2.
PNG EXPLODED in 2nd half....DEFENSE stepped up Big Time!  1:52 left..PNG 41  TC 27
T.C. had some players playing both ways. That was the difference in the second half , you could se T.C. 's defense slow down. Their # 20 (Lynch) never slowed down. He is a burner. We have some things to work on still , but we are about where were last year at this time and ended up playing three playoff games .
 3. This thread is getting long , seems like all the Barbers Hill threads go many pages. LOL , who am I to talk ? I believe we may have set a record last year for the BH game.

Now, you are a rival and we beat you on a regular basis, like last year. Jeff wouldn't spend so much time on the field if you weren't playing with 13 players including the ones in black and white stripes like in 2009. Sorry, your first TD was 10 yards out of the end zone. And, since we play in Bulldog Stadium this year, we'll probably be there until 1:00 a.m. again. Looking forward to a great game. Go Pirates!!!
Anyone(WOS grad) have the all time record for Vidor Vs. Nederland? Maybe just the past 20 years? I wonder if PNG saw us as a rival while they beat us 19 years in a row (from 1965-1984, I think?)...
Not trying to thread jack but since you asked I believe most at PNG that went school when I did during that 19 years will say that Nederland was always a rival. But it wasn't as intense as it got from mid 80's on after it got more competitive.During the 70's and early 80's TJ was a little more intense rivalry. Although, I will say I don't believe the PNG/TJ rivalry at it's peak was as good as the PNG/ Nederland has become. Back on topic , I thought Vidor's rivalry was Lumberton. Vidor has also built a pretty good rivalry with Central , and I would say that is a respectful rivalry. Lots of class shown from Vidor and Central. Nothing like marathon overtime games and then seeing the two teams meet and pray together after the game.
 5. I have aleays been a Matthews fan. Like others have said , Vidor is not a punching bag like they have been before. Not to mention what he has done for Vidor athletics across the board. He is a first class guy and a coach anybody would be proud to have.

 7. 1987 PNG lost to Aldine McArthur 75-0. It was ugly but the ugliest part was when Aldine came out after halftime and ran over some of our band members. Its amazing that two years later in comes Danny Malone and what a difference.

First we never Blitz, we dont even get in a Goaline Defense when our opponent has the ball inside the 10 yardline about to score. Its plain old sit back and let the other team run the ball down your throat Defense. Our DC needs to be more aggressive take some chances and get our Defense off the field quicker in the up coming games. And can anyone explain why we didnt go for the 2 pt conversion when the score was 28 to 23 ?
Maybe your username should be "half indian/coach" since you know so much about what the PNG coaches should be doing. They're the ones that watch film, game plan, practice with the kids, etc. Let them do their job and shut your mouth.
AMEN!!!! They haven't let us down yet since they got here. Wouldn't trade them for any others.

I feel like they shouldve taken Crosby to the woodshed. Didn't see either of the first two games but listened to some of both, and not sure what happened in the second half last week but that was lots of scoring. I know the NDNs can put up some points, but have they played a 7 or 8 win opponent yet? My bet would be no. I am gonna go with Texas City by 6... TC - 27 PNG - 21
Year in and year out Gregory Portland is a playoff team. This year they are weak , very weak. As far as Crosby , nobody on this site was giving them much of a chance. But after the game, the PNG posters on this site wanted to give credit where credit is due. I believe Crosby will make the playoffs this year just as they do most of the time. You may not believe they are any good , I didn't last year and they knocked Nederland out of the playoffs and played two more weeks. But only time will tell.
They didn't play 2 more weeks after beating Nederland.  They lost to Montgomery the very next round.
You're correct . It was the year before that when they beat Nederland in the playoffs then beat Montgomary before losing to Pearland Dawson. They only played one game after beating Nederland last year and two the year before.
 10.
The best thing that could happen for Barbers Hill would be to meet PNG in the playoffs. After we win we can put aside this talk of which district is best. Having said that to stir the ndn blood, I believe 204A has mo betta teams than 194A but our top 3 look pretty good so far. The Nederland game will tell all of us a lot.
Gonna take more than that to stir this NDN. I do agree about the top 3 in 19-4A being tough , much tougher than past years. Top to bottom 20-4A is better in my opinion as well. I am looking forward to the Nederland/ BH game as well. Like I said in another post I believe it will be the game to be at this week.
 11. 19- 4a is better this year than they have been in the past.

 13.
I predict..............................................  someones gonna lose  ;D... Speed is gonna win this game. ;)
After friday night , it's hard to pick against speed.
 14. We need to improve on the defense . I still think the defense looks better than it did at this point last year , so I'm still confident we will be ok. It just may take a little while to iron it out. Hopefully quicker than last year (about 3 games into district). In our district this year , three weeks into district will be too late. I'm not sure what TC has this year so i'm not making a prediction . Hopefully we will see improvement. Looking forward to the first home game. Scalp em!!!
 15. Some of you people kill me. Theres no reason to get offeded because someone predicted another team beat you. They are just predictions and someones opinion , nothing more. Three years ago when we hired Coach Faircloth nobody including the PNG fans picked us to go 10-0. Most were around the .500 mark. Its very satisfying laughing in hind sight. Sorry , when you make a prediction one team has to be picked to lose. I just wanted to put that out there before I made my pick , hopefully I won't offend anyone. If I do you will have an even better saturday morning , pointing out how wrong the ones who picked against you were. Anyway i'm taking Nederland in a close one that probably will be the game of the week.
 16.

Wow, what a game. Crosby had the momentum. PNG D sounded soft. Can't stop Crosby on several 4th down plays and then let Crosby break a long TD towards the end. NDNS will need to find some D before District. Congrats Coogs on the win.
The defense was playing ok but Crosby's line was stout tonight and the RECEIVERS WERE BLOCKING! not to mention that last td run had a HUGE block my the QB Aston Walker. This was 2 offenses controlling the game through the run, don't call ur kids soft it wasn't that they played their tails off people need to face the facts i believe i'll quote myself "Crosby has the talent to play with anyone" they're just very young, but that youth today seemed to be explosive and made veteran plays, the Walker twins are very intelligent kids and they are lightning quick. But it was the defense that won this game 2 HUGE stops late one to get the ball back after a field goal and the other to win the game. The special teams had 1 mistake and they ndn's made them pay for it. Great game, but it was 2 evenly matched teams slugging it out and the cougs defense showed heart.
Good game by a young Crosby squad , congrats to ya'll. It was a good game, maybe destiny will let us see a rematch in the playoffs. Good luck to Crosby the rest of the way.
 17. Good game Crosby. PNG has not had good linbacker play in two years since Benoit and Kerr graduated. Our defense was always built arount strong linebackers, but we have struggled in that department in the lst two years. Good game Chase Romero but you are having to make way too many tackles from the secondary. Bright spots.... Miller looked good running. He's still a little strong armed on his passes though. Some areas that need attention were exposed and will be addressed I am sure of that. I am confident Coach Cox will see to that. That's what non district games are for. The defense looks better than it did at this time last year and we finished very good. Once again congrats and good game Cougars.
 18. The last two meetings between these two have been lopsided PNG wins. That alone can set you up for failure. If PNG prepares and doesn't think this one will come easy then this years outcome will not be much different than the past two. If PNG takes them lightly (which I doubt Coach Faircloth will let happen), it could be a tough night. Lets go Indians...keep the intensity and take care of business. I say 35 -7 PNG.
 19. This one is my pick for game of the week. Should be a good one.

 23. Another classic Ned/WOS game. On the edge of your seat till the end.
