they are the smallest team I have seen at HJ ever. but if you look back at my earlier season post I praised coach Davis and this group for finding ways to beat tough teams. I have seen them play extremely well despite their size disadvantages. as of lately just seems like they have lost a little defensive intensity and the nack to move the ball on offense.luckily neither of these are hard problems to correct. just hope they get back to the ball they played earlier in the year.

this was a darn good game. Hj came out blazing but the third quarter seemed to be too much for them. Just hope this 2nd seed doesn't cause us to have an early playoff exit!!!! good to see the big man from JV get some action.

h j gave silsbee all they had unfortunately they have no true dominate big man. they will be fine In their district but the playoffs will be a different story. Hadn't seen many of the underneath games but I've heard it some size on the jv and 9th grade teams maybe a few of them will get a look soon. Size would definitely help.

This one could get scary early on but at least the hawks are scared to play them. If Hj comes out and shoots the ball well like they are capable of doing this game will be much closer than most of us expect. No Hj doesn't have the one or two studs they normally have but the guys they do have play very well together. height is gonna be a big problem for HJ. no predictions just want each team to come out and play their hearts out!!!!.

so glad to see him doing what he loves to do best! so often kids take things for granted hat he and his teammates had to go through that horrible injury but he seems to be extremely focused this year. Keep up the good work young man

this was a good game hJ didnt necessarily play well in this game but a win is a win. a few gutsy plays late in the game pretty much stole momentum and the win. a four pt play to tie it up heading to the 4th and then the big pull up three with 4 sec remaining was the difference maker. I saw sneed dressed but no action! i hope he is injury free sure gonna need him Big guy from LCM is a decent player I.M.O but a lil too cocky. a lot of mutombo finger waiving and head shaking but when he had the opportunity to put the game away for the bears he missed a go ahead dunk and then two big free throws.

why not play them? Indeed this will be the hardest game on their schedule? silsbee is loaded and everyone in SE Texas has to respect what coach SIG has done with that group but to take them off of your schedule or back out of a game like many other teams have done is just down right stupid. Lace them up and play ya heart out and see what the score brd says at the end.

Nederland and New Braunfills are the only teams to beat this group which each did twice.
They are by far the smallest hJ team I have ever seen but they keep finding ways to grind out wins. Every game that I have seen this year has been exciting to see them hustle , make the extra pass and just play team ball. at times they shoot the ball just as good as any other team in the area. against huffman the first 5 0r six shot were made all of them being threes. in the case of the "silver haired man" or any other fan for that matter, refs have to understand their jobs are harder and more scrutinized than being a CEO of a major company, Never will they be able to appease all fans and coaches. But if they work hard to control the game and make consistent calls their jobs would be easier.

coach Joubert should be called a magician this year. He has a very limited rosters and is competing with some big time programs, I know its no glory in moral victories but his kids have bought into the system and play hard for the entire game. I missed the Hj game but heard it came down to the wire and against central i was really surprised to see them play as well as they did. glad Hj got out of the dog fight. any word on how they are doing at the Aransas pass tournament?

H J is smaller than they have been in the last few years but size disadvantage has only showed to be a problem for them in the Nederland game if they shoot well and move the ball they will be fine in this one. number 4 from kountze can really fill it up from everywhere on the court if he is hot it mat be hard to match their home cooking

this game will simply come down to coaching strategy. Easily two of the most athletic teams in the area. They seem to be evenly matched from what I ve seen of them lately. I was impressed with central in their win against Kountze.( who I have to give credit to as well they are much better than what I thought they would be this year) central is very energetic and shoots well. Silsbee depth will take the air out of them late in the game. it will be closer than most expect but the tigers win by 12. good luck to both teams and Great job coach Paul and the jags for not backing out on this game.

I really could care less about this situation but reading this entire post is just down right funny. Its originally about West Brooks coach making a bad decision. for whatever reason he did what he did is all on him. I agree something should have been done on the district level to deter some of the theft but...... but its funny how this becomes a BISD scandal or how coach foreman is brought into the conversation. Im sure all coaches have had their run ins with the administration but for them to tell you in confidence and then for you to post that on a public forum sure looks good on the part of everyone mentioned. as a head coach its your obligation to uphold the best interest of the district. Sure we all know BISD has some problems but its not wise for any employee to bash their employer . With this post seems like you dont want either of these coaches to be successful yourself!!!! it a public forum and Im sure the people that are in charge of BISD lurk here as well.

both teams were missing football players and from what I hear H J had three regular basketball players out with injury. I wasnt knocking wos at all by my earlier post everyone in the state of Texas understands Basketball will be difficult well into December for them. but obvious credit has to be given to the H J staff. not ranked ,only 1 returner and two big transfers to BISD. and the hawks still come out on top BIG. WE ALL CAN SAY THEY DID THEIR JOB!!!!

sounds like this years Hj team is pretty darn good or at least has some potential to be good. 110 pts is impressive no matter who the opponent is.this has to be a result of really good defense or really good shooting but in most cases a combination of both. All the talk about them loosing the kids to west brook and being small seems like it was all wasted breath. Im sure ill be able to catch a few games after the hawks make a long football playoff run. but is always tough for me Ive been torn between home ( silsbee) and my new love hate relationship of HJ lol
