Ehlinger's post MVP award interview gave me chills. Reminded me of Vince after the Rose Bowl win vs. Michigan in '04. And we all remember what happened in '05!

I don’t know why we insist on letting teams make it a game in the fourth quarter.
Frustrating stuff. Defense needs a turnover or stop here. Go for the jugular!

Don't know why it shows a blank quoted reply to Mack from me. My phone is spazzing out.
Need a long drive here Horns!

Gotta do it for another half but I loved what I saw in the first half! Offense slowed down a bit but consistently moved the ball and the defense is playing fast and with maximum effort!

Tre Watson is running hard tonight! I love it!

I told my wife that punter's knee was down. Shouldn't that be Texas' ball right there? Don't anybody tell me they didn't see that.
Review agreed!

I was hoping Washington would beat Ohio State but the Pac 12 is a complete joke. Wazzu is the only exception imo just out of respect for the pirate.

Time to begin the discussion of the 2019 NFL Playoffs. I know we will have Texans and Cowboys threads and those games will be covered under those threads but Vegas just released the opening lines for Wild Card Weekend.
Texans -2.5 O/U 48
Cowboys -2.5 O/U 42
Ravens -2.5 O/U 42
Bears -5.5 O/U 42
I will definitely be placing a significant wager on the Chargers at +2.5 as they have been pretty dang good on the road and I also am interested in the over in the Eagles @ Bears matchup.

Sadly, there is no doubt there is a large contingency of aggy that would rather both of us lose our bowl games than both of us win. If mighty Georgia falls to the Horns, they will lose their minds.
It will be excuse central if that happens... Baker was out, UGA didn't show up to play because of the CFP snub, etc. As a program that takes pride in being rich in tradition, they will continue their oldest tradition of excuse making then on Monday if bama wins the NC, they will get to enjoy the most recent tradition they have started which we all know is jock sniffing!

Colts vs. Texans will play Saturday, Jan. 5th at 3:30... As a Texans fan, I do not like this matchup due to how well TY Hilton has played at NRG Stadium, but I know Watson is a gamer and I expect him to play well with it being a playoff game. Crazy to think the kid hasn't lost a game by more than 1 score since his sophomore year of high school. All 4 wild card games should be pretty fun to watch!

Just read Manny Diaz to the U after accepting the Temple head coaching job recently.

In re: Big XII expansion, it depends upon what Texas wants to do. Regardless of OU fans arguing that the Sooners control the Big XII with championships and playing on the national stage, it is Texas that controls what happens in the Big XII. Texas is the Jones family and everyone else is trying to keep up. Texas can control its own destiny at any stage of NCAA conference realignments. Texas could go independent (if it so chooses; they have the money and fan base to do it with no problems), the Horns could stay in the Big XII, they could ease over to the Big X, prop-up the Pac-12, or they could join the SEC, if they wanted to do so. There is not a conference in college sports that would decline Texas. OU is handcuffed by the state legislature in Oklahoma. Wherever the Sooners go, too many politicians in Oklahoma want the OK State Cowboys to follow. The OK State anchor puts a lock on what OU can and cannot do when it comes time for conference alignment. If the Big XII expands, contracts, or stays with the status quo, it will be Texas that decides the answer. The Horns have the peso, thus, they have the say so. TCU, Baylor, KSU, Kansas, OSU, TT, ISU, WV, and even OU to a lesser extent, should follow the model of Tiger Woods' golf caddie, "Show up, keep up, and shut up." Everything else will take care of itself. For UH, we need to keep our Tier I education status, keep our football, men's basketball, and baseball programs on solid ground, keep improving attendance, keep improving facilities (sports and other), and keep building the brand under Dr. Renu Khator and Tilman Ferttita. Do all of that, and expansion will take a good look at you.
Go Indians. Go Coogs. Peace.
I do believe y'all are in good hands with Khator and Fertitta. There's no doubt in my mind that Fertitta is going to be invested in that program and sustaining/improving on what has been built there. UH is competitive in the 3 major sports and deserves a nod at a P5 conference imo. It never hurts having a guy that is willing to invest whatever it takes to help his alma mater especially with said guy having pockets that are deeper than the Pacific Ocean. Although him and DH are friends, he is also a business first guy and will demand results out of whoever is leading that program. The entire city of Houston is lucky to have guys like him and Mattress Mack as residents and contributors to the community.

Do y'all think Norvell from Memphis may be looked at? He is a guy I expect to get a big time job in the near future.

I've waited awhile to post my thoughts on this game but I feel like it will be a good measuring stick for going into 2019. Not many are giving UT a chance to play UGA within 15-20, but I have confidence in Tom Herman's ability to get his team ready for a big bowl game and I have confidence in Todd Orlando to put a good scheme together defensively. This will be a physical game no doubt, and as usual, whoever wins the turnover battle should get the win. I expect CJ and LJH to play well and I hope they come back next year. UGA will no doubt be the best and most physical team UT has played this year but realistically, Texas is the type of team that has proven this year that they can beat anyone yet they can lose to anyone depending on which team shows up. More than anything, I am excited for the direction this program is headed and I'll take my Horns 27-24 on Tuesday night! I think this group of guys are pumped about playing a team most thought deserved to be in the CFP and want to make a statement!

Texans clinch the AFC South with a 11-5 record. Await the winner of the Colts vs. Titans to see who they play in the first round. After the 0-3 start and with underwhelming play from the o-line all year, I must say I'm pleasantly surprised. Watson and Hopkins are special and I expect the defense to play well. If you're 1 of the 12 teams that make it to the postseason, you atleast give yourself a chance to make a run! Gotta love playoff football!

Gotta give credit where credit is due, blow u didn't give up and pack it in after going down 28-0 even though bama shot themselves in the foot many, many times. I hope Clemson can play the role of David a week from Monday, but I don't trust a true freshman qb vs. Saban's defense.

I hope both teams win this week to set up a week 17 showdown. I don't think Baltimore wins out.
Week 17 showdown is on! On the subject of me thinking Baltimore would not win out, I'll take my crow with a side of eggnog with it being Christmas. They may have the hottest defense in the league right now.

Merry Christmas! Hope everyone has safe travels!

I just watched the end of the game with my co worker who is a GPNS grad and that was absolute insanity, he of course went nuts. Would've loved to have been in the building for the 3 games played today! What an end to a great football season!

My brothers best friend coached Jones at Nac and said although he was pleased with his draft grade, he would be shocked if he didn't stay. I hope he is right. I hope CJ and LJH do the same! Young guys will have to step up on the defensive side of the ball.
