  2. One of the best JV squads in years is what i've been told. Yes... That's a fact. One of THE best JV squads the 'Stangs have ever had in their 30 + years, and that's saying quite alot! Mix this group in along with some of the other underclassmen and with the Seniors on next years Varsity, and the Mustnags are gonna be a real contender for state for the next 3 years running, not to mention this years #3 ranked 'Stangs...WOW! An extremely bright future in Mustang land for the next several years! Mix in with that an 8th grade group with over 54 kids on the team (yeah, just on the 8th grade) who had an "a" and "b" team, both of whom went undefeated for the season and both gave up less than 20 points total! That's right! Man, what a future these kids, coaches and fans have to look forward to... Can't wait.

  5. Great to see the community support tonight for the 2008 Mustang Homecoming Parade lining the streets of West Orange. Awesome BB-Q at the event, as always, and Congratulations to all of the kids on the homecoming court, you all certainly deserve it! Considering the time of season, and of course the events of hurricane Ike, the football field looks great for this special ball game, especially the silver and blue stars in the end zone! Looking forward to an exciting Friday night of Mustang football. Go 'Stangs!
  6. Awesome news! Can't wait to see it... Hopefully at tommorrow nights game, they'll light it up as in years past.
  7. Sentimental favorite "RADIO". Coach Jones Coach Jones... This is Radio... What pants do I put on? Person 2 - Just grab something... Radio - How 'bout this one? (holds pants up to the phone) Person 2 - Those look fine Radio... Radio - Okay!!
  8. Not much to talk about with this one... Excellent playoff tuneup game for the 'Stangs this week. It'll be a L O N G night for OFHS, not to mention, having to sit through the WO-S homecoming festivities! My prediction: 'Stangs 56 - Bobcats 0.
  9. Times are changing? Yeah, you're right... daylight savings time begins this weekend!! Hawk fans, you folks are in for a real TREAT tonight, along with a few tricks. The #3 ranked Mustangs are a fun & exciting team to watch on all phases of the game, all 4 quarters. Unfortunately things won't be so pleasant for your team this Halloween night.
  10. Final score WO-S JV 34 - HJ JV 0. The Hawks played well for a half. The 'Stangs played hard all 4 quarters. That's the difference...
  11. With the new field turf and other stadium renovations, my vote is for "Rice Stadium". Close to the field and not a bad seat in the house!
  12. Wow! Lot's of folks predicting HJ to score more than two TD's... Someone was actually even bold enough to predict 24 points?! Sorry Hawk fans, the Mustangs aren't the #3 team in the state for nothing. The 'Stangs are getting healthy and catching fire at the right time of the season. I'll give the Hawks their due respect for their performance in the district thus far, but the fairytale ends Friday night. Fly away little birdie, fly away. My prediction... WO-S 48 HJ 7

  14. My vote is for PN-G. Their fans fill the stands, regardless...
  15. [Hidden Content] Try this link, it should tell you what you need to know regarding Mr. Chavis.
  16. Not even close... WO-S by as much as they want. I respect our Orange County rival, but BC doesn't stand a chance against this talented stable full of 'Stangs. I guess if I were to predict the outcome... WO-S 56 BC 3 ('cause you know the Cards will try and put something on the board late in the game, even a 40 + yard field goal attempt). Best of luck to ya BC, I know you'll try and play hard Friday night and the remainder of the season.
  17. WO-S 36 HF 7. The 'Stangs are just a far superior team regardless of the field conditions, due to the rain today and Friday morning.
  18. Exciting ballgame tonight! Congrats to both teams on an outstanding Defensive football game. WO-S did look a little rusty and not quite themselves, but you gotta give those Tigers their due... they played a fine ballgame, and took the 'Stangs to the wire once again. It doesn't get any tougher than this one!
  19. It's all hearsay... No coaches lost or players. The coral at Mustang land is full!!!
  20. This is another outstanding hurricane tracking website. The site really shows the depth and details of the Gulf of Mexico. Be safe everyone!! [Hidden Content]
  21. Great overall performance by the JV and 9th. Both squads performed well, and have outstanding talent on both sides of the ball. Lots to look forward to in the coming years in Mustang land. Great job Mustangs!
  22. Most games won vs. WO-S (only 14 teams have won more than once out of 67 different opponents) 1. 7 - Port Arthur Jefferson (7-9-1) 2. 7 - Vidor (7-15-0) 3. 6 - Port Neches-Groves (6-17-0) 4. 6 - Nederland (6-23-0) 5. 5 - Beaumont West Brook (5-5-0) 6. 5 - Jasper (5-17-0) 7. 4 - Beaumont French (4-5-0) 8. 4 - Bay City (4-8-0) 9(t). 3 - La Marque (3-1-0) 9(t). 3 - Houston C.E. King (3-1-0) 11. 3 - Beaumont Central (3-9-0) 12. 2 - Beaumont Ozen (2-2-0) 13. 2 - Silsbee (2-13-0) 14. 2 - Little Cypress-Mauriceville (2-22-0) Historical data from www.texashsfootball.com Based on the facts, WO-S and Beaumont West Brook are tied. Supposing the two squads clashed head-to-head, you gotta give the nod to the Silver and Blue. With Hooks and boys, how could you go against WO-S? My pick: WO-S (By a touchdown)
  23. Big Ned will be fine. You guys have several bright spots that will continue to improve, plus get a couple of folks healthy before district. Don't worry just yet... Your kids just couldn't stop the run TONIGHT, but that's SETX HS Football for you! Good luck to Ned the rest of the way.
  24. Kids were dropping like flies due to cramps... also, why dont we use the option more??????? As to be expected, it was a hot humid night. Some of Ned's players were battling cramps and fatigue too.
