2.
Vidor by 4. PNG will have a few big plays. But I don't think the PNG "D" will be able to handle the ground and pound. Still think it will be close. Turnovers...these could decide the whole game. Wish I could see this one!
OK
 3.
Hard to believe they did not play Arvie more.  I hate it for the kid.  He seems to be very athletic.  Makes you wonder why...
Arvie is a good athlete but the right back is playing. Look what Bertrand is doing and has done.
 4.
Hey ndnsrock44 and Purple Runs Deep don't go running anywhere. I'll see yall after the game with your crow in hand.  8)
Come on out and play
 5. Did ya'lls defense take the night off. No way the Ozen I saw last week should have put 41 on ya'll. But congrats and good luck in playoffs.
 6. Once again many missed it by counting us out after a couple early season losses. Just like last year we are a different team than the one that lost to Livingston and Nederland. Hope we can keep playing better. Thanks for all you do Coach Faircloth, you keep our kids working hard and improving.
 7. Congrats on outright district championship. Deserving.Gotta feel good for a good program to finally get over that hump.Lets make some noise in playoffs.
 8.
Right now yes they would be. But they both have faced the worst offensive team stats wise and we haven't.
According to the stats Nederland has faced the BEST three offensively. That would be PNG, Liv.,Vidor in that order. Speaks volumes for their defense! Edit: my bad it is actually PNG,Livingston,Ozen then Vidor. Nederland faced the number 1,2,and 4 team(offense). Vidor is 4 not 3.
 9. Don't want to be too confident , just stay focused and play your game. Stay the course.
 10. Ya'll are all a bunch of whiners. :) Really , none of ya'll are even close to us yet. BH is getting better though.
 11. In all seriousness Matthews has some good things going on in Vidor. Everyone saw 07 Lumberton coming since 05 , kind of like Vidor's 09 class.Honestly not many except Vidor expected what they are doing this season. Congrats on an awesome season. Deserving!
 12. Yeah baby, commanding lead! Ya'll know we will do anything to win . 8) C'mon NDN's let's take this thing, come out and stack the ballot box.

 14.
Lumberton will bounce back I think. Growing community over there. Nederlands success has always come from coaching and preparation, not blue chip athleticism. This year we have a lot of above average athletes added onto the great coaching staff and voila. It's not that I don't think we've been talented, but injuries can plague your season and really make it an uphill battle. Anyways, I think getting a good coach and hanging on to him is key. Neumann has a lifetime job as far as I'm concerned. On a side note, not sure why vidor fans on this board are so persnickety. You have a good season going and you will earn more respect if you let Friday nights do the talking about how great your team is. Just because YOU feel like the team isn't getting enough respect doesn't mean people should have to post something new every day about how awesome vidor is. Finish it now. Get to the playoffs and win a game or two. You want your defense to be compared to Nederlands? Ok well after you've played everybody in district (mainly PNG/LIV) then we will have a fair comparison. Goodluck to lumberton, vidor, and the rest of the district for this season and beyond. if you want a winning tradition, you have to start somewhere. One or two seasons of a winning record or playoff appearances don't get you there if things go back downhill shortly after.
Very good post. I remember in the late 90's Nederland couldn't get the respect they should have , but after a few years they did. I also agree about the coaching and talent. We are finally seeing an advantage as far as coaching. There is no way I could say talent alone, look at the kids continuing to the next level. Most do not come from PNG or Nederland. Although Nederland does have some talent for the next few years which , along with their good coaching could mean a deep run. Believe me other coaches are taking Vidor seriously , they have respect. It's just hard to get from local media from just a couple good seasons.
 15.
Yall are still assuming that PNG and Livingston will beat Vidor. Dont count your eggs before they hatch fellows. Vidor's on a roll and IMO i think they will not lose another game this year. PNG will be our biggest test but i think we will beat them and Livingston is playing us at home on our senior night. Black out night!
I do not believe neither PNG or Livingston has to beat Vidor if they win the others. Ozen has two losses and still has Nederland and Livingston left. A tie breaker will not favor Ozen the way it looks now if they can beat Nederland or Livingston. Ozen has lost to PNG and Vidor by the maxinum amount of tie breaker points.
 16.

Vidor - PNG game will be close; playing at the Reservation referees will decide it. PNG stomped Ozen due to let down of losing the Vidor game, tough loss for those kids. Livingston is a question mark; they do well at home but poorly here in SE Tex. Vidor - Livingston game is at the Boneyard, it will be WILD in that stadium come game time. Lastly, let's all not forget Vidor's defense.....it is the main reason we are 6 - 1. LCM only scores 7 points if not for wholesale substitutions and Mathews dedication to not running up the score unlike some other area coach.
Typical vidorian response. Refs and huge let downs lead to PN-G wins.
No let down here. I expect Vidor to win; read anything I've written. There are no ifs and buts in my threads, friend.  Concerning the referees, prove me wrong. No ghost chop blocks, no holding penalties after you're 20 yards downfield, no more down at the three yard line when our player dives into the endzone. We love playing in mid-county; always fairly officiated. It's the reason you turned off your big screen replay in 2009. I would rather play at Lamar and get the officials from El Paso.
The replays have been stopped anytime there is a flag out of sportsmanship. There were  some calls that were made in BOTH favor of PNG and against PNG that were proven to be bad calls by replay. As far as 2009 , you don't want to go there. That game wasn't even close. We weren't supposed to win that one and it turned out we dominated. No bad calls even came close to affecting that game. I feel this year will be a good game. It could go either way , I wouldn't call either the team the favorite right now. I also don't feel it will affect the playoffs.I can possibly see a team with three losses in. Ozen has lost two and has a tough schedule left and any tie breaker Ozen would have with either PNG or Vidor would not favor Ozen.
 17. Lot of ball left, anything can happen. But , it looks like you may be right.

We just got through beating Vidor at home and they were playing the PNG game over the speaker system after we shook hands. We needed PNG to win in order to get in the playoffs. Only time I've ever rooted for PNG lol. Talk about a roller coaster of emotions because that final few seconds took forver for the officials to figure it out and we couldn't see what was going on, we could only hear the radio broadcast announcers who were just as dazed and confused as us. All of the Nederland fans were on the field with us and everyone was completely silent as we were listening to the chaos. Ill never forget that experience for as a long as I live.. PNG - 31 Ozen - 27
That was pretty unique all the Ned fans at their stadium on the field waiting on the outcome. Had we lost Nederland and Central would have stayed home from the playoffs. Honestly Ozen got the short end of the stick that night. I'm not sure the right call was made by officials. That was one of those nights where I wasn't convinced that the better team won.
Big statement ? :-\  That you can beat an 0-5 team ? PNG is trashy
Thats what i'm saying. Not much of a statement.
LCM 27 Lumberton 25 Vidor 30 Lumberton 26 PNG 50 Lumberton 10 3rd Qtr
The difference between PNG and both LCM and Vidor is the diversity in the offense. Although Vidor will match up differently than did Lumberton and should be a good game. Lumberton tried to copy Nederlands pass defense which was to put pressure on the QB.They did get pressure on Miller. However, Lumberton used 8 to try and do what Nederlands front 4 did and leaving 3 to defend downfield will not and did not work. The pressure that has been put on Miller in these games thus far has really helped him to improve. He is getting better every week and making good decisions. It will not be an easy road but I still like our chances.
 21.

What a huge win for Nederland. The longer they play, the better the offense will get. I, for one, am happy to see old school Nederland football back with the downhill running game. Lots of hurdles left though...starting with the Jags next week.
Central has been a thorn for Nederland over the years. Might be the Dogs year.
You control your own destiny now. With that being said I don't see a district loss for Nederland this year.
 22. Congrats , you have the inside track on first deserving outright district championship in while. Your defense is the real deal , good luck. The Ozen game will be good.
 23.

I hope the refs from our game tonight read this board.  You guys are pathetic! !! You guys have NO CLUE on the rules and regulations of the game and are a joke!!!!!
Your team is up 50-10 , and you are complaining about the officiating?    Stay classy PNG fan.  /s
Not sure what your talking about. Bobbled the snap on an extra point and salvaged it with a two point conversion to make the score 22-3 early. Subs in late in 3rd quater. On the officiating , they made the right call on pass interference but huddled up for quite a while to decide how to handle it. No complaints from me though , they just had to make sure they marked it off correctly. Not sure what else you could be talking about. Guess we could have punted on first down every time we got the ball in the fourth quarter.
 24. Subs in, heading home . Got a road trip early. Don't tell godogs27.shhhhh.
