  1. A picture really is worth a thousand words.
  2. That's very true. After all, you WERE playing WEST ORANGE-STARK.
  3. For the last three years or so, we've ONLY done the game-situation scrimmages. I don't know about this weekend, though. It's MUCH better (tons more fun) to see the game situation, plus it's a WHOLE extra game under your team's belt.
  4. Still not impressive. You played a pretty bad 3A team.

  6. Someone notify the CIA that the city of Mont Belvieu has disappeared from the face of the planet... or call Roadrunner and let them know that their servers are all down. POOF! and they're gone!
  7. Even though they aren't "rated," I'd stick BH in the overrated column. They had almost nothing against WO-S tonight on offense and the Mustang offense moved the ball at will - until the last five minutes, when the JV kids got in. They might make the playoffs in a very, very weak district, but there's nothing there to make me think they'll win a single playoff game. The defensive line is EXTREMELY susceptible to the run, and the secondary simply cannot defend the deep pass. I expect big play after big play on the Eagle defense. On offense, nobody wants the ball. It's all over the field. The running game is practically non-existent (save for one big QB run) and the passing game is nothing to write home about. I wasn't really expecting a shootout in this scrimmage, but I was certainly expecting more of a game than we got. I would equate it to our games against Orangefield (no offense, Cats) or Hamshire-Fannett. Either I'm right about this, or the Mustangs will be unstoppable this year.
  8. Bless y'all's hearts. I know you were coming in there to make a statement and some noise, but you didn't know. It's okay. You've been playing a weak regular season schedule all these years, punkin. That explains the quick playoff exits after 10-0 seasons. You didn't know what you were getting into. We understand. Really - it looks like your little 4A district there is pretty darn weak, so you should do OK in the regular season (assuming things improve). When the playoffs come and you get booted in Round 1, it won't be any shock or surprise. Business as usual. Look at the bright side - none of your players actually started shrieking or running in the wrong direction just to avoid a hit - though it was REALLY funny when the BH players did a little handshake and showboat dance after a sack when they were already down by three scores and being shut out. Don't worry - you didn't know football. You bet against a team you knew little about. My grandmother does the same thing some times. The sun will come out tomorrow. At least now you know, and you can have closure. I do wish you had lived up to your word and come to meet everyone. My wife was even there for the big event. She's from Kirbyville. Surely you haven't fallen off the face of the earth. I know you'll be here for your crow soon. Until then, sleep it off. Time heals all wounds. Night night. Just "havin' fun."
  9. Purple Mustang? Musta been a bronco, since WO-S wears navy blue. Funny, tonight, on the way home, I came across an eagle that had been run over by a herd of Mustangs. It let me pick it up, so clearly it had completely lost its defenses, and I couldn't seem to get its tail from between its legs. I didn't even know birds could do that. Coincidence?
  10. Jody - your thread title was dead on. Thanks for putting us in our rightful place: ON TOP!
  11. Awww... Bless his little heart. Nah. He has been asking for this for two years. When he dries it up, tell him to come and take his medicine like a man. His team was FAR, FAR the lesser tonight. I never thought it was possible to be unrated and still overrated, but now I know better. Don't delete this stuff or ask us to stop. The guy has been "having fun" with us for two years. Now it's our turn. We're just getting under his skin for fun. Jeez.
  12. LOL. Good stuff. Not much of a test tonight, but hopefully the Vidor scrimmage will give us more to work on. Tackling was a bit of an issue here and there, as in the TD run, but otherwise a dominating performance. The score was closer than the game. It looked QUITE easy and the outcome never seemed to be in question. BH looked lost all night. Bless their hearts. They must have been reading Jody's "musings."
  13. In my opinion, the score was a bit closer than it should have been. BH didn't seem to have much on offense besides one big run, and the defense rarely stopped us. For such a poor run defense, we did stop them four straight plays on the 1. I guess I was expecting more. It was nice to see some WO-S football, and the team looked rusty but pretty good for a first game. Garrett and Thomas looked great, as did Bevil at QB. The BH QB has a SERIOUS problem holding on to the ball off the snap. Not the most exciting game in the world, but fun for a scrimmage, I suppose. Great game, Mustangs! This looks like it should be a bright year! Where was Jody? He was supposed to come introduce himself.
  14. We beat Huffman by 3 TDs last year. Once is an upset, twice (or more) is inferiority.
  15. I wasn't aware of the Ned QBs being all-district frequently. To be honest, I don't think of great QBs when I think of the Bulldogs. I think of strong lines, mostly. I think of DBs and strong defense at WO-S, kickers at PN-G (not an insult), RBs at the PA schools.
  16. Actually, MOST people (I.E. People who actually have watched WO-S more than just the last two years) would think of a dominating run defense. I think of that and a great secondary (Kevin Smith, Kenneth Beasley, Earl Thomas, Kerry Franks, Jeff Thibodeaux, Jermaine Hope and Michael Ledet all went D1 - and all but one in the last five years).
  17. Hmm... I guess Bay City wasn't exactly a "Kirbyville-type" power last year, huh?
  18. We played in Lufkin last year. That screen, from the picture, looks about 1/5 the size of the Lufkin screen. THAT is what all the fuss is about?? :?
  19. That's a good question. I have no idea. I guess D-line if any specific position.
  20. I heard that even though it's a bit smaller than most expected, it should be a great place to watch all of the bears' opponents highlights.
  21. Aaaaah. Well, if you haven't watched football since the Oilers left Houston, it makes sense that you think BH is a better team than WO-S.
