1.
Yes, he is a great athlete... Not very tall, but very quick and throws the ball well. Will be a good fit for the PNG offense. What I find humorous is that I spoke with the same kids dad last year and he was complaining about how the Mid County schools were poaching all of their talent at HF...  :o ;D
If it's the same kid , I believe his name is Ky Walker. We have had several transfers in the underclass and middle schools. Don't know if I would move for athletic reasons myself , but it is nice to be getting good kids moving in because of a coach instead of leaving because of one. Their running back came with him also.
 2.
So, PNG got the kid that was the QB for HF 8th grade last year?
Yeah , he's supposed to be a good athlete.
 3.

Memorials A team should be playing central.
Most likely.  PN-G beat the 9th grade B team last year while the A team beat Central 28-6
PNG JV and Fresh played Memorials B teams. Any Indians out there know if the Freshman QB was the transfer from HF? Heard the fresh QB looked real good.
 4. Heard Chase Romero was out this week , can anyone confirm?
 5.
Great news for PNG, bad news for PAM. SFA85 is right. Does not get you ready for 5A football. PNG is good almost every year. But there is a big diffrence in a "Good" 4A and a "Good 5A" Lamarque is good 4A and Katy is a good 5A....There is a diffrence!
Very true , good post.
 6. This may be the game of the week. Should be a good one.

 8. I think going back to the pro set style offense will work well for Nederland. Neumann had some awesome offenses back when he ran that. His offense in the spread has not been close to some of his offenses were from about 1997-2001.He went from being the top or top two teams in the district to just squeezing into the playoffs the last several years from a a four team playoff district. I think we will see a very good Nederland offense this year , more like the teams from back around late 90's and turn of the century. Good luck to you guys , it should be fun.
 9. For years I felt Nederland and WOS had the best coaching staffs hands down. Since the arrival of Brandon Faircloth I feel PNG's coaching staff is in that league.
 10. Bertrand will put up good numbers but not as good as last years. This will be, due to that he won't get as many carries.
 11.
First of all, I've never heard of a school in Texas named 'Ozan'.  ;D ;D Second of all,  The first place sounds pretty accurate.  Livingston had a bunch of young guns on offense.  If their defense can play even halfway decent, Livingston may very well win district.  PN-G will not get second place.  There will be a huge droppoff of talent on the offensive sideof the ball with Doty and the Big O-Linemen gone.  Central will be higher.  People fail to forget that they are the defending district champs.  They lost some to graduation, but have a slough of young guns ready to handle their business.  Nederland showed me a young and hungry team last year especially on the defensive side of the ball.  Ozen will be good, but can Tre Green carry them by himself?  PN-G will only be working off of just the pure scheme from Coach Faircloth this year, so you know they will be well coached.  This is how I predict it to finish... 1. Livinston 2. Central 3. Nederland 4. PN-G 5. Ozen 6. Vidor 7. LC-M 8. Lumberton
This looks pretty realistic to me.
 12.
Pat Fishcer was the DC under Danny Malone while at PN-G.  Also came back and coached 1 year again at PN-G.  Good DC!
Yes he was , this is a good hire by Kelly. Best of luck to them.
 13. Jayce Nelson will be a good one. He is a bigger version of what Brent Duhon(people who remember him will show their age) was. He's got good concentration and knows how to go get the ball. He is one of the best if not the best receivers to ever play at PNG. A lot of school records being broken or in jeopardy lately. Think it may be coaching???
 14.
No particular order!!! PN-G Central Nederland Livingston
I second this^^^ and in no particular order also.
 15.
2004 we where co champs but would have advanced to the playoffs if only one team went. 2003 was the year png beat ozen and put nederland into the playoffs with the win.
I honestly think you guys had the best team in the district in 01 also. I believe that was the year with Ramoin.
 16.
Thats the beauty of the message board I can say whatever I like and you can like it or not. So I say Nueman is a good coach. Like it or not..........
I agree , Nederlands football team was almost non-existent before Neumann. He is one of the best coaches in the area. As far as having the athletes and winning outright district championships, sometimes a break here or there is the difference. Nederland has the same type athletes PNG has, historically. There are years here and there where it is tilted a bit one way or the other but for the most part it is similar. Since the start of around the Neumann , and Burnett eras PNG has won four outright district titles(96,03 or 04 not sure which one,07, and 09). With a break here or there we could have just as easily been co champs in most of them. One good example , we actually should have been co champs and ended up outright champs. It was the 03 or 04 with the last second field goal shinanigans against Ozen. A loss would have made us co champs instead of out right. Our win also put Nederland in the playoffs that year. Nederland has had athletes to win the district championship outright and has a good shot at it in the next two years . They have had very talented teams in the past that should of and it is no fault of Neumanns, just the way the ball bounces sometimes. The team that strikes in my mind as one of the most talented teams for them was the 97 team. I honestly believe anyone wanting to get rid of Neumann is crazy. They have gotten there the last few years by pounding their way through major injuries. Without that they may have gotten a couple of outright championships. Well , good luck next year even though the only luck yall have needed lately is staying healthy.
 17. I saw where LCM is going to open the school district up for open enrollment for students who no not reside in the school district( for a tuition fee). How will the UIL see this for these students athletic eligibility?
 18.
Last night at the Willis game I was very disappointed to see the Willis team meet at mid field before the game and after half time. Their routine before kick off's is fine, 11 guys coming together to get pumped. This is not a player problem it is a coaching problem. Willis was the most athletic, never give up hard working team I have seen at any high school level in a long time they have no need to do this. I wish them the best of luck as their program grows. Last year against Brenham as their coaches dressed with ties on they let their players do the same thing. I don't care if you are on your home field during the regular season, home team during the playoffs that should never be done. Neither of these teams are the first to do it and sadly probably won't be the last but for the life of me I cannot understand how a coach would allow this. In 30+ years of watching 6 man through 5A football I have seen this and it angers me every time. I have all the respect in the world for Brenham and now Willis but please stop this part or your routine. These kids have enough bad influence watching how college and pro sports have turned into a thug show without being allowed to do this in high school. I do not mean to single out Willis or Brenham but they are the two teams I have seen do it lately. Both of you have great schools and have no reason to do this. If a PNG coach ever allows this I will gather as many fans as possible and go to the school board and superintendent and try and have it stopped. NDN fans cross the line just like all others and so do our players. I am asking the coaching community as a whole to stop this practice. This teaches this young men nothing. Good luck to all of you still in the playoffs and great job to those of you who are out. Go PNG!
And how did that work for Willis? I actually have no problem at all with what they did. I guarantee Coach Faircloth used that to fire our team up.
 19.

I am excited we are playing at the Butch and on a Saturday.  It is a great facility and I for one love that we are playing there.
And as a Beaumonter we appreciate those very nice comments about our new sport facility. I, like others was tired of having to go to Houston for every playoff game.
It is a very nice facility. Glad to play a second round game there also. It looks like the new facility is good for the entire area as well as BISD.
 20. Good game and season, Lions. You played them better than they thought you would.
