1.
Lot of PNG "faithful" leaving early (3 mins left). Looked like a bunch of ants scattering out of the stadium. I enjoyed watching Faircloth's "new and never seen before in SETX" offense. Looks like he got a little cocky there at the end and decided he didnt want to kick a fg. Honestly, another great, clean game by both schools. Just pokin some fun.
Nope not at three minutes , they were standing. Nobody sat down until a minute and a half after the fourth down stop. I think Faircloth made the right call on 4 and 1 and the wrong call on 3 and 2 the play before. We were moving the ball , when he lined up Bertrand in the wildcat everyone in the stadium knew what was coming. But when you have the chance to win and the defense holds , you give props to the defense. Good stand for the win.
 2.
Props to Big Ned. That stadium must have been electric tonight. I would have like to seen it.
Even losing I still must admit it was one of the better ones. One comment , both teams will have to clean up the penalties. It's not like either one of these teams to get flagged as much for off sides, holding , etc... Penalties helped both defenses.
 3.

One mistake in that. I think Nederland's running attack is outshine bertrand. But thats just my opinion.
I think the QB's are even but PNG the edge at WR.  They have it the other way around.
PNG has the second worse receiver core i've seen this season... the worst being North Forest. They simply drop to many balls.
You must have only seen one game at the most. LaCour and Chipman have both been doing well.
 4.
Man, if we can get our offense on track we could make some noise in the area.  Defense was as tough as usual, this was the type of D that I remember from the early 2000's.
I agree with this. Your defensive line is good. I believe they will match up well with Livingston's run. They will have a better chance than anyone else of stopping the run . It should be a good test to watch.
 5.
I drove out there.....Ozen just over powered them....Ozen had more penalties...I left in the 4th qtr with 9 minutes .... Ozen's running game was the difference...then u add the play making ability of Green... Ozen will be making noise in the district!
WOW , 20-4A is going to be a war until the last week.
 6. What a game. We had our chance and Ned held tough. Hats off and another great MidCounty Madness. Our defense is getting better every week , I still say we are better at this point this year than we were last year. I still feel good about our chances. Congrats Bulldogs.
 7.

The Dogs will come out the way they finished the Vidor game, ON FIRE......I don't look for PNG O to be on the field much, cause Nederland D is going to SHUT them DOWNNN....Game management is the key and Nederland will set the tone for this game.....Bulldogs win this 21-7.....
Well you must not have followed PNG much in the Faircloth era our lowest scoing game since he has been Head coach here is 20 points. No one in our district will keep PNG Offense to 7 pts. Now i will say this also we arent gonna keep anybody to 7 pts either this game will come down to who ever has the ball last will win. I look for a 41 to 38 type game.
No matter the outcome this will in no way, shape, or form be an 80 point shootout. By the sound of some predictions. PNG is going to be very surprised by this Nederland D.
I agree about the 80 point shootout. If the over/under is 80 i'll bet the ranch on the under. I see this being close with both teams scoring in the 20's.
 8.
Hmmm.... didn't PNG lose their first two district games last year? Yes, I believe they did: 2010 Results Opponent     Score Gregory-Portland     29-30 Crosby     38-7 Texas City     20-22 Livingston#     42-49 Nederland#     32-39 Lumberton#     42-14 Beaumont Ozen#     49-42 Little Cypress-Mauriceville#     39-34 Vidor#     28-17 Beaumont Central#     49-19 Barbers Hill##     21-13 Willis##     50-47 Manvel##     46-56 Maybe it's not so much a "must win". ;)
Very true. I believe we have a lot of areas to improve on if we want to get in the playoffs but we are better at this point this year than what we were last year and ended up playing longer than anyone else in the district. I am confident with Coach Faircloth in control. Only time will tell.

I'm not sure why some people are making a big deal out of it. I for one am glad I didn't get caught doing all of the stupid things I did as a teen. Let them take their punishment and move on.
Amen td ! Amen  . They're children
Kids being kids would seem to apply when kids sit around someone's house and drank are at the local park. Being at a school event and drinking on campus is a whole other issue.
Be careful about throwing rocks at glass houses.
Well said Bigdog.... ;D ;D ;D
So you can confirm PN-G football players have been caught drinking at school organized functions on campus? If not there is no glass house.
There were several Indianette officers kicked off the squad for drinking at an off campus school event when I was in high school, back in the day. If I remember correctly, they were in uniform. Does that count? Teenagers screw up, period - even teenagers from PN-G. Their brains are not fully formed, especially in the area of decision making... proven fact. As much as I like to give my Bulldog friends h*ell, to pretend that this issue is confined to their campus is ludicrous. Signed, proud Indian mom of 3 imperfect but still extremely awesome Indian boys. [move]Scalp 'em Indians![/move]
Well , I was going to avoid this thread since I don't agree with news like this of a minor being aired publicly. But since it has kind of turned to underage drinking ( a subject I have strong feelings about) I will. And yes my post has nothing to do with the original title , I don't know any facts regarding that and don't want to know anything that is not my business. I believe a lot of regular PNG posters have stayed away from this  , yes some have took advantage to take a shot at our neighbors and it would be no different if it was the other way around. Good post by ALWAYS BE FAUTHFUL , yes it happens here. Too much, as a matter of fact. The shame is when I see it going on and adults are consenting and allowing it to happen at their home. All this just to make sure your child's social status is where you want it to be. Not a smart responsibility to take on. Most of the time nothing is hurt but sometimes a childs life is lost , unfortunately. And yet some are still willing to take that risk here as well as most other communities. OK , enough of my rant. I am looking forward to a great game tonight , hopefully we come out the winner. Go Indians!!!
 10.
There is a bigger non football issue with moving the game. This year PNG will only have four home games. When a game is played at Lamar or any other stadium your groups that depend on concession money get none of it the stadium does. Many of these groups fund non football scholarships so you would take 25% of there game funds from them.
Good post dawgnut , I agree.
 11. It worked well last year , I would use it until it didn't. I think we will see it.
 12.
The reason the bond didn't pass was because they pushed for too much at a bad time. PNGs bond passed before the economy tanked. Nederlands bond was up for vote after the fact. It was also too much. They wanted to completely tear down three of the elementary schools and that's just unnecessary. I personally voted yes but that's simply because of the stadium renovations. I think the vote was like 21 for and 79 against. Not sure what Nederlands gonna have to do to pass one. Making it more reasonable is a start though. Nobody said that the money from the refineries was to pays refs lol. The money certainly helps with funding projects and new equipment, etc. though. I'm not naïve enough to think that png will always have an upperhand on Nederland with these things though. Nederland is landlocked and doesn't have the benefit of two communities and refineries.
Looking back I honestly think we would have been better off to tear down a couple more of our schools and build new ones. The two oldest were PN Elementary and Groves Elementary and should have been done like we did the middle schools. I feel that is the right approach as opposed to going through upgrades in two bond projects in less than ten years.

 14. Absolutely not. They are in a tough district. Not necessarily tough as in playoff depth. But it is a tough district to be one of the four playoff teams. They are only 0-1 in district , lots of football left.
 15. I said this would be game of the week if not season and it lived up to it.
 16.
Stack 8 in the box plus since the QB goes both ways @Corner, I'd run his way and hit him every chance they get.....
I agree , this is the best game plan. Central's defense also matches up better than PNG's did with Livingston. Livingston will be tough to beat but I won't count Central out.
 17.
0 passing yards on only 1 attempt according to the stats for Livingston.  I guess if you are getting 7+ yards a carry you don't need a passing game.  It will be interesting to see if any defense in the district can slow their running game down.
The score doesn't tell the true story. By not going to their passing offense was only respect for this PNG team. They had to stay with their old stuff, because this team was dangerous. They will use their passing, when they do, it will be saying it's practice time for the playoffs. They can pass pretty decent, but it's still a working project for the playoffs. Any team they don't fear, they will come out passing. This PNG team is not a team you can play around with. :) :) :) :) :) :)
There was no reason for Livingston to pass. This year is not a typical defense for PNG. We have a good pass defense  and a run defense still making adjustments and struggling some . Last night , you have to give credit to Livingston's very good running game also. Livingston's coach did what I would have done . With that being said we are ahead of where we were last year at this time , and still managed to play longer than most of the teams that beat us early. This is a different district this year and every week will be a major battle for every team. I don't feel there are any gimme's for any team.
 18.
It's obvious the Lions wanted to shut down the run and make Miller beat them. Defense did a good job! GO LIONS! Toughest game out of the way.
Livingston did a good job stopping the run , it wasn't there for us. Livingston is a very good team. Congrats to them.
That dumb, "Who are we?  PNG!" chant...  (Before people start hating, let me say this...  I know PNG fans that hate that annoying chant also) When teams or players repeat mistakes, over and over.... Parents that don't make their children behave at the game. *****Especially this one***** People that yell out for biased calls and penalties, that don't make sense, or sometimes, don't even exist!
I'm in agreement with you on the biased calls. Some people think every flag thrown against their team is a bad call. I have some that sit around me that get mad on every penalty called against us. Teams that copy others traditions. I don't care for the "who are we chant" myself , don't recall that being an original PNG tradition. Another tradition copied by many was the ball bearings in the propane tanks. It was awesome for Stephenville , but annoys me when others copy it.
