing all three, I think OR will lose to both Lufkin and BWB. Good luck the rest of the way and into the playoffs. We will be rooting for you in the playoffs.
  7. I haven't looked at the film, but at the time it looked like when he dove at Elia's feet, he did affect his run which caused him to be tackled. I could be wrong, but that is what I too thought when I saw the play live.
  8. When The Woodlands beat Katy last year, Jackson Shearer was one of the main reasons. He caught RB Glass in the backfield before he got going multiple times.
  9. Yes, as always, there were bad calls going both ways. WB did seem to get more penalties, but TWHS is a more disciplined team. They typically do not get as many penalties. I was really really impressed with Elia. Personally that is the most impressive performance I've seen for a dual threat qb since I saw Braylon Addison with Hightower. He is probably too small at least now for the top D1 programs. But, he plays well enough in my opinion to get D1 offers. The Woodlands is definitely not where they were at this time last season. But, WB is well ahead of where they were. I think WB will beat Lufkin, again. Every team has injuries. The Woodlands was very fortunate last season with few injuries to key players. That is not the case this season. We started the season with three track athletes with 6A gold medals at the state meet. None of them played last night. Both receivers were out, one has been out all season. And our one shutdown speedster CB is out for the season as well. Both number one and number two qb did not play last night. Johnson the qb was third string to start the season. His first varsity game was last week with Lufkin. Hopefully, the Highlanders will heal soon. But, at the moment this Highlander team is not capable of a deep playoff run.
  10. CP is not very good this year. The biggest surprise of their season was the victory over a good Deer Park team. They are very very young. But the good news for CP is that they have had a long overdue coaching change. The new coach Lonnie Madison came over from Klein Collins, where he was responsible for their terrific defense. Good things will happen in the next few seasons at CP. I don't expect them to make the playoffs this season.
  11. The Woodlands defense is very good this year. Lufkin was able to move the ball to keep the game tight in the first half. But, The Highlanders shut them down completely in the second half. They probably have even better team speed than last season. What they lack is experience and a dominant pass rusher. That being said the front seven is still very good, even with less experience than the team last season. The Highlanders have good depth in the front seven and substitute frequently without much downgrade. On offense the receivers are again the main weapon. They are fast and all of them have very good hands. Kesean Carter #6 is the defending 100 meter 6A champion. The key to slowing them is getting pressure on the qb. RB is adequate, but won't scare anyone. Against Lufkin, TWHS was without the #1 or #2 qb, but the #3 filled in nicely, I do not know the status of the qb's for the BWB game.
  12. Unfortunately, the game is on Thursday. I drove 105 to Beaumont last season. The drive was not too bad or too busy with traffic. For anyone wishing to attend that is the route I would suggest. I loved the BWB stadium and experience by the way. I hope to see a big BWB crowd. Goode Company just opened a BBQ and Mexican Kitchen up the road on Research Forest. It's less than one mile from the stadium. There is also just about anything else you would like to eat nearby. Safe Travels BWB team and fans.
  13. Yes, of course I've been in many locker rooms. I don't condone naked pictures of any student. More care IS required for girls and I don't think a crime was committed in this case. Especially if intent is an important element. As to registered offenders, most of the time it's important, but don't assume all of those cases have merit. Cases have happened where a person urinates in a public place and is required for a lifetime to register as a sex offender. That isn't the case most of the time, but it happens.
  14. Bare chested boys/men are not considered indecent. I still say of course we have to use more care for girls. Privacy is important, and blatant violations are the same for both. I don't see that here. I have one son and two daughters.
